Praise for Sinning Done Right, Part Deux

Back in 2012, I wrote an essay called Praise for Sinning Done Right, that frankly, got me in a lot of trouble. It wasn’t about praising sin or explaining how to sin. It was merely praise for two people who had the guts to react to their own humiliating public sin in the right and proper way; that is, the Christian way.

Once again, I find myself unable to be silent as Bristol Palin confessed to the world a few hours ago that she was pregnant, out of wedlock, for the second time. Tomorrow, half the liberal world of punditry will be wagging their tongues in delight as they gloat over the moral failures of one of their very favorite targets.

To hell with those weasels. I say, God bless Bristol for handling this the way a godly Christian woman should, and I praise her for doing it bravely. What else could her parents ask for? I could ask for no more if she were my daughter. Until a month ago she was engaged to Dakota Meyer, a US Marine and a war hero. Apparently, as we now know, that engagement involved a little (slightly) pre-marital sex. Shame on them. As she put it, the fact that the engagement failed and she is now left pregnant is a “huge disappointment” for herself and for her family. Yes it is. Extra points for not denying the obvious facts, Bristol. Bless you for not distorting the truth in order to shield yourself from judgment as you face it with a bowed head and a steely disposition. You are a good example for untold numbers of women who, despite their best intentions, found themselves with a less than ideal outcome on the road to happily-ever-after.

Bristol Palin tells her side of the story

Sarah posted this at her Facebook: I understand that the CNN host who laughed at my daughter describing her assault has issued an apology to Politico. Why Politico needs an apology is anyone’s guess. No one at CNN contacted my family regarding an apology, in case you were wondering. … I’d like to say shame on the media and those on the left laughing at her or at any young woman in a similar situation, but I no longer think they have any shame.

Excerpt from Bristol’s blog:

I have mostly stayed out of the public eye for the past few years. I clock in and out of work – yes I actually have a job – like most middle class Americans and chip away at making my son’s life just a little bit easier. So why does the media still choose to put the Palins into an entirely different category of people? This “story” is still running over a month and a half later. Rumors still run wild, unsubstantiated claims are printed as true, and random people who weren’t even there are considered “eye witnesses.”

In the meantime, did you even hear about Vice President Joe Biden’s adult son who kicked out of the Navy for cocaine? (That’s the real Vice President’s kid…) So pause for a moment and consider the hysteria over our stupid “incident”, compared to our actual Vice President’s son not even being able to hold on to a position in the Navy Reserve.

I’m sure you heard the happy news that Chelsea Clinton had a baby. But did you know her father-in-law and Clinton family pal Edward Mezvinsky is a convicted felon because of committing bank, wire, and mail fraud?

Of course, you didn’t. Because the friends and family of the revered liberal elite are treated like delicate China. Don’t handle too roughly. They are precious. They are off limits. Don’t push on them too hard.

In the meantime, I was pushed and held down by some guy… and the media salivates like a dog that’s just been given a bone.

Here’s the thing. Violence against women is never okay… Even if that violence occurs against conservative women. Imagine for a second the outrage that would happen if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pushed by some guy. Had she tried to defend herself, the liberal media would’ve held her up as some feminist hero.

But it wasn’t Chelsea.

It wasn’t Hillary.

It wasn’t someone they liked or someone they agreed with.

It was a conservative.

And once again, the hypocrisy of the media is laid bare.
