Leaking classified info

COMEY: The acting FBI Chief FOIA Officer has confirmed that ALL of the documents then FBI Director James Comey leaked to a liberal reporter and friend to publish were classified at the time they were written and are still classified today.

18 U.S. Code § 798 – Disclosure of classified information

IRAN: From Vice President Pence: “The last administration’s refusal to act ultimately emboldened Iran’s tyrannical rulers to crack down on the dissent. The Green Revolution was ruthlessly put down, and the deadly silence on the streets of Iran matched the deafening silence from the White House. To this day, many Iranians blame the United States for abandoning them in their hour of need. Today, the Iranian people are once again rising up to demand freedom and opportunity, and under President Trump, the United States is standing with them. This time, we will not be silent.”

IRAN: The U.S. Treasury Department announced it’s placing new sanctions against five Iranian entities over ties to the country’s ballistic missile program and said that “additional sanctions targeting human rights abuses would be forthcoming.”

TAX CUTS: To date, more than 100 companies are giving “Trump bonuses” after the Republicans’ historic tax victory. “There is a broad and deep tsunami building,” John Kartch of Americans for Tax Reform tells the paper, as businesses across the country look to raise wages, increase charitable giving, and extend bonuses.

REFUGEES: Violent crime in Germany rose by about 10% in 2015 and 2016. A study found that 90% of that crime was attributed to young male refugees.

DRUGS: Under Obama, states were advised the DOJ would not obstruct states that legalized marijuana, despite the fact that marijuana use is illegal under federal law. Trump’s DOJ has just rescinded all that policy.

Michael Flynn… It’s Complicated

Actually, not so much when you get right down to it. Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI. He could have been charged with a number of other offenses. This led to speculation that he flipped and is cooperating with the Mueller inquisition in his jihad against President Trump. The Dow plunged about 300 points after the news broke but gained most of it back by the end of the day. At this point it’s all speculation. Trump’s attorney says it’s a nothing burger, as does Andrew McCarthy. The left is making messes in their underwear at the fantasy of the president’s demise dances in their heads like so many sugar plums. I went to Yahoo, which is as hard left as HuffPo, and tried to read some of the comments. They were absolutely giddy at the thought of a possible impeachment.

Michael Flynn Pleads Guilty to Lying to the FBI; Now Cooperating with Mueller

ABC’s Brian Ross: Flynn Prepared To Testify Against Trump, Trump Family, White House Staff
JUST IN: @BrianRoss on @ABC News Special Report: Michael Flynn promised “full cooperation to the Mueller team” and is prepared to testify that as a candidate, Donald Trump “directed him to make contact with the Russians.”
UPDATE: ABC News has deleted the above video of Ross’ report from Friday morning after investigative reporter Brian Ross retracted the explosive claim that Flynn would be willing to testify against Trump.
Ross said on ABC World News Tonight that incoming President Trump, not candidate Trump, instructed Flynn to speak to the Russians, a chasm between the original report that the Republican nominee made the request.
He said the President asked Flynn to contact Russia during the campaign. He’s now clarifying that statement, saying, according to Flynn, candidate Trump asked him during the campaign to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other hot spots and then after the election, the President-elect asked him — and told him to contact Russia on other issues, including working together to fight ISIS, David.”

Donald Trump ‘the candidate’ did not commit a crime: Gregg Jarrett

Former Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn plead guilty Friday to charges of lying to the FBI. Now there are reports Flynn was urged by then-candidate Donald Trump to talk to the Russians in potential violation of the Logan Act, a 1799 law which bars private citizens from negotiating with foreign governments.
But Fox News anchor and attorney Gregg Jarrett told the FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto this would not violate the Logan Act.
“No, it wouldn’t…Nobody’s ever been prosecuted under it. Why? Because the federal courts, especially a New York U.S. federal court, said in 1964 it’s unconstitutional,” Jarrett said.

