The Donald Does Dinner

The president hosted his first state dinner last evening, honoring President Macron of France and his wife. The event was arranged largely by our stunning First Lady. President Trump held a press opportunity before the gala and reminded everybody he was in charge.

A toast to ‘unbreakable friendship’: Trump and Melania pull out all the stops as they host President Macron, the French first lady and 120 guests at the White House for glittering state dinner
President Donald Trump and wife Melania welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron and wife Brigitte to the White House Tuesday night for their first state dinner
The Trumps held hands on the steps of the White House before they each exchanged kisses with the Macrons
Melania stole the show in a Chanel haute couture silver gown embroidered with crystals and sequins
In a toast before Tuesday’s dinner honoring France, Trump described his wife as ‘America’s absolutely incredible first lady’
He went on to raise a glass to President Macron saying: ‘May our friendship grow even deeper’
Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner were among the first to arrive with the first daughter wearing a $12,000 pink Rodarte gown
All eyes were on Melania as she stole the show in a Chanel black Chantilly lace haute couture gown that had been hand-painted with silver and embroidered with crystal and sequins.
The First Lady paired her gown with a pair of gunmetal stilettos.
Brigitte Macron opted for a Louis Vuitton cream full-length gown with long sleeves and gold brocade detail.

Melania meticulously plans first State Dinner
In a departure from past State Dinners, the president is not inviting any Democrat lawmakers or members of the press to the shindig that will celebrate the historical ties between the two countries and mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
But then, given the shameful way Democrats have treated President Trump, who can blame him?
The menu for Tuesday dinner will include three courses featuring American dishes with French influences, according to The Hill. The main course will consist of a rack of spring lamb with Carolina gold rice jambalaya, cooked New Orleans’ style.
Wines made from French plants harvested in Oregon will also be served.
CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller tweeted specific details of the menu:

Macron Rests Hand On Trump’s Arm After Trump Mentions Hero French Policeman
“This righteous calling, this sacred heritage, is what moved a young Frenchman to risk death for American liberty at Yorktown. It is what spurred the Americans to storm the cliffs of Omaha Beach,” he continued. “Just weeks ago, we added a new name to this chronicle of our great heroes, a brave French policeman named Arnaud Beltrame. He stared down evil and did not flinch.”
Beltrame willingly traded places with a hostage during a standoff in March. He died of injuries sustained in the incident and was later awarded with a French national honor.

“Stupid, Stupid Question” – Trump Slaps Down Liberal Hack Jonathan Karl
Karl asked Trump whether he was considering a pardon for his attorney Michael Cohen — who has not been charged with any crimes by the Mueller special counsel.
Trump responded, “Stupid, stupid question.”

Andrea Mitchell Incorrectly Claims Macron Is Serving A Four-Year Term
Andrea Mitchell, NBC’s chief foreign affairs correspondent, stated on MSNBC Tuesday that French President Emmanuel Macron is serving a “four-year term,” which is not true.
France passed a constitutional amendment in 2001 that reduced the presidential term from seven to five years.

Trump Warns: If Iran Threatens Us, They Will Pay “A Price Like Few Countries Have Ever Paid”

At a White House press conference with the French President, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran to never threaten the U.S. with nuclear weapons, or pay “a price like few countries have ever paid.”
He also warned the Arab States that they are going to have to pay if the U.S. is going to protect them from Iran, saying “the United States is embarrassingly into the Middle East.” Trump said states like Qatar, Kuwait, the U.A.E., and Saudi Arabia are “immensely wealthy” and “would not be there if it were not for the United States (and to a lesser extent, France).”
The United States will not continue to pay, and [the Gulf States] will also put soldiers on the ground, which they are not doing. We will, in fact, bring lots of people home, and we will have a strong blockage to the Mediterranean, which to me is very important. Because if we don’t you have Iran going right to the Mediterranean and we will not have that.

Merkel Headed for a ‘Cold Reception’ in Washington, German Press Fears
‘Fanfare for Macron, Cold Shoulder for Merkel,’ laments the leading German daily ahead of the Friday visit
“Merkel wants to save Multilateralism: the existence of global economic order. Germany, an export nation, is especially worried at the prospect of trade agreements and duty-free [market access] losing their validity” HUFFPOST wrote, alluding to the recent measures taken by the US government to raise tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum imports.
“Furthermore, it will be about the international trouble spots–primarily Syria. The US has lost trust globally, but recently France and Great Britain supported military strike against the Assad regime,” the left-wing news outlet added. Germany did not take part in that mission.

