Give Us This Day Our Daily Drek

Hired a fishing guide yesterday for a trip in late April. My life is so exciting, I can hardly stand it.

Trump smashes Obama’s small-donor fundraising pace, bests Clinton, Sanders combined

Mr. Trump raised about $239 million from small donors during the campaign, compared with Mr. Obama’s $219 million in 2012 — then a record — and about $181 million in 2008, according to the report from the Campaign Finance Institute.

Mr. Trump’s total was also more than the small-dollar donations — defined as $200 or less — given to 2016 Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton ($137 million) and Sen. Bernard Sanders ($100 million) combined.

Michael Moore Launches Website With Goal To Remove Trump From Office

“GOOD NEWS FRIENDS,” Moore wrote in the lengthy post. “I’ve promised you a one-stop site, a clearinghouse of all actions–a RESISTANCE CALENDAR–where you can find EVERY upcoming action, protest, march, sit-in, town hall, anti-Trump, pro-democracy event in all 50 states! A site where YOU can post your own action so all can see it.”

New Website Helps Libs Imagine Life Under President Hillary
This site declares itself as “news from the real America, where the majority rules:”   There is no indication that this site is the genius brainchild of conservative super trolls. Moreover, most of the articles sound like they’re right out of The Huffington Post, Salon, or at But either way, the Onion-esque style will bring laughs for some, and strange comfort for others.
Trump Is Beating the Media at Its Own Game
The left’s own politics by shorthand is now being turned against it.

From ill-mannered reporters come lectures on manners. From partisans come demands for non-partisanship. Almost all of the complaints of the press can be boiled down to one demand: that its conservative targets unilaterally disarm. We fight, you surrender — that is the media’s idea of civility.

So expect the squeals of the media to grow in proportion to Trump’s exposure of its fraudulence. Bret Stephens and company can pompously say that Trump is an opponent of “objectivity itself.” But all that means is that he rejects their phony claims of objectivity and impedes their partisan wishes.

NBC uses a group of school children to make a video trashing Trump

If you ask NBC News, it seems American schoolchildren do not like President Donald Trump.  In two videos released by the network, students deliver their “hopes and fears” to the new president in predominantly negative comments.

“Just because I’m Mexican doesn’t mean you can build a wall in my country,” a young girl said in “Dear Mr. President: Letters from the American Children.”

“Not letting immigrants into America is really not nice, so please let them in,” another young boy said.

The Jew-hating Muslims among us. Ms. Salem, a teacher at The Children’s Courtyard in South Arlington, Texas, tweeted vicious, murderous posts from her now-disabled Twitter account. Remarks such as: “kill some Jews,” and “How many Jews died in the Holocaust? Not enough…HAHAHAHA.”

Trump administration poised to change transgender student bathroom guidelines

The Trump administration plans to roll back protections for transgender students, reversing federal guidance that required the nation’s public schools to allow children to use the bathrooms and locker rooms that matched their gender identities.
The reversal would represent a significant setback for the gay rights movement, which made enormous gains under President Barack Obama. It suggests that President Trump, who had signaled during the campaign and in the early days of his presidency that he supports gay and transgender rights, will hew closer to the GOP party line.

They labeled the teenager an ‘immigration enforcement priority’ because of his gang ties
It is not known how long Valles, a Mexican citizen, has been in the US
Denver is considered a sanctuary city and has clashed with Trump’s White House over its treatment of immigrants

I am NOT going to use the term “illegal immigrant” ever again. (Call me out if I slip up!) The Left has managed to conflate the meaning of “immigration” to include by legal and illegal. Then they brand those of us who oppose illegals as being anti-immigration. I won’t feed into that meme. They’re ILLEGAL ALIENS. Immigrants come here legally and assimilate. Period.

DHS Shifts Funds from Defending Illegals to New Office to Help Their VICTIMS

On Tuesday, DHS Sec. Kelly issued an immigration memo shifting the U.S. government’s efforts and resources away from defending illegal aliens to helping their victims.

The memo creates the “Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement” (VOICE) office, which will act as “liaison between ICE and the known victims of crimes committed by removable aliens.”
The memo also reallocates “any and all resources” currently used to advocate for illegal aliens and terminates “outreach and advocacy services” provided to them:

New York City’s broken windows policing helps Trump deport immigrants, pol says

The city should stop making arrests for minor offenses like fare beating to avoid setting more people up for deportation, a city lawmaker and legal aid groups said Tuesday.

Under President Trump’s new hardline immigration policies, an undocumented immigrant becomes a priority for deportation if charged with any criminal offense. And people who get arrested have their fingerprints sent to the feds.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents have even been waiting outside Manhattan misdemeanor arraignment courts in recent days to nab people after their court appearances, according to New York County Defender Services.