What the Flynn Plea Means
Flynn, an early backer of Donald Trump and a fierce critic of Obama’s national-security policies, was generally despised by Obama administration officials. Hence, there has always been cynical suspicion that the decision to interview him was driven by the expectation that he would provide the FBI with an account inconsistent with the recorded conversation — i.e., that Flynn was being set up for prosecution on a process crime.
While initial reporting is portraying Flynn’s guilty plea as a major breakthrough in Mueller’s investigation of potential Trump-campaign collusion with the Russian regime, I suspect the opposite is true.
In his guilty-plea allocution (the part of a plea proceeding in which the defendant admits what he did that makes him guilty), the accomplice explains the scheme and the actions taken by himself and his co-conspirators to carry it out. This goes a long way toward proving the case against all of the subjects of the investigation.
That is not happening in Flynn’s situation. Instead, like Papadopoulos, he is being permitted to plead guilty to a mere process crime.
Meanwhile, the only major case Mueller has brought, against former Trump-campaign chairman Paul Manafort and an associate, has nothing to do with the 2016 election. It is becoming increasingly palpable that, whatever “collusion” means, there was no actionable, conspiratorial complicity by the Trump campaign in the Kremlin’s machinations.

ROGER STONE: Mueller Used False Intelligence From Joe Biden & Susan Rice To Charge General Flynn
Flynn’s decision to make false statements to the FBI is leaving many wondering, if the phone calls were sanctioned by the Obama administration and cleared of wrongdoing by Comey’s FBI, why didn’t the former military man just tell the truth?
Perhaps we may have the answer.

Dirty Cop Comey Gloats After General Flynn Pleads Guilty
Dirty cop Comey gloated after it was reported that General Michael Flynn will plead guilty to lying to the FBI deep state operatives in the ongoing Trump witch hunt today.
Once again — this verdict has NOTHING TO DO with Trump-Russia collusion.
It’s just a way for the Democrat media and Deep State to erase an election and eliminate Donald Trump.
After the news broke of Flynn, Comey gloated by quoting Bible scripture saying ‘justice will roll down like water..’, a quote from the book of Amos. He attached an Instagram picture of the Great Falls of the Potomac to the tweet.
Comey is quoting Amos 5:24 which is interpreted by many as a threat of chastisement– judgment will roll over the land and bring justice. The righteous will prevail and drive out the wicked.
James Comey has a lot of nerve acting holier than thou after he leaked classified memos of his conversations with President Trump to a friend in order to prompt a Special Counsel.

White House Plays Down Importance Of Flynn Guilty Plea
“The false statements involved mirror the false statements to White House officials which resulted in his resignation in February of this year,” Cobb said in a statement released to reporters. “Nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn.

Trump White House Caught Off Guard by Michael Flynn Plea: ‘Their Own Counsel Didn’t Know’
“No one in the White House was prepared.”
That is how Politico began its article Friday afternoon, reporting that the White House legal team dealing with the Russia investigation, headed by Ty Cobb, was taken completely by surprise when former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI earlier in the day.
As Breitbart News had already more than a week ago, the New York Times reported on Thanksgiving that Flynn’s lawyers had terminated an agreement with President Donald Trump’s legal team to share information about the probe. As the Times noted, that termination would have made sense if Flynn had begun cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller. And, indeed, other reports in the days that followed seemed to indicate that was likely.

Rush Limbaugh Explains Why Flynn’s Guilty Plea Shows Mueller Has NOTHING on Trump
“But there is nothing unusual about that. Once again, the lack of understanding by the drive-by media reporters — oh — Flynn’s pulling out of the joint agreement to share information, that means he’s getting ready to flip.”
“No, it meant he was getting ready to make a deal with the prosecutor, as such, it becomes unethical for the two lawyers or teams to communicate with each other when one of the people involved is going to cop a plea,” Limbaugh said.

Flynn could deliver a knockout blow to Trump
Trump’s defenders will argue that this still does not touch on the underlying issue of collusion with Russia. That’s true but misses the point. If there was collusion, Flynn almost certainly would have known about it. He was both Trump’s closet foreign policy adviser and a pro-Russia operator who traveled to Russia to give a lavishly compensated speech and appeared on RT, Russia’s propaganda network, which he asserted was no different than any American news outlet. (RT has since been required to register as a foreign agent.) Trump can claim all he wants that the Russia investigation is a hoax, but if Flynn provides direct evidence implicating Trump, the president’s days in office are numbered.