When Democrats Do Foreign Policy

Remember when Obama sent Hillary to Russia to “reset” our relationship following President Meany Pants Bush’s terrible reign?

Remember when Obama mocked Romney for saying Russia was a serious foe?

Remember when the Democrats went all McCarthy hysterical about Trump talking with the Russkies?

Dinner with the Afghan Ambassador

From Benny Johnson at the Independent Journal Review (excerpted):

The Obama administration dealt with a light, often inconsequential, hand in diplomatic relationships.  Within this leadership vacuum, Afghanistan experienced a sharp, bloody uptick in terrorist attacks by Taliban forces and an economic upheaval.

On Friday night, Dr. Hamdullah Mohib (the current Afghan Ambassador to the United States) hosted a dinner at his residence for approximately one dozen widows of American soldiers who gave their lives fighting in his home country.

The ambassador was asked how the people of Afghanistan viewed President Trump. His answer stunned those listening, not only for its candor but also for its rare insight into how the president approaches foreign policy. His full response to the question:

I’ve personally met with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago and the president has had two phone conversations with President Ghani [The president of Afghanistan]. One call was after he won the election and one after [Trump] became president. Before the calls, we were advised to keep conversations short because, we were told, Trump will not be interested in the details of the call and does not have a long attention span, so it would be pointless to have a long call.

However, we were pleasantly surprised at how much time President Trump spent asking very informed questions. The first time the presidents spoke, the questions Trump asked impressed us. “How can you win in this fight [against terrorism]?” he asked. “What do you need to become financially independent?” and “How can American business invest in Afghanistan? How can we develop businesses and mining in your country?”

Trump would listen intently after each question, often asking follow-ups. Trump’s second call with our president was even longer than the first. Asking these types of questions for our country is something the Obama administration never did. The Obama administration was the most academic administration we have ever had to deal with but the Trump administration has been the most thoughtful and intelligent.

Trump continually asked “How can you win? What does Afghanistan need to win?” in reference to our fight with terrorism. Trump wants to win. Sincerely. All the Obama administration wanted to do was not lose.

The Obama administration was hesitant with us. The enemy could sense that. When the Obama administration announced its plans to pull troops out of the region, they announced the exact date they would do it. All our enemies had to do was wait [Obama] out. They knew the date they had to hang on until — which gave them the will to fight. They used that time to recruit and build up resources.

To bring real reform, we must be able to defeat enemies outside our country and inside. We must overthrow the Afghan warlords who are profiteering off the war. Every time we tried to remove one of them from power, [Secretary John] Kerry would say “no” because it would potentially make it unstable and require more troops be brought in. The entire Obama administration was too cautious, but Kerry was the most cautious. Perhaps the Obama administration was fatigued by the time we assumed power. [President Ghani assumed power in September of 2014.] But Trump is very different from Obama in this way.

This is good, for the future of Afghanistan.

The comments at the dinner were very well-received by the Gold Star widows.  One said Obama’s actions in Afghanistan were an “insult” to her husband’s legacy and what he fought for. The ambassador said he hoped to honor legacies of Americans and Afghans alike by creating a stable, free, democratic society in his country.

Trump-era diplomacy is very much in its infancy. Yet even in his first few days as America’s chief diplomat, the president is doing what he promised; making big, big waves.

Obama Legacy

During the third presidential debate in October 2012, Obama ridiculed Romney for allegedly holding to a foreign policy that was “stuck in the 1980s.” Of course, NOW Obama is worried about Russia.

Sunday, Snowy Sunday

Northern Illinois is getting their first taste of snow for the season. They originally forecast 1-3″, but have revised it to 3-5″. These same “experts” can state unequivocally that the temperature will rise 1/10th of a degree in 200 years so we must throw trillions in tax money to third world toilets to combat “climate change.”
The sad sack Chicago Bears are playing the equally inept San Francisco 49ers. Chicago is 2-9, the 49ers even worse at 1-10. It’s such a sad state of affairs Chicago fans are hoping for a loss to move up in the order for the college draft next May. It looks like the game is being played in a snow globe.

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl Requests Pardon from Obama Before Trump Takes Office
The pardon would avert Bergdahl’s court-martial trial, which is slated to begin April 18.
He is facing charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy that endangered fellow soldiers.
President-elect Donald Trump criticized Bergdahl on the campaign trail, calling him a “dirty, rotten traitor” who “should have been executed,” the Hill reported.

