Peaks and Valleys

Some days our little garden draws a lot of visitors, other days not too many. There is no way to gauge what people are interested in or looking for, because they’re mostly lurkers. That’s fine, most people never comment on anything publicly. Except me, because I don’t much care what anybody thinks. That much should be obvious after more than 6 1/2 years here. Still we persevere, much like the loser of the last presidential election. Except we have morals…and a conscience….and we’re not liars and thieves.

Trump says he won’t fire Mueller, wants probe to wrap up

FBI raid on Paul Manafort’s home indicates aggressive nature of Russia probe
An FBI raid last month at one of the homes of Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, provides the clearest evidence so far that special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is aggressively pursuing the investigation into the campaign’s dealings with Russia and of possible wrongdoing by Manafort.

Michael Savage on Manafort Raid: “Mueller Trying to Flip Someone”

It was Mueller and Comey by the way, mainly Mueller, in his period, where he had the FBI do the biggest Mafia roundups in New York history. And they have a standard operating procedure, which is that they flip people on the bottom and turning them into cooperating witnesses. And once they have a cooperating witness, they bring the next one down and the next one down.

There’s no question in my mind that this raid on Manafort, which came out of the blue, is Mueller trying to flip someone, if he hasn’t already flipped someone. Maybe he got someone underneath Manafort who flipped, and they got Manafort. They get Manafort, and Manafort’s gonna flip. It’s gonna go right up the chain. And they’re gonna get … a couple of them as cooperating witnesses.

[CtH: And what if there’s no one to flip and no evidence of wrongdoing despite this massive witch hunt?  Wouldn’t that be sweet?!]

Federal Judge Orders State Dept To Search Hillary Aides’ Accounts For Benghazi Records

Washington D.C. District Court Judge Amit Mehta, an Obama appointee, ordered State to search the accounts of Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills, and Jake Sullivan, Clinton’s top aides at the State Department, in response to a lawsuit filed by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch.
Mehta said that the State Department did not do enough to search for all emails it has on its computer systems regarding the Benghazi attacks, which left four Americans dead.
“It is remarkable that we had to battle both the Obama and Trump administrations to break through the State Department’s Benghazi stonewall. Why are Secretary Tillerson and Attorney General Sessions wasting taxpayer dollars protecting Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration?”

[CtH: Here is me praying Pete and I are both as wrong about this as we were about Trump.]

Hillary Clinton’s pastor compared her election loss to Jesus’ death and resurrectionSHILLLADY. WHAT AN APPROPRIATE NAME FOR A “SPIRITUAL ADVISER” TO MME. PANTSUIT.

[CtH: I’ll say!  How SICK is it to compare this vile woman with the Son of God!]

“You, our nation, our world, is experiencing a black Friday,” Rev. Bill Shillady wrote to Clinton on Nov. 9, 2016, CNN reported. “Our hope is that Sunday is coming. But it might well be hell for a while.”  One day after Clinton’s stunning defeat at the hands of Trump, Shillady wrote that “life is filled with a lot of Fridays” and Good Friday “represented the day that everything fell apart.”

“Today, you are experiencing a Friday. Your Friday is what happened in the last few weeks and last night in the tragic loss. But Sunday is coming!” Shillady wrote.

NY Times editorial writer will proclaim ignorance in response to Palin’s defamation lawsuit
Judge Jed Rakoff is handling the defamation lawsuit filed by Sarah Palin against the NY Times in June. “The Complaint alleges that the allegedly false statements of fact that are the subject of the Complaint were contradicted by information already set forth in prior news stories published by the Times.” He continues, “However, these prior stories arguably would only evidence actual malice if the person(s) who wrote the editorial were aware of them.”

[CtH:  LOL so true!]

[CtH: Wait, Pete … you said this was the funny section, not the Truth and Wisdom section! ::snork::]

The Coup D’Etat Rushes Forward

The media helped him win the Republican nomination and chuckled with glee. This reality TV star, this ego-maniacal showboat would pose no challenge to Mme. Hillary as she pursued the prize she coveted above everything. He drew turn-away crowds of tens of thousands. Hillary couldn’t fill a high school gymnasium. Not to worry, she has the vaunted “blue wall” of states that always, ALWAYS vote Democrat. Then the sh!t hit the fan.

Trump has been a marked man since the day he won. The Democrats and their sycophants in the media have savaged him every day. He wasn’t even allowed a peaceful inauguration day. He had no support from his own party as they have stood on the sidelines, preoccupied with not doing anything that would jeopardize their personal fiefdoms.