MSNBC Contributor On Flynn Charges: ‘Historic Day’, ‘Could Be The Beginning Of The End’
MSNBC contributor and Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks declared that it “could be the beginning of the end” over Michael Flynn’s guilty plea.
“So, yes, this is a historic day and could be the beginning of the end. I think the comparison to John Dean is very apt, because he was the person who had the inside knowledge and who really opened the doors to what was really going on in the White House,” Wine-Banks stated.
“And that could be what is happening here with Flynn,” she added.

Mueller’s Quest for The Donald: Making sense of the Michael Flynn plea
Mueller wants The Donald more than anything Mueller ever has wanted before in his prosecutorial and law enforcement career.
A somewhat moribund Russia-collusion conspiracy community sprang back to life instantaneously. The treason-choir found its voice again.
Pundits speculated endlessly about what it all means — in a distinctly binary manner: Trump is a gonner, or it’s a big nothing burger.
The Logan Act, that never-enforced hobgoblin of small minds, was trending.
So what to make of the latest feeding frenzy?
The only thing of which I am certain is that Mueller wants Donald Trump to take a perp walk, or at least be impeached based on the findings of Mueller’s investigation. Mueller wants it more than Mueller has ever wanted anything before in his law enforcement and prosecutorial life. And he will stop at nothing to get The Donald. Sure, he’ll charge or convict Manafort and Flynn, and anyone else he can find, but they are just stepping stones.

The more time I spend away from the toxic waste dump the more difficult it is to wade back into it.

My trip with RJ last Friday went really well. We caught a variety of fish, including largemouth and smallmouth bass, yellow perch, and he caught is first walleye. He wanted to keep it, but it was about 3″ too short to be legal.

His friend, Jacob

Jake and his dad with some fat bluegills

On Saturday, I watched RJs baseball game and yesterday was Big Sis’ first game of her summer volleyball league.

I enjoy my beautiful grandchildren so much, it’s difficult to consider the violence, the anger, the lies and the blatant hypocrisy that is American politics today.

The one takeaway from the Comey hearings last week was that he was perfectly willing to lie for Loretta Lynch and Hillary Clinton, but NOT tell the truth for Donald Trump. There were a lot of people, including yours truly, that felt Trump should have canned him, along with every other influential member of Obama’s regime.

The president got some bad advice from Priebus, among others, and he has suffered for it as the leaks and the sabotage of his agenda has gone on from day one. The latest is that he is considering firing special counsel Robert Mueller. He never should have given in to the Democrats and appointed anybody. Mueller is a close friend of Comey and his investigative team is stacked with former Obama operatives.

Comey and Mueller have a history as a Deep State tag team

According to Michael Isikoff, writing in 2006, the FBI (then headed by Mueller) and an unnamed “senior Department of Justice official” were advised in October 2003 that Armitage was the man who leaked Plame’s identity – and yet two months later, upon his appointment to be deputy attorney general, James Comey appointed his friend Patrick Fitzgerald to investigate the leak. It’s hard to believe he didn’t at the time know full well who the leaker was.

Professor Jacobson at Legal Insurrection indicates that Comey’s testimony suggests that Mueller is already going beyond the narrow mandate of Acting Attorney General Rosenstein and considering whether the president’s discussion with him about General Flynn constitutes “obstruction.”

Trump at risk from Comey/Mueller: If “they don’t get you on the crime, they get you on the process”

Robert Mueller, if he is going to consider the alleged obstruction of justice asserted by James Comey,  should not be the prosecutor or investigator in this because he is friendly with a key witness, James Comey.  So that’s what I meant when I said ‘friends should not be investigating friends.’  And Robert Mueller, if he is considering Trump’s asserted obstruction of justice, cannot and should not be the investigator on this case.”

Members of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Legal Team Donated To Democrats -FEC

One of the lawyers, James Quarles donated to Barack Obama and to Hillary Clinton.
Once again, nothing to see here….

Three of the five lawyers have donations in FEC records. They gave overwhelmingly to Democrats, totaling more than $53,000 since 1988.

James Quarles, whom Mueller brought over from his old firm, WilmerHale, has given nearly $33,000 to political campaigns over the years. He gave money to Democratic presidential candidates Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, John Kerry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Comey’s SECOND Meeting With Loretta Lynch Reveals He Confronted Her About Political Interference

Ex-FBI Director James Comey has privately told members of Congress that he had a frosty exchange with Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch last year when he confronted her about possible political interference in the Hillary Clinton email investigation after showing Lynch a sensitive document she was unaware the FBI possessed, according to sources who were directly briefed on the matter.

