Bits & Bytes

BRIAN STELTER: Project Veritas tried, without success, to get a comment from the CNN anchor [1:26] – My favorite comments …

I didn’t know it was possible to make more of a joke out of Brian Stelter than than he already made of himself. Nice work!”

I love how Stelter, seemingly incapable of handling the situation himself, calls the janitor over to deal with it. As if it’s the janitor’s job. Really goes to the heart of his mentality.

His shirt says ‘Journalism matters. Now more than ever.’ Comedy gold.

CORPORAT-OCRACY: A new NPR / PBS NewsHour / Marist Poll asked: “Do you support or oppose American companies using their public role, position, or events to influence political, cultural, or social change?

Among the 1,266 American adults responding, 57% said NO; 36% said YES.

Meanwhile, Conservatives are talking about mass boycotts of brands that insist on shoving Leftiest politics into the marketplace.

COVID-19: It’s even less deadly than we thought. Previous attempts to study the fatality rate used the discredited PCR test to identify confirmed cases. This study looked for COVID-19 antibodies in the blood, thus including people who had cleared the infection naturally, without having been positively diagnosed at the time.

DIVERSITY TRAINING: Maddy Court tweeted the graphic above with “my brother is doing a diversity training at work and this is one of the slides.” It went viral.

Not the Bee’s Joel Abbott commented, “The woke live in a web of sitcom tropes and stereotypes.”

FACEBOOK: We’ve become used to Fakebook banning politically objectionable links as posts, but we also figured out we could share stuff like that via the “private message” feature.

No more. Recently, users discovered that FB had banned not just posts of a New York Post story about a Black Lives Matter co-founder’s exorbitant spending on personal homes, but also PMs containing the link.

The alleged reason was that the article identified the properties. But Insider columnist Josh Barro noted that “look what this celebrity just bought” stories are a very common form of journalism.

And journalist, Abigail Shrier, tweeted out a number of other New York Post stories which also indicated the location of people’s homes that are not banned by FB.

HUNTER: Despite a massive promotion campaign that included appearances by the author and presidential son on CNN, CBS News and ABC’s late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!“, Hunter’s book sold only 10,638 copies during it’s first week.

The Calcium Connection: The Little-Known Enzyme at the Root of Your Cellular Health by Brunde Broady, sold more copies than that.

HYPOCRISY: Progressives only care about victims who advance their political agenda. For example, 97 police officers have been killed in the line of duty so far this year. Have we heard a word about them?

But a Black kid brandishing a gun gets shot and activists suddenly have to go loot and burn down their own neighborhoods?

The New York Post reports that it is exceedingly rare for a Black man to be killed by a cop. And when it does happen, there is almost always a back story about the victim brandishing a gun, resisting arrest, attempting to grab the officer’s weapon, etc.

IT’S A LIVING: Nancy Cartwright does her 7 Simpsons characters in under 40 seconds [:36].

LOSER: That CNN exec who spilled the beans was targeted by Project Veritas via a dating app called Tinder. His dating profile included his affiliation with CNN. The unidentified Project Veritas employee who filmed the undercover videos did so while going on a total of five dates with the guy.

MASKS: On Day 15 (+368) to slow the spread of a virus that causes a bad cold, Oregon ponders extending masks and social distancing mandates indefinitely.

MEDIA MALPRACTICE: CBS News has been caught deceptively editing body camera footage showing the police chase that led to 13-year-old Adam Toledo’s death in Chicago last month. They dropped out the part that showed the kid had a gun.

Dan Bongino talks about this at the beginning of this episode of his podcast. https://bongino.com/ep-1501-what-theyre-not-telling-you-about-the-recent-police-shootings

MISHEARD LYRICS: This is funny [2:41]. The real lyrics (such as they are) are at the link, along with a description of what’s on the screen when this piece plays.

PROJECT VERITAS: James O’Keefe announced he is suing Twitter for permanently banning him from the platform. He has yet to lose a court case against any of the many people who have defamed them.

SEX TRAFFICKING: PayPal has announced it would no longer allow its services to be used by a group of “adult” websites that play a leading role in sex trafficking.

These sites some intoxicated or unconscious women or girls being raped, illegal video obtained by voyeurs pointing cameras into private places such as locker rooms or restrooms, and most disturbing of all, images and videos of child sexual abuse.

TRANS: Amazon just censored a THIRD book questioning the pro-trans party line. Barnes & Nobles sells all three.

When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment by Ryan T. Anderson

Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters by Abigail Shrier

VAX: [6:52] – On April 15, federal officials announced that about 5,800 fully vaccinated Americans have contracted COVID-19, nearly 400 have required treatment at hospitals, and 74 have died.

Also on April 15, Pfizer’s CEO said, “A likely scenario is that there will be likely a need for a third dose, somewhere between six and 12 months and then from there, there will be an annual revaccination.”