The president has assembled a staff through the process of trial and error. Some of his picks have worked well, others he got very bad advice about. The first thing he should have done is fire every last Obama appointee and Democrat career politician. It would leave huge gaps in differing departments, but when you rid your home of pestilence you must be thorough.

He waited far too long to fire James Comey and the Democrats bullied Jeff Sessions into recusing himself. This infuriated the president, who expected loyalty from those who serve under him. This led Rod Rosenstein to appoint uber-liberal Robert Mueller who was given unlimited power and resources and a mandate to find SOMETHING with which to try to force Trump out of office. He has a hand-picked squad of 16 professional Democrat assassins and has just empaneled a grand jury and moved if from Virginia, where Trump has support, to DC where he can get away with almost any dirty trick he chooses. Keep in mind that a grand jury is completely one-sided. The defense is not allowed in the room, the prosecutors can compel anyone to testify, they submit any unsubstantiated evidence without proof and this particular panel is sure to be made up of people who despise Trump. It will not end well. If they can’t pin anything on him, they’ll get his son.

Grand jury subpoenas issued in relation to Russian lawyer, Trump Jr. meeting

Mueller’s use of a grand jury could give him expansive tools to pursue evidence, including issuing subpoenas and compelling witnesses to testify. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported a grand jury was impaneled.

3 Reasons Why Trump Should Be Very Concerned That Mueller Impaneled a Grand Jury

#1: The Grand Jury Has Subpoena Power

Federal grand juries have the power to subpoena documents, and witnesses. That means that witnesses who may refuse to speak with investigators will be forced to testify under oath. If they lie, they can be charged with a a crime.

#2 Grand Jury Investigations Often Lead to Criminal Charges

“Typically if you are going to devote prosecutor manpower and agents to investigation, then usually charges will result,” Hockeimer said.

#3 Mueller made this move despite another federal grand jury investigating in Virginia.

We already knew that a grand jury was meeting in Alexandria, Virginia, to probe former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn over his work in the private sector on behalf of foreign interests. The fact that Mueller empaneled another grand jury means that the investigation has grown even wider.

White House Responds to Mueller Enlisting Grand Jury in Russia Investigation

Trump lawyer John Dowd told NBC News the president’s legal team has been “cooperating with Bob Mueller and his staff since the first of June because we’re trying to get this thing over and done with.”

Senators propose bill to protect Robert Mueller from being fired
The bill, introduced Thursday by Sens. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., and Chris Coons, D-Del., would allow a special counsel who is removed to challenge the firing in court. There, a three-judge panel would decide whether the special counsel’s removal was justified. If the judges decide there was no good cause for firing, the person would be reinstated as special counsel over the wishes of the president.

Someone Leaked Classified Transcripts Of Trump’s Phone Calls With Foreign Leaders

The Washington Post on Thursday published portions of classified transcripts of combative phone calls President Trump had earlier this year with the leaders of Mexico and Australia.

The transcripts portray acrimonious conversations between Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, largely on the issues of immigration, border wall funding and refugees.

Warner, Ranking Senate Intel Dem: Congress Ought to Investigate Leaked Trump Transcripts

Warner, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, told the Daily Beast that the leak is “disturbing.” He said that the president must be able to speak in private with foreign leaders.

“A president of the United States, a governor would tell us they’ve got to be able to have confidential conversations,” Warner said. “And I think it was disgraceful that those [came out].”

DNA discovery identifies living descendants of Biblical Canaanites

“In light of the enormously complex history of this region in the last few millennia, it was quite surprising that over 90 percent of the genetic ancestry of present-day Lebanese was derived from the Canaanites,” said Chris Tyler-Smith, senior group leader at The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, in a statement.

Refugee Admissions Under Trump: More Christians, Fewer Muslims

The first six months-plus of the Trump administration have brought a discernible shift in the religious affiliation breakdown of refugees admitted into the United States, with a larger proportion of Christians to Muslims among those resettled.

Palin lawyers blocked from grilling reporters in defamation suit

A Manhattan federal court judge will decide by the end of this month whether to dismiss a defamation lawsuit Sarah Palin filed against the New York Times for accusing the former Alaska governor of inciting gun violence.

In the meantime, Judge Jed Rakoff suspended discovery, blocking Palin’s lawyers from grilling two dozen Times reporters to prove the Gray Lady is biased against her.

Rakoff is a Clinton-appointed, activist judge. I suspect that this will not proceed.