In multiple private sessions over the last few months, Comey has told lawmakers about a second, later confrontation with Lynch shortly before the email probe was shut down.

Trump Considering Firing Special Counsel Mueller …Update: Not Likely

The whole purpose of the special counsel is to have a prosecutor from outside the government and outside of the normal chain of command because inherent conflicts render the Justice Department incapable of handling it. So, now the special counsel is a close friend (mentor/mentee relationship) with the star witness, who by his own admission leaked the memos at least in part to engineer the appointment of a special counsel. Only in Washington. You can’t make this stuff up.”

Obama DOJ Tried to Influence Presidential Election

Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch told Obama’s FBI Director James Comey to publicly misrepresent and downplay the FBI’s investigation into Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information.

Against Security Advice

“The big anti-corruption news isn’t Comey’s testimony. It’s this new email Judicial Watch uncovered from #HillaryClinton confirming that, as she says, ‘Against the advice from security hawks, I still carry my Blackberry.’

Remember, #JamesComey said that Mrs. Clinton shouldn’t be prosecuted because she didn’t have the intent. This email blows that out of the water and shows why Mrs. Clinton should be held accountable to the full extent of the law.”

Good point in the comments: “There is nothing in any laws that allows intent as a defense. Besides this would be an issue for the judge and jury not the investigative police.”

The Day After Comey’s Testimony

My email is chock full of summaries and commentaries. I’ll try to condense it down to the best few bits.

2017_06 08 Comey testimony by Branco

THE BIG PICTURE: Trump’s distrust of Comey was vindicated by what we now know about Comey.

  • Comey confirmed, again, that even as of his last day in office, Donald Trump was not personally the subject of FBI investigation, neither criminal nor counter-intelligence.
    • Despite media claims otherwise, this fact was not deemed worthy of public disclosure by Comey. IOW, he was happy to let Trump twist in the winds of misleading and false media claims.
  • Comey stated that a key New York Times report asserting Trump campaign collusion was substantively false.
    • Much of the Democrat and media frenzy over the past several months was based on this article.
  • Trump didn’t try to impede the Russia investigation.
    • In fact, he actually encouraged Comey to find out and expose whether any of Trump’s campaign “satellites” engaged in wrongdoing.
  • Comey arranged for a friend of his to leak a memo of his conversation with Trump about Michael Flynn to the NY Times.
    • That memo apparently has not even been given to the Senate Intelligence Committee.
    • The leaking of this memo may put Comey himself in legal jeopardy.
  • Comey admitted that then Attorney General Loretta Lynch pressured him to downplay the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email server to assist Clinton’s election efforts.
    • Comey admitted that he succumbed to Lynch’s pressure.
    • This should result in both a re-opened investigation of Hillary’s server and also a new investigation of Lynch.

SUMMARY: The so-called “resistance” is based totally on lies. It is and always has been nothing more than an attempt to undermine Trump’s ability to govern. It and not Trump’s presidency are the true threat to our electoral and representative system.

The Comey Hearings

Unless you’ve been in Siberia and just got back this morning, you’re aware that the Jim Comey Show is on today. The networks are desperate to get something, anything, on Trump. After 10 months and counting, they refuse to accept there’s no “there” there. One network is pre-empting “All My Children” and the others are doing cut-ins. I remember when there were only 3 stations and Granny would be livid when they interrupted ‘her stories’ because the president was addressing the nation.

There are threads with the latest popping all over, so it makes no sense to post much until after all is said and done.

Here are two short clips of democrats hoping to get the goods on the president they loathe more than cancer:

Comey: No, Trump Didn’t Tell Me To Stop The Investigation

Comey Never Kept Detailed Memos on His Conversations With Obama Like He Did With Trump

Why didn’t Comey document his conversations with Obama? Comey continues to prove to the public that President Trump’s decision to fire him was the right thing to do.  Comey is beyond corrupt.

It’s no surprise that a lawsuit was filed against Comey late Monday night by Dennis Montgomery alleging he provided overwhelming evidence to the FBI of illegal spying on Americans and they covered it up.