Arizona Governor Stops Licensing Board From Harassing Student Who Gives Haircuts to Homeless

Thanks to public outcry after a story KOLD News 13 first brought you, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey had asked a state licensing board to drop an investigation into a Tucson cosmetology student.

Juan Carlos Montes de Oca found himself in hot water with the board after giving free haircuts to the homeless.

The Arizona State Board of Cosmetology is investigating a complaint against him for practicing without a license.

In a letter to the board, Ducey said, “I find this outrageous, and I call on you to end your investigation, save Mr. Montes de Oca the inconvenience of having to travel to Phoenix to appear before your body, and waive any fees or penalties the cosmetology board is considering against him.”

Schumer Predicts GOP Will Break From Trump “Within 3 Or 4 Months”…

“My prediction is he keeps up on this path…within three, four months you’re going to see a whole lot of Republicans breaking with him,” the Senate’s top Democrat said during an interview with ABC’s “The View”.

Schumer argued while most GOP lawmakers aren’t yet willing to break publicly from the Republican White House, they are privately having “real problems” with Trump’s policies in his first month.

“A lot of the Republicans they’re mainstream people. …They will feel they have no choice but to break with him,” he said.

Gillibrand Breaks Away From Schumer, Calls for ‘Up-or-Down’ Vote on SCOTUS Nominee

“What is the Democratic strategy on this? There has been a lot made of this. Do you try to filibuster Gorsuch and risk the Republicans going for the so-called nuclear option, which would basically eliminate the filibuster now and forever?” NY1 reporter Bobby Cuza asked Gillibrand. “That seems like an equally bad outcome from the Democrats’ perspective.”

Gillibrand said she hopes her Democratic colleagues in the Senate will vote their “conscience” and that there will be an up-or-down vote on Gorsuch.

“I hope we do vote him down, but make no mistake, if we do hold the line with 60 votes, Mitch McConnell will change the rules the next day, so it will be Mitch McConnell’s decision,” Gillibrand said. “I do not have any hope that he will not change the rules the minute he doesn’t get his way.”

Memo Warns Members Of Congress To Be On Guard, Tell Police If Go To Public Meeting…

The memo from the U.S. House sergeant-at-arms to every representative in the House doesn’t mention a specific threat, but it instructs them to alert their local police if they plan to attend a public meeting.

A series of town hall meetings in the hometowns of congressional leaders have been volatile recently. None has turned violent, but at least one person was arrested and some police escorts have helped protect the Congress members leading the events.

Pennsylvania School Sees Improvement After Dropping Michelle Obama’s Lunch Program

Since opting out of the federal program, Penn-Trafford High School in Harrison City has increased lunch options for students and more than made up for lost federal funding, according to TribLive.

Students at the school waited longer in line for fewer meal choices with Obama’s lunch initiative. Program rules required schools to offer healthier food options with less calories and more fruits and vegetables, but students would often throw fruits and vegetables in the garbage.

Brianna Lander, 18, a senior at Penn-Trafford, told TribLive that she has seen a change in students’ lunchroom behavior since the school left the lunch program.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe Stands with Planned Parenthood

As expected, McAuliffe vetoed a bill that would have allowed Virginia to redirect Medicaid funding from abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood to other federally qualified healthcare centers (FQHCs) that are more numerous and provide more comprehensive care.
In his remarks, McAuliffe also likened North Carolina’s bathroom privacy law to the bill he vetoed as another example of discrimination that could harm Virginia’s business interests.

“Discrimination breeds hatred and we will not tolerate that in the commonwealth of Virginia,” he said. “We treat everyone equally, with dignity and respect.”

Government Watchdog Group Calls For Investigation Into Democratic FEC Official

Democratic Commissioner Ellen Weintraub used her official position to demand Trump show proof of voter fraud
The Washington Free Beacon first reported that FEC Commissioner Ellen Weintraub potentially ran afoul of ethics rules after using her position to call for Trump to produce evidence of claims that he and former Sen. Kelly Ayotte lost in New Hampshire due to voter fraud.

Weintraub released an official statement using an FEC header on Feb. 10 asking Trump to substantiate his claims of voter fraud. Weintraub continued her campaign online and attempted to recruit celebrities in her efforts. Additionally, she appeared on television in her official capacity to discuss her efforts.

“I told you they’ve got one blueprint, and it’s been successful for them for years, but it doesn’t work against Trump, and they haven’t figured that out.

“Bush was Hitler; Trump is Hitler. Bush lied, people died. Trump’s doing this, people are dying. Just change the issue. And people are getting worn out, not with Trump. They’re getting worn out with every day the left makes everything an apocalypse. Everything that’s happening is the end of the world.

“And, of course, it isn’t. And many people are very happy with what Trump is doing and the agenda he’s attempting. If there’s any unhappiness, I’m gonna tell you right now, if there’s any unhappiness, wariness or suspicion, it’s being aimed at Republicans on Capitol Hill, but not at The Donald.”