Huckabee Sanders Rips Into Media: ‘You Want to Create a Narrative That Doesn’t Exist’
Sarah Huckabee Sanders sounded off passionately on Tuesday against the Russia collusion theories pushed by some in the media.

“You guys want to create a narrative that just doesn’t exist,” said the newly appointed press secretary, adding that they “seem obsessed.”

“Everybody wants to make try to make this some story about misleading,” she shot back to a question about Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Russian lawyer.

1 Million Illegal Immigrants To Have California Driver’s License By 2018

More than 905,000 illegal immigrants have a California driver’s license at this point, and that number could rise to more than a million by January of 2018.

By the end of June 2017, more than 900,000 drivers have been registered under California Assembly Bill 60, which requires only proof of identity and residency, not immigration status, in order to receive a license to drive a car.

Top EPA official resigns over direction of agency under Trump

The former EPA official made $249,000 in her last year of employment, according to the website, which compiles federal salary data.

For comparison, the average American’s salary is $44,000, according to the Census Bureau, and a senator or congressman makes $174,000 a year.

Southerland’s base salary was $185,100 in 2016. She got a $64,155 bonus that year, and, according to, she was in “highest-paid ten percent of employees” at EPA.

Elizabeth “Betsy” Southerland ended her 30-year run at the agency with a scathing exit letter in which she claimed that “the environmental field is suffering from the temporary triumph of myth over truth.” She last worked as the director of science and technology in the Office of Water.

“The truth is there is NO war on coal, there is NO economic crisis caused by environmental protection, and climate change IS caused by man’s activities,” Southerland wrote, directly rejecting many of Trump’s claims.

“The election of Donald Trump is really a kind of class rebellion against people like us, educated professionals who live in cities, who have cosmopolitan views about things,” Zakaria said.

Pinkerton: The ‘Hard Pivot’ from Health Care to Tax Reform and a Stronger Trump Agenda

We can look back and see that the repeal-and-replace effort was a valiant try at keeping a campaign promise, but it just wasn’t working. Sometimes, as Kenny Rogers might have put it, you’ve got to “Know when to fold ‘em/ Know when to walk away.” Yes, that’s the “the secret to survivin’.” As Trump has always said, failure can happen, but tactical flexibility is the key to long-term success.

Mindful of that survive-so-as-to-fight-again-and-win ethos, GOP leaders on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue have been making what’s been described by one insider as “a hard pivot to tax reform.”

Our Corrupt Media, by John Nolte

Barack Obama trafficked guns to Mexican drug lords, secretly delivered pallets filled with billions in cash to Iran’s America/Jew-hating mullahs, left four Americans to die in Benghazi and then lied about it, allowed his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to exchange government favors for hundreds of millions of dollars slushed into the Clinton Foundation, sic’d his IRS on everyday, law-abiding Americans, and used a trillion dollars in “stimulus” funds to pay off his cronies, like those behind a boondoggle called Solyndra.

And all along, over eight terrible years, our media did a whole lot more than just let Obama get away with it. They wholeheartedly colluded. They allowed Obama to persecute them through the Department of Justice and to lie to our face (remember: I just now read about it in the newspaper, the IRS did nothing wrong, you can keep your insurance). And when that wasn’t enough, the media mercilessly attacked as racist anyone who criticized the Precious and ginned up nothingburgers like Todd Akin to distract from those four dead Americans. And when even that wasn’t enough, they themselves lied and obfuscated, covered up and dissembled, and most of all they set all kinds of precedents that, in a delicious form of irony, are now driving this utterly failed institution to the edge of insanity.

The very same media that shrugged when Hillary Clinton set up a secret server, deleted 33,000 government emails, BleachBit’d whatever remained and then literally took a hammer to the devices — the media that set that precedent now wants us to get all worked up over Trump’s tweets?

The very same media that buried Bill Clinton’s perjury and his numerous victims of sexual abuse — the media that set those precedents now wants us to consider an Access Hollywood video a disqualifier for the presidency? Now wants us to freak out over an awkward handshake?

The very same media that gushed over Barack Obama’s magical ability to “slow-walk the truth” — the media that set that precedent now wants us to impeach Trump over how the details of his son’s meeting with a Russian lawyer have been released?

The very same media that joined Obama in pointing and laughing at Mitt Romney’s concern over Russia, the very same media that told us Obama’s serial-appeasement of Russia (refusing Poland missile defense, “more flexibility after the election”) was in reality an extraordinary form of statesmanship — the media that set those precedents now wants us to toss Trump out on his ear because he’s hoping to work with Putin?

