If it were not for all those pesky polls proving Republicans really are better informed, one might be tempted to dismiss these numbers as GOP arrogance. But since we cannot do so, maybe we should give a tad more weight to the overwhelming opinion of those 70%, better informed Americans who oppose raising the debt ceiling.
