      They must be really desperate if they have to resort to this crap! How many of us have EVER gone out to talk to the garbage or recycle or utility or whatever guys?

      I did take hot cocoa out to a couple chaps once during a record-breaking blizzard, because they’d been working non-stop for a long time right outside my basement apartment’s window. But that’s it.

      Come to think of it … I had a paper route for a year in high school and nobody ever thanked me or tipped me either. (The paper paid me directly.)

      One lady did hang out her window and scream at me one morning for cutting across her neighbor’s yard. Not hers mind you. A customer’s. She did not get the paper.

      And I had permission from the actual customer who actually owned the property, because his house backed on to the next nearest house on my route. I also had permission from THAT person to take the short cut.