The very same media that covered up the fact that Democrats and Team Hillary worked with the foreign government of Ukraine in the hopes of digging up dirt on Trump, the media that itself has used opposition research from the Russian government (the Golden Showers dossier) in the hopes of destroying Trump — the media that set those precedents now want us to turn on Trump because his son hoped for the same?

The very same media that again and again used “Republican overreach” as a tactic to damage the GOP whenever a Democrat scandal rose up — the media that set that precedent now wants us to side with them when the Trump administration chooses to communicate directly through social media?

The very same media that asked 23 follow-up questions of Trump and none of Hillary — the media that set that precedent now wants us to side with them when the White House limits the press briefings they can peacock in?

The very same media that said nothing when Obama hired a 9-11 Truther as a Czar (and later hired him as one of their own) — the media that set that precedent wants us to be upset over Ivanka and Jared?

The very same media that showed absolutely no interest in recovering even one of Hillary’s 33,000 illegally deleted emails — the media that set that precedent, now wants us to share their outrage over the fact that Don Jr. tried to recover them in a 20-minute meeting?

And now — now! — this very same media (with the help of #NeverTrump’s forever-preening moral narcissists) is using the spear of Muh Principles to demand that those of us on the political right agree to destroy ourselves in their corrupt crusade, that we acquiesce like second-class citizens to their separate sets of rules?

Like hell.

Serious Stuff

Democrats Sink To New Low in Favorability Polls
The strategy of resistance, obstruction and sabotage everything Trump is clearly not working. But there is zero indication Democrats plan to alter this strategy.
Fox news reports on the poll and asks Dem hack Brad Woodhouse about the new numbers. He starts with the usual talking points- Republicans gonna take away health care from 23 million

Texas judge who admitted to using ecstasy and marijuana and sexting her bailiff is suspended from the bench
Texas Justice of the Peace Hilary Green was suspended from the bench on Friday
Green, who has been serving since 2007, was suspended after allegedly admitting to using hard drugs and trading sexts with her bailiff
However, the 46-year-old mother-of-one says that her ‘misuse’ of drugs had no impact on her work life and she plans to fight the suspension

One Hamptons party explains what’s wrong with American politics
For anyone still wondering why Middle America’s so angry, just take a look at the guest list for the annual bash thrown by Washington Post heiress Lally Weymouth, currently the paper’s senior associate editor, in the Hamptons last week.

It was full of politicians and power brokers — the ones who pantomime outrage daily, accusing the other side of crushing the little guy, sure that the same voter will never guess that behind closed doors, they all get along.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner partied with billionaire Democratic donor George Soros, who rubbed shoulders with billionaire GOP donor David Koch.

Tim Kaine: Russia Investigation ‘Potentially’ Moving Toward ‘Treason’
The New York Times recently reported that Trump Jr. sought information that could be damaging to Hillary Clinton’s campaign in a meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.
“Do you think this is treason?” CNN’s Manu Raju asked Kaine, who was Clinton’s running mate in the 2016 election.
“Nothing’s been proven yet but we’re beyond obstruction of justice just in terms of what’s being investigated,” Kaine said. “This is moving into perjury, false statements, and even potentially treason.”

Republicans increasingly think colleges are harming the U.S.
A new survey from the Pew Research Center finds that a majority of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents (58 percent) now think that colleges and universities are having a negative impact on the United States. That’s up from 45 percent last year.
For comparison, most Democrats and Democratic leaners (72 percent) think that institutions of higher learning are having a positive effect on the country, which is consistent with poll results from recent years.
Attacks on free speech, political bias among professors and demonstrations seeking to cancel invitations to speakers with unpopular views have all become talking points among conservative pundits. Among the right, “safe spaces,” “trigger warnings” and “micro-aggressions” have become shorthand for thin-skinned liberal students who cannot handle opposing points of view.

‘Comedian’ George Lopez : ‘Make the Country Safe, Deport the Police!’
George Lopez should keep to “comedy” and leave politics to the adults.
“The Trump administration is deporting Latinos to make the streets safer. You wanna make the streets safer, deport the police.”
Lopez is just another entertainer trying to make himself relevant by mocking the president and bashing the police.
His message was met immediately with backlash.
Liberals want to make the argument that police are out hunting minorities, despite the fact that, time and again, this is proven false. And they wonder why they continue to lose public support!