Ex-Con Jesse Jackson Jr. Urges President Obama To Pardon Millions Of Ex-Cons And His Wife

Will Obama pardon Clinton and cement his legacy?
Before there’s any more talk of carving out a chunk of Mt. Rushmore for him, or more talk of statues or temples in his name, there is that Hillary Clinton pardon issue.
Would Obama give his former secretary of state a preemptory get-out-of-jail card before he leaves office and turns the White House over to Donald Trump?

Texas Gov: Sanctuary Campuses Will Lose State Funding
Texas Gov. Greg Abbot says the state will cut off funding to any public school that declares itself a “sanctuary campus” for illegal immigrants.
Abbot made the announcement Thursday via Twitter, in response to a petition effort in the state by students seeking to have their universities protect illegal immigrants. Abbott made it clear such a move wouldn’t fly in Texas.

Obama, Senate Democrats Trying to Keep FCC Democrat Controlled Under Trump Administration
Harry Reid and President Obama are circulating a petition to remove the hold on FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel so that she can be reconfirmed before Congress recesses next week
If Obama and the Senate Democrats successfully reconfirm Rosenworcel, the FCC will remain in Democratic control during President-elect Trump’s administration. Her reconfirmation would block Trump’s ability to nominate both Jamison and Eisenach.

Edward Snowden, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and dozens of movie stars were registered to vote in District 15 according to Mr. Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan tested a sample of 200 people of the 9,200 return mail and found that 185 of those had indeed voted.
Mr. Vaughan and many others have testified that they went to the polls to vote only to be told they had voted already. They were given a provisional ballots which would only be counted if the total vote count was within 1% according to poll supervisors.
A total number of 17,086 votes were cast in District 15 for both Republican and Democrat candidates. 9,200 voters on the voter rolls who, by law, should not be on the voter rolls is a huuge discrepancy. Vaughan reported the certified returned mail issue to Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske, who according to Vaughan, sent the issue back to Clark County to investigate itself.

Trump speaks with Taiwan’s president, risking China tensions
It is perhaps unprecedented for a U.S. president or president-elect to speak directly with a leader of Taiwan, a self-governing island the U.S. broke diplomatic ties with in 1979.
In first comments apparently meant to downplay the significance of the call, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Saturday that the contact between Taiwan’s president and Trump was “just a small trick by Taiwan” that he believed would not change U.S. policy toward China, according to Hong Kong’s Phoenix TV.

Trump, Baldwin trade jabs after latest ‘SNL’ skit
“Just tried watching Saturday Night Live – unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse. Sad,” Trump tweeted early Sunday morning.
The tweet elicited a near-immediate response from Baldwin, who tweeted back, “Release your tax returns and I’ll stop.”

Nabisco Now Wants to Talk to Trump
On the campaign trail, Trump slammed Nabisco for moving jobs to Mexico, vowing to never eat another Oreo even though he loves them.

How Trump Could Create Millions Of Energy Jobs
A 2015 study found the coal industry lost 50,000 jobs from 2008 to 2012 during Obama’s first term. During Obama’s second term, the industry employment in coal mining has fallen by another 33,300 jobs, 10,900 of which occurred in the last year alone, according to federal data. As a result, many ex-coal miners are unemployed and Appalachian “coal country” has faced very real economic devastation as a result.

Obama sneaks $4 billion for illegals in lame duck budget
In his boldest challenge yet to incoming President-elect Trump, outgoing President Obama is demanding that Congress more than double its spending on illegal immigrants to nearly $4 billion, a bigger increase than he sought for the care of war veterans, Secrets has learned.

It has been plain enough for everyone but the most committed socialists and political idolators that this Halfrican prick would set about inflicting more and more pain as his reign of terror nears a close. He steadfastly refuses to accept any responsibility for the complete sham that has been his presidency. He has manifested the stratagems of Cloward-Piven, as CtH has so eloquently pointed out. In seven years there isn’t a single thing that comes to mind he’s done for the good of the entire country. Not even close. He will leave behind a million innocents slaughtered because of his reckless cowardly retreat from the Middle East, throwing away all the blood and treasure that went in to bringing some semblance of order to a region hopelessly mired in a 12th century mentality.

