For the eighth and final time our beloved leader will give a command performance, reading the lies others have written for him, as he has done his entire political life. In past SOTUs he has pretended to give a rat’s ass what Congress or the American people want. Boiled down to the basics it was, is, and will always be about him. I am not an influential member of the media but I can pretty much guess what some of his spewage will cover.
Gun control: He will upbraid the republicans for not whole-heartedly supporting his “common sense” gun grab, saying we must take guns out of people’s houses because accidents may happen. Also, his voters can break into your house, rob, beat, and likely murder you without fear. He would make the entire nation a “gun-free zone.” Of course he only has a year left but the socialists never stop attacking.
Economy: He will doubtless brag about the 5% unemployment rate, given there are 100 million working-age Americans not in the work force.
He will puff about all the new enrollees in Obamacare. This after he’s taken people’s preferred health plans away and forced them to take coverage that is either too expensive or the deductibles run into thousands and thousands of dollars before anything is covered. Being covered does not mean you have access to medical care in a timely manner. Plus, you are forced to take what he gives you or else you pay a penalty. Funny how that works.
He will whine about bringing more Muslim “refugees” here to further infest and endanger the public welfare. Oh, and Christians need not apply. In a final finger in the eye of the public there will be a “refugee” in the box with Barry’s brood sow.

Two officials from the Council on American-Islamic Relations will be attending the State of the Union address Tuesday as guests of Democratic lawmakers.

I say no to both of them right now. I could only make it through the first 7:30 of this 10:38 clip, but a few points:
1) Denis McDonough is very good at his job. He deflects the toughest questions and rephrases others to make Chris Wallace the crazy one (e.g., “Chris, were we just watching the same clip?”)
2) When presented with this daunting list of executive overreach (aka “tyranny”) Denis starts vamping interminably about the great and obvious accomplishments Obama has produced with such actions.
3) 30% of released Guantanamo inmates have been confirmed as returning to the battlefield? “Bush did it.”
This whole interview was like pinning Jell-O to the wall. I think Denis rhymes with penis, with a capital P and that rhymes with D and that stands for Dick. These guys just wear me out.

I like her. Not as a voter, of course, but seriously reforming our corrupt electoral process won’t happen in my lifetime. Iraq’s purple fingers have less corruption than Philly or Chicago or Newark.

I’ll admit, I skip a lot of the talking-head political ones – can only take so much Hillary or Barack after all. I skip them in my YouTube feeds as well. I used to watch them more, but with the election year, it’s overload.
Others, e.g. Trump on Meet the Press, PMSNBC edits out Brodderick question, Tulsa apartment fire lady, I’ve already seen.
You usually have at least something new to me. So, too many? I don’t think so. Always nice to have the option to watch, and remember there’s likely folks who come here, who may not comment, but for whom your posts are a primary resource.

The reason I started doing these posts is that most people have…well,…lives.I have the time but not always the fortitude to go through the universe of political sites,but try to find stuff people may not have seen.I’m planning to do another nostalgia post soon.I have loads of images and they’re always fun to remember what it was like when we were a strong country.

Oh now that’s just weird … I mention a Medal of Fortitude and in the very next comment Pete uses that same word “fortitude.” I swear I hadn’t read it yet, unless my Spidey sense was telling me tomorrow’s Powerball numbers or something.
On a slightly related note, Mindful … OMG!! I clicked on your links via Ace nick, and man oh man is it ever impressive! And through that I discover Bluebird also has a marvelous site! We already know Grunt is literally a rocket scientist. All of a sudden I feel like the slacker in the room. If I’d been aware of the high standards in this joint I woulda dressed better.
I suggest we name Obama’s empty SOTU chair the Honorary Clint Eastwood Chair.
That pic of Mooch uptop … it’s obvious she’s had some “work” done, and I gotta give her credit, she looks good, like 22 years old good. It’s almost like she could afford the best plastic surgeon in America or something.
And Syrian guest Refaai Hamo … leave it to these guys to find the one Michael Douglas doppelganger on the whole Muslim planet.
Finally, Pete, I literally check this site every day to see if you’ve left any patented acerbic news droppings. You and Vic over at Ace brook no fools, and aren’t shy about sharing. Chrissy (aka “Mama Moonshine” … see her last post) has created something wonderful here, not least of which is your timely contribution to the Cause of Freedom. Much appreciated. I know you’re mainly (and rightly) praising Pete and Chrissy’s work here, but I’m so glad you mentioned Mindful’s site! He really does have a crazy-good news digest and link-fest over there. And I think Bluebird has us all beat over at her beautiful place.