Obama’s West Wing frat house. Aide tells how all-white speech team called each other ‘bro’, drank, exploited their jobs to sleep with women, made d*** jokes – and president deployed the f-bomb
In a lighthearted new memoir, former Senior Presidential Speechwriter David Litt recalls working for the president at the tender age of 24
In Thanks, Obama: My Hopey Changey White House Years, he pulls the curtain back on the president’s famed Correspondent’s dinner speeches
He also lifts the lid on the surprising bro-culture in the White House revealing how some aides called each other ‘bro’ and pretended to like college basketball
Litt admits some staff members used their credentials to sleep with women
He reveals Obama ditched an Osama bin Laden joke at the 2011 Correspondent’s dinner, weeks before the wanted man’s death
Although the former president always proved charismatic on stage, Litt said Obama struggled with timing during speech rehearsals.

Dem Mayor Under Indictment Wants Taxpayers to Buy Her a New Car
Mayor Randy “Rambo” McCallum Sr. came into office telling cops, “I run this mother___” and ordered them to rob competing drug dealers and split the money with him. When drug dealers were busted, the seized drugs and money were brought to his house where he pocketed the money and resold the drugs.
McCallum Sr. stole so much money that there were no bank deposits for a year. When an undercover informant went to his house, he found crack cocaine on the kitchen table being prepped for sale.
There’s more. There’s more than anything you want to imagine or believe. And now there are new events in Alorton’s political establishment.
The first agenda item under “new business” for tonight’s village board meeting after mayor elect Joann Reed’s swearing in is a proposal to buy her a new car at public expense for her exclusive use.
Reed is facing prosecution by St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly. She is charged with felony vote buying and misdemeanor electioneering. If convicted of the felony charge, Kelly could ask a judge to remove her from office…
Mayor JoAnn Reed, Alorton’s current mayor, faced her own set of charges before the election for smuggling a cell phone into jail after her niece had attacked a pregnant woman. The niece posted “I’m in jail but auntie snuck me my phone don’t tell no 1” on Facebook.
Despite these charges, Reed won the election.
She got $1,500 in campaign cash from the law firm of county Democratic boss Robert Sprague, $1,000 from the firm of Belleville attorney Tom Keefe, $8,000 from her attorney Mark Scoggins and $1,000 from County Board Chairman Mark Kern.
They served her cash and she served them the public’s votes. She again is facing a felony, this time for vote buying and electioneering.

A New Sheriff in Town

During the Obama years we were represented by a Muslim who constantly denigrated our way of life and seemed embarrassed to have to speak for the nation of racists he had taken command of.  The media fawned over the guy; the other real dictators in the world knew he was a worthless chump who could be taken for billions of taxpayer dollars. There was nothing we could do but cringe as this hapless clown made a fool of himself spouting empty words that nobody believed.

What a difference a year makes. President Trump and his stunning First Lady made a stop in Poland this morning on the way to Germany, fast becoming Muslim Merryland, thanks to Angela Merkel. The media sneered, still suffering butthurt from having outed a 15-year-old who made a video they didn’t like and having it blow up in their faces. As I watched it live this morning (about 4:00 a.m.), I thought about how fortunate we are, in this time when the murderous munchkin in North Korea is threatening a nuclear strike, that we have a leader with the balls to face him with the power to annihilate the country in a matter of minutes.

There are a few salient points he made in his speech, which I have tried to condense her, without much luck.  As always, I try to make the best use of your time by being brief.

Trump calls Poland exemplary ally against Russian ‘destabilizing behavior’

“We’ve discussed our mutual commitment to safeguarding the values at the heart of our alliance: freedom, sovereignty and the rule of law,” he said in a joint press conference after meeting Polish President Andrzej Duda. “We are working with Poland in response to Russia’s actions and destabilizing behavior. And we are grateful for the example Poland has set … by being one of the few nations that actually meets its (NATO’s) financial obligations.”

Trump warns North Korea of ‘severe’ consequences

The president said he has a range of options on how to deal with North Korean President Kim Jong Un but would rather not make them public.

“But I have some pretty severe things that we’re thinking about,” Trump said during a joint press conference Thursday with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

Trump on North Korea: Have severe things we’re thinking about

Trump swipes at EU: USA has made ‘most terrible’ deals in history & warns ‘IT WILL CHANGE’

He said: “We look forward to making the economic ties between United States and Poland stronger through our trading relationship – a balanced and reciprocal one.