It took many years and ultimately the sacrifice of a heroic Pakistani doctor (who Obama, of course, betrayed and left to the Muslims’ tender mercies after promising safe haven in America) to finally dispose of Bin Laden. Even then, it was President Jarrett who gave the SEALs the ‘go’ order since Barry was busy playing cards with his body man, Reggie Love. He naturally stood up and took all the accolades. Worse, I’m 100% convinced that it was his regime that tipped off the Taliban about the helicopter carrying the team that was shot down in Afghanistan. You’ll never convince me otherwise.

France has a fraction of our intelligence capabilities and their police force is meager. They still managed to dispatch the mastermind of the Paris massacre in a matter of days.

Suspected Mastermind of Paris Massacre Killed in Terror Raid
The man suspected of ringleading last Friday’s Paris attacks that killed 129 people, who bragged that he could always stay one step ahead of Western intelligence, was killed in the police raid north of Paris Wednesday. Investigators also confirmed that his cousin was killed, after she apparently blew herself up.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27, also had been linked to a string of thwarted attacks, including the plot to kill passengers on a Paris-bound high-speed train in August, a plot that three young Americans helped foil. He was identified from skin samples after the Saint-Denis raid, the French prosecutor’s office reported Thursday.

Self-righteous prick isn’t listening

The House is currently working on a bill that would require more stringent review of each possible “refugee” from Syria.

“More” stringent review?! What am I saying? Actually, it’s more accurate to say it will require stringent review of each possible “refugee” from Syria since we’ve pretty much learned that there currently isn’t the infrastructure in place to actually do this “robust vetting” that Obama claims will be done.

The House bill would see to it that “refugees” from Syria and Iraq undergo screening that would include FBI background checks before they are permitted to come here in order to weed out the radical Muslim extremist nut cases who want to destroy the country.

If only we had done this for the 2008 Presidential candidates, things would be completely different today.

Clearly the House of Representatives heard your demands that something be done to prevent what happened in Paris from happening here. Sure, it’s possible that many of them are advancing this bill because they’re terrified that if they don’t, you’ll vote their asses out. But, hey. Whatever gets them to do the right thing, right?

But of course the self-righteous prick isn’t listening to you. He isn’t listening to anyone.

And if what Sharyl Attkisson said in this interview on the Steve Malzberg show is true, Obama has a long history of not listening to anybody who disagrees with him

The Bottomless Ignorance of Barack Obama

Liberals have gushed from the beginning on how brilliant Barack Obama is, and point from time to time to the fact that he was a professor of constitutional law (!) at the University of Chicago, one of the nation’s premier law schools. Of course, if you actually check on what he taught there, it was trendy lefty stuff like a course entitled “Race and the Law” (I have a friend who took this course from Obama) which was devoted exclusively to the creative uses of the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment, which to many liberal is the entire constitution. There is no evidence that Obama ever taught, or studied, the structural aspects of the Constitution, as it is obvious that he (following Woodrow Wilson) has no respect for the separation of powers.

Obama Declares Victory On Refugee Fight: ‘We’ll Be Able To Proceed’

After two days of condemning Republicans, President Obama is declaring victory now that it’s clear that Congressional Republicans won’t successfully block thousands of refugees from Syria resettling into the United States.

“My expectation is, after the initial spasm of rhetoric, that people will settle down, take a look at the facts, and we’ll be able to proceed,” Obama said during a press conference with Newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

EPIC FAIL: Barack Obama is a terrible president

2015_11 Obama's feckless foreign policy toon

In the first two videos below, note Obama’s flat, almost bored, affect when he talks about the Paris terror attacks and about his military strategy for ISIS.  Compare this to his heightened, energized affect in the places where he talks about his political opponents at home.  I think it says a lot about his humanity … or lack thereof.

In the third video, the FOX News panel reports on Obama’s lack of passion, clarity and honesty. Jesse Watters says, “I’m actually surprised. Obama usually golfs and flies to fundraisers after terrorist attacks. This time I think he released five guys from Gitmo and then showed up late for a moment of silence for the victims.”

In the fourth video, President Obama addresses the concerns of those who note that terrorists are undeniably infiltrating other nations by posing as refugees. But rather than honestly speak to these concerns, he ridicules them.

He has a bad habit of attacking straw men (e.g., Republicans are afraid of 3-year olds), rather than honestly and respectfully dealing with facts and people he dislikes. It’s offensive.

  • He never uses the “M” word when talking about extremist Muslims, lest some peaceful Muslims be tarred by association.
  • Yet when it comes to Republicans, Pro-Lifers, Tea Partiers, etc., he is blatantly dishonest about what we believe and why we disagree with him.

In the fifth video, Ted Cruz calls him out on it.
