NEW YORK — Donald Trump says the chances that he will launch a third-party White House run will “absolutely” increase if the Republican National Committee is unfair to him during the 2016 primary season.
“The RNC has not been supportive. They were always supportive when I was a contributor. I was their fair-haired boy,” the business mogul told The Hill in a 40-minute interview from his Manhattan office at Trump Tower on Wednesday. “The RNC has been, I think, very foolish.”

Social Security disability benefits may be cut in 2016

The trustees who oversee Social Security and Medicare said the disability trust fund will run out of money in late 2016. That would trigger an automatic 19 percent cut in benefits, unless Congress acts.
The average monthly benefit for disabled workers and their families is $1,017. The typical beneficiary would receive $193 less per month.
In more bad news for beneficiaries, the trustees project that there will be no cost-of-living increase in benefits at the end of the year. It would mark only the third year without an increase since automatic adjustments were adopted in 1975.

CLINTON DEPOSITIONS BLOCKED BY JUDGE
A federal judge in Florida has blocked a scheduled deposition of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in a civil lawsuit claiming the Clinton Foundation operated as a criminal enterprise.

The conservative watchdog group Freedom Watch, which brought the lawsuit against the Clintons, had scheduled separate videotaped depositions next week in Washington for the former president and first lady.
U.S. District Court Judge Donald Middlebrooks on Tuesday granted a protective order requested by the Clintons’ lawyers that blocked the depositions until the court resolves their pending motion to dismiss the case and halt discovery. The judge’s order did not include the reasoning for his decision.
Judge Middlebrooks was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida by Mr. Clinton in 1997.

Obama defends IRS, says tea party targeting didn’t happen
Barry defended the IRS Tuesday in an interview with “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart, saying the tea party-targeting scandal was actually Congress‘ fault for passing “a crummy law” and that the real problem is the agency doesn’t have enough money.
Mr. Obama, who has overseen a series of scandals at the IRS, the Veterans Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and now the Office of Personnel Management, was asked why government didn’t seem to be working on his watch.

Mediaite reports that MSNBC will announce on Thursday that three shows in their afternoon lineup will be cancelled.
The three reportedly set to be cut are roundtable discussion show The Cycle at 3 p.m. EST, Now with Alex Wagner at 4 p.m., and The Ed Show with Ed Schultz at 5 p.m.
Chuck Todd, who formerly hosted The Daily Rundown weekday mornings on the network, will take Schultz’s slot while continuing to moderate Meet the Press on Sundays.

A federal appeals court agreed Wednesday that one of the nation’s most restrictive abortion laws is unconstitutional — a North Dakota statute banning abortions when a fetal heartbeat is detected as early as six weeks into a pregnancy.
The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with a decision last year from U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland, who ruled the law unconstitutional. The law was approved by the Republican-dominated Legislature in 2013, though it was quickly put on hold after the state’s lone abortion clinic filed a lawsuit that July.

Chiming in with my two cents … we have readers who come here for me and readers who come here for Pete and readers who just can’t stay away no matter what we post. How do I know this? I watch our daily stats and comments.
I was yapping about this with Mama Buzz earlier this week and she said that, while she personally prefers Pete’s funny and nostalgic posts, she can definitely see where people who have more time than she does to follow what is happening to our country would find it comforting to read his rants. “It’s good to know someone else feels as strongly as you do.”
IMHO, the Good Lord gave me and Pete no life because He wants us here, doing this work. I believe it’s a ministry and I pray for all y’all every day.