“We want a reciprocal relationship. we don’t have too many of them.

“I have said before, the US has made some of the worst trade deals ever in history.

“That’s gonna change, that’s gonna change.”

Trump Renews Pledges in Warsaw After Obama’s Broken Promises to Prague

Trump’s affirmation of U.S. ties to the young democracies of Eastern Europe aims to restore relationships damaged by President Barack Obama, who spoke to the Czech people in Prague in 2009, only to turn his back on them — and on Poland — by abandoning missile defense later that year.

It is important to remember just how profound President Obama’s betrayal was. He promised the people of Prague:

So let me be clear: Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile activity poses a real threat, not just to the United States, but to Iran’s neighbors and our allies. The Czech Republic and Poland have been courageous in agreeing to host a defense against these missiles. As long as the threat from Iran persists, we will go forward with a missile defense system that is cost-effective and proven.

Obama did exactly the reverse of what he said he would do: he abandoned missile defense in Europe long before he reached a deal with Iran. That decision set the stage for an Iran deal that was considerably weaker than promised.

Worse, Obama informed the Czech prime minister of his decision on missile defense after midnight, and told the Polish prime minister on September 17, 2009, which was the 70th anniversary of the Nazi invasion of Poland.

Trump in Poland: ‘The West Will Never, Ever be Broken’

“Just as Poland cannot be broken, I declare today for the world to hear that the West will never, ever be broken,” Trump said. “Our values will prevail, our people will thrive and our civilization will triumph.”

“In the Polish people, we see the soul of Europe — your nation is great because your spirit is great and your spirit is strong,” Trump said, calling Poland the “geographic heart of Europe.”

CtH: We hosted a Polish exchange student many years ago. She now has a Ph.D. in Economics and we are Facebook friends.  When I posted this on my Timeline, she responded, “It was a GREAT speech.”

President Trump Salutes People of Poland: “One Million Poles Sang Three Simple Words ‘We Want God!’”

And when the day came on June 2nd, 1979, and 1 million Poles gathered around victory square for their very first mass with their Polish pope, that day every communist in Warsaw must have known that their oppressive system which soon come crashing down. (Applause) They must have known it at the exact moment during Pope John Paul II’s sermon when a million Polish men, women, and children, suddenly raised their voices in the single prayer. A million Polish people did not ask for wealth. They did not ask for privilege. Instead, 1 million Poles saying three simple words: ‘We want God.’”

HAH! Poles SHUT DOWN NBC Hack After She Tries to Sneak in Third Question

When NBC White House Correspondent Hallie Jackson tried to pin President Trump down on the reported Russian hacks during the election, he wouldn’t bite. She tried to slip in a third question on Obama, so the Poles stepped in:

“Dear Lady… it was two questions. Thank you very much. “

And with that President Trump and President Duda left the stage.

The Day After Comey’s Testimony

My email is chock full of summaries and commentaries. I’ll try to condense it down to the best few bits.

2017_06 08 Comey testimony by Branco

THE BIG PICTURE: Trump’s distrust of Comey was vindicated by what we now know about Comey.

  • Comey confirmed, again, that even as of his last day in office, Donald Trump was not personally the subject of FBI investigation, neither criminal nor counter-intelligence.
    • Despite media claims otherwise, this fact was not deemed worthy of public disclosure by Comey. IOW, he was happy to let Trump twist in the winds of misleading and false media claims.
  • Comey stated that a key New York Times report asserting Trump campaign collusion was substantively false.
    • Much of the Democrat and media frenzy over the past several months was based on this article.
  • Trump didn’t try to impede the Russia investigation.
    • In fact, he actually encouraged Comey to find out and expose whether any of Trump’s campaign “satellites” engaged in wrongdoing.
  • Comey arranged for a friend of his to leak a memo of his conversation with Trump about Michael Flynn to the NY Times.
    • That memo apparently has not even been given to the Senate Intelligence Committee.
    • The leaking of this memo may put Comey himself in legal jeopardy.
  • Comey admitted that then Attorney General Loretta Lynch pressured him to downplay the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email server to assist Clinton’s election efforts.
    • Comey admitted that he succumbed to Lynch’s pressure.
    • This should result in both a re-opened investigation of Hillary’s server and also a new investigation of Lynch.

SUMMARY: The so-called “resistance” is based totally on lies. It is and always has been nothing more than an attempt to undermine Trump’s ability to govern. It and not Trump’s presidency are the true threat to our electoral and representative system.
