BOOTS: [1:07] – In 2018, First Lady Melania Trump wore Timberland boots to visit troops in Iraq. The Fashion Police mocked her “out of touch” footwear.
In 2020, VP wannabe Kamala Harris wore Timberland boots while surveying the devastation left behind by the California wildfires. The Fashion Police praised her for choosing “functional shoes for a busy and important day.”
CANCEL CULTURE: Fail – Last spring, UCLA Professor Gordon Klein was put on mandatory leave for the “tone of an email” he sent to a student, refusing to bend the rules for Black students following the death of George Floyd.
Dean Antonio Bernardo characterized Klein as having “a disregard for our core principles” and called Klein’s email an “abuse of power.” A petition signed by more than 20,000 people demanded he be fired and he had to have a police detail posted outside his home, due to threats.
The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) went to bat for him and won. “We’re happy to confirm that Gordon Klein is teaching once again, and hope that in the future UCLA will consider its constitutional obligations before throwing educators out of the classroom.” – Katlyn Patton for FIRE
The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to defending and sustaining the individual rights of students and faculty members at America’s colleges and universities. These rights include freedom of speech, freedom of association, due process, legal equality, religious liberty, and sanctity of conscience — the essential qualities of liberty.
CROW TRIBE: “The Crow Tribe has gone and endorsed Donald Trump for president, a slap in the face to full-blooded Native American Elizabeth Warren, who is a staunch Biden supporter and was certainly hoping her native brothers and sisters would join her and support him as well. You hate to see it. How could they do her like that? Their own flesh and blood?” – Doc Holliday at Not The Bee
FREE SPEECH: College students are learning they can bad mouth President Trump all they want, but BLM is off limits.
FIRE has seen a four-fold increase in requests for help from students who are being being disciplined for exercising free speech on college campuses.
The Young America’s Foundation’s (YAF) Campus Bias Tip Line has received double the number of complaints compared to previous summers.
And university staffers are not immune. A member of the Residential Life team at Berry College in George has been put on administrative leave for posting on his social media that he doesn’t think racism is systemic in the United States.
GINSBURG: RIP – Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (87), the second-ever woman appointed to the high court, died Friday night at her home in Washington, D.C., due to complications of metastatic pancreas cancer.
May God have mercy on her soul and bless President Trump and the Senate with the wisdom to replace her with His choice.
HISTORY: American – President Trump said he will sign an executive order to establish a 1776 Commission to renew pro-American public education. His move is in response to the 1619 Project pushed by the New York Times which “aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of [the United States’] national narrative.”
“Critical race theory, the 1619 Project, and the crusade against American history is toxic propaganda — an ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civic bonds that tie us together,” Trump said. “The only path to national unity is through our shared identity as Americans. That is why it is so urgent that we finally restore patriotic education to our schools.”
HISTORY: Holocaust [1:22] – According to a new poll, 60% of millennials and Gen Z in New York do not know that 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust and nearly 20% believe Jews caused the Holocaust.
The results come amid a rise in anti-Semitic incidents around the U.S. in recent years. The Anti-Defamation League said in May that it had recorded an all-time high of anti-Semitic incidents in 2019 since it tracking of such events began in 1979.
PENNSYLVANIA: Lancaster – Rioters used yet another justified police shooting as an excuse to assault police officers with glass bottles, rocks, bricks, gallon jugs filled with liquid and plastic road barricades.
A dozen of them were arrested; several had their bail set at $1 million each.
PENNSYLVANIA: Pittsburgh – Three of the Pittsburgh Black Lives Matter protesters who harassed diners at an outdoor restaurant are facing charges of disorderly conduct, conspiracy, criminal mischief, theft, and simple trespass.
Cops identified them in viral videos. One of those arrested is the “non-binary” individual who stole a patron’s beer and smugly drank it down.
MARYLAND: Baltimore – Two of the suspects in a gang slaying of a 16-year-old girl have been released, because Democrats decided that pandering to their party’s pro-illegal immigration policy was more important than upholding federal immigration laws or pursuing justice for the victim.
WALK AWAY: This technically isn’t a #WalkAway story, but it’s close enough to count for today’s excerpt – “In 2016, I never considered voting for Donald Trump. The Johnny-come-lately Republican and his nasty schoolyard jibes seemed to me the worst degradation of American politics. But in 2020, I may be forced to vote for the man. …
“I fear that former vice president Joe Biden would be a figurehead president, incapable of focus or leadership, who would run a teleprompter presidency with the words drafted by his party’s hard-left ideologues. I fear that a Congress with Democrats controlling both houses — almost certainly ensured by a Biden victory in November — would begin an assault on the institutions of government that preserve the nation’s small ‘d’ democracy.
“That could include the abolition of the filibuster, creating an executive-legislative monolith of unlimited political power; an increase in the number of Supreme Court seats to ensure a liberal supermajority; passage of devastating economic measures such as the Green New Deal; nationalized health care; the dismantling of U.S. borders and the introduction of socialist-inspired measures that will wreck an economy still recovering from the pandemic shutdown.” – Danielle Pletka
From “Not the Bee” – “Perhaps the best visual between these two campaigns is the following video, in which a Biden supporter showed up to a Trump boat parade with an itty bitty boat. Even better, however, is that his little boat is starting to sink as the Trump flotilla passes him. The Biden supporter frantically bails out his tiny vessel before waving a white flag to signal his need for help. Even if this whole thing was staged, it’s still the perfect visual for the enthusiasm between these two campaigns.”
CLICK [1:22] … this is really funny. I have no idea if it was staged or not.
