Bits & Bytes

2020: Don’t get cocky! PLAN TO VOTE! – Rasmussen Reports was the most accurate poll ahead of the 2016 presidential election. On Sept 16, Trump’s total approval hit 52%, two points higher than Obama’s was eight years ago when he was cruising to reelection.

2020: CLICK [13:36] to hear an excellent analysis of Joe Biden’s “townhall” with Anderson Cooper.

2020: CLICK [9:53] to hear Maximo Alvarez call out the radical left. You will remember him as the Cuban immigrant who spoke at the RNC convention.

ANTI-CATHOLIC BIGOTRY: Federal Judge Amy Coney Barrett, a Catholic mother of seven, is on President Donald Trump’s shortlist for a Supreme Court nominee.

Barrett was appointed a judge on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2017. In her confirmation hearing, the judge faced hostile questions about her Catholic faith, like this one from Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).

The clear message here is that Barrett might decide legal cases based on the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, rather than on the law of the land. Hmmm … I seem to remember an Obama appointee saying she’d use her Latina wisdom to decide cases. And she’s on the court now.

Catholic Vote was really on a roll today.

Tweeted: “Can’t wait for ‘devout’ Catholic Joe Biden to attack Amy Coney Barrett for being too devout a Catholic.”

Also tweeted: “If the nominee is Amy Coney Barrett, the inevitable attacks on a person of faith with a big family may end up backfiring given the key vote needed from certain senator from Utah.”

BLACKOUT: “Dear @amazon. About 1,000 people have written to let me know that your employees appear to be stomping on and in this case, smearing Vaseline on my books before mailing them. I know it must have pained you to ship out all 90,000 copies you had in stock— but this is unacceptable.”

CANCELING J.K. ROWLING: CLICK [7:08] to hear Matt Walsh talk about fascists who are fighting fascism by burning Harry Potter books … because J.K. Rowling believes that Trans Activism is damaging natural-born women.

DAN BONGINO: [32:01] – “In this episode, I welcome back President Donald J. Trump to the show. He answers questions about the troubling calls from leftists for a “street fight” after the election, social media censorship of his account, his election chances, and on Biden’s lies about tax hikes and defunding the police.”

EGYPT: Cairo – Archeologists must be giddy over the discover of 27 untouched, wooden sarcophagi that were buried 2,500 years ago in the ancient Saqqara necropolis near Cairo. They also found smaller statues and other artifacts. The find is believed to be the largest of its kind ever.

NO SAFE SPACES: This is well worth watching – Podcast king Adam Carolla and conservative radio show host Dennis Prager crisscrossed the country talking to students, academics, comics, lawyers and more about First Amendment issues.

Adam Carolla, Dennis Prager, Tim Allen, Bryan Callen, Ann Coulter, Alan Dershowitz, Karith Foster, Van Jones, Andrew Schulz, Ben Shapiro, and Cornel West all appear, as do some of the students and professors who have been silenced by the hateful politically-correct crowd.

PATRIOTIC EDUCATION: A majority (57%) of Likely U.S. Voters AGREED with this statement – “The only path to unity is to rebuild shared national identity focused on common American values and virtues of which we have plenty. This includes restoring patriotic education in our nation’s schools, where they are trying to change everything that we have learned.”

Thirty percent (30%) disagreed, while 14% were undecided.

POLITICS and RELIGION: The Trump DOJ continues to defend our right to religious freedom.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is suing retail giant Kroger for firing two employees who refused to wear a pro-homosexual and pro-transgenderism uniform. One of the women offered to wear the apron with the emblem covered and the other offered to wear a different apron without the emblem, but the company made no attempt to accommodate their requests.

The federal agency has also sued snack food producer Frito-Lay for religious discrimination against a Seventh-day Adventist employee. Frito-Lay terminated him after he failed to report to training on two consecutive Saturdays. Employers are obligated to accommodate an employee’s religious beliefs when it would cause no undue hardship.

RIOTS: CLICK [27:04] to hear an excellent report by Tim Pool about how the Right is pushing back against the rioters.

SCOTUS: Vacancy – On Saturday, President Trump he will nominate a female next week to fill late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court.

This is going to put a real crimp in the Left’s usual parade of faux rape victims. (Pass the popcorn.)

SOCIALISM: Hell No! – My immigrant dentist said to me, with tears in her eyes, “My kids are living a life we couldn’t even have dreamed of where we came from.”

WILDFIRES: Sen. Kamala Harris paid a whirlwind visit to the badly burned Fresno area. Harris spoke about how climate, health, the economy and race were all connected. She said it’s not a partisan issue. Except it kinda totally is.

WILDFIRES: The Washington Examiner has a good article called “Don’t fall for simplistic claims about wildfires and global warming.” One salient point was to point out that, if global warming causes wildfires, then there should be an increasing number year after year. But there’s not.

  1. The Veil Removed – I… don’t remember church services being quite that… spectacular.

Got the sniffles there a bit – allergy season.

If you squint at the pix on top of the “WILDFIRES: Sen. Kamala Harris paid a whirlwind visit to the badly burned Fresno area,” you can see links to folks praising Harris’s Timberland footgear as proper and practical. When Melania wore Timberland footgear to visit troops, she was derided. (Picked up from somewhere – if I run across it again, I’ll link.)

Archeologists must be giddy over the discover of 27 untouched, wooden sarcophagi that were buried 2,500 years ago in the ancient Saqqara necropolis near Cairo.

Daughter texted a link to this story to the family today, saying, “27 unopened sarcophagi… this is just what 2020 needs! Please just put them away and do not open them! Lol!”