Comey Took Notes of Every Trump Meeting But Did Not Record Hillary’s 3 Hour Interrogation

The lack of a sworn oath does not remove the possibility of criminal penalties against Clinton if she lied to the FBI, though he said he had “no basis to conclude” that she was untruthful.

“Still a crime to lie to us,” Comey told the House Oversight Committee.

FBI policy is not to record interviews as part of its investigations.

Yet the revelations will nonetheless raise questions among Republicans, who have been skeptical of the FBI’s investigation and have demanded to see the transcript of the former Secretary of State’s interview in downtown Washington on Saturday.

Following Comey Testimony, Trump Tells Conservatives ‘We Are Under Siege’

The entrenched interests and failed bitter voices in Washington will do everything in their power to stop us from this righteous cause,” Trump continued on to say. “To stop all of you. They will lie, they will obstruct, they will spread their hatred and prejudice, but we will not back down from doing what is right.”

What’s Really Important

There is a lot going on in the state of world affairs, to be sure. Terrorists in London, the Comey hearings, the GA-6th debate, etc. While these may be important, they pale in comparison to an upcoming event Friday morning. I booked a guided fishing trip months ago with a friend, his son, and my R.J. I had no idea which lake we were going to and he won’t answer his cell phone. The old lady at the bait shop was of little help when I called, she only said: ‘Where do you want to go?’ Walworth County, Wisconsin, has numerous lakes and I assumed he would decide. Apparently not. I chose Lake Delavan and she gave me directions to one of the three boat launches on the lake. I’m getting a little obsessive, but I don’t want anything to go wrong since my grandson has looked forward to this for months. Fishing with him is one of the few real joys in my life anymore.

Now onto the crap.

DC Swamp Goes Crazy for James Comey Hearing

The Washington establishment and media elite has gone into a full-blown craze over a Senate hearing on Thursday featuring fired FBI Director James Comey.

And while the media continued to hype the hearing, some began expressing worry the hearing would not live up to the hype.

The Senate Intelligence Committee hearing is slated to begin at 10 a.m. eastern and begin with opening statements from the chairman and vice chairman of the committee. Comey will then deliver an opening statement, and senators will have the opportunity to question Comey, with multiple rounds of questions expected. The hearing is expected to last hours. The closed hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. eastern.

Sessions Is Said to Have Offered to Resign

The situation between Mr. Sessions and Mr. Trump has grown so tense that the attorney general told Mr. Trump in recent weeks that he needed the freedom to do his job and that he could resign if that was what was wanted, according to the two people who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal White House matters. Mr. Trump did not take him up on the offer.

A spokesman for Mr. Sessions declined to comment. A White House spokeswoman did not respond to an email seeking comment.

Jeff Sessions Got Played by Democrats When He Recused Himself from Russian Witch Hunt

Sessions made the announcement in March that he would recuse himself from the Russian investigation — in an effort to appease liberal Democrats.

And the Russian conspiracy continues to make headlines in the liberal media day after day.

Trump is right to be angry.

ABC reported: “As the White House braces for former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony Thursday, sources tell ABC News the relationship between President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions has become so tense that Sessions at one point recently even suggested he could resign.

Trump’s anger over the recusal has not diminished with time. Two sources close to the president say he has lashed out repeatedly at the attorney general in private meetings, blaming the recusal for the expansion of the Russia investigation, now overseen by Special Counsel and former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Spicer on Trump’s confidence in Sessions: I haven’t spoken to him about that.

As part of the debate format, the candidates were given the opportunity to ask each other questions. As someone who lives outside the district, Ossoff is unable to cast a vote for himself. It went downhill from there for Ossoff.

They Just Won’t Go Away: Michelle Obama Trashes Trump at Apple Conference

The last time we saw Michelle Obama, she was flaunting her poor fashion sense in Italy.  This week the former First Lady was a surprise guest at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in California.  She delivered a fireside chat where she trashed President Trump over global warming junk science and his temporary travel ban from failed Islamist states.

Michelle Obama: “I think my message earlier was, you know, think about that higher purpose. Because we are at a time in this country when we need problem solvers out there who are committed who believe in this country who believe in the value of diversity and believe in, you know, the value of immigrants, and believe that global warming is real.”

Ugh.  Won’t these people please just go away.  You’ve done enough damage Michelle for one lifetime.  Now shoo.
