THEOLOGY OF HOME: Home isn’t something you buy. It’s something you build, slowly, over time, not simply by sheltering in place, but by living deeply in place, one dinner at a time, one baby at a time, one kiss at a time, one prayer at a time.” – Emily Stimpson Chapman

TIME TO REOPEN: [18:39] – Prager U’s William Witt interviews a psychiatrist about the mental health crisis that the lockdown has caused. Substance abuse, overdoses, domestic violence, and child abuse are all on the rise. The Department of Health & Human Services estimates “deaths of despair” could reach as high as 150,000.

In some places, the number of deaths by suicide have exceeded the number of deaths from the coronavirus. Dr. Michael deBoisblanc of John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California, told ABC 7 news that he has seen a “year’s worth of suicides” in the last four weeks alone.

FLYNN: [5:40] – Top administration officials have presented contrasting accounts of what transpired during a key Jan 5th 2017, meeting in the Oval Office.

Also, on Friday, FBI Director Christopher Wray ordered the Bureau’s Inspection Division to conduct an after-action review of the Michael Flynn investigation.

The purpose of the probe is to see if any FBI employees acted improperly, whether any current employees need disciplining, and also to determine whether the bureau’s policies need to be amended and updated.

MASKS: Some people find that wearing a mask makes their headaches worse. They also cause a diminution in oxygen intake, so may be a bad ideal for the the frail elderly, those with lung diseases, such as COPD, emphysema or pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer patients, and people who have had part or all of a lung removed.

That being said, employees at my local hospital who cannot tolerate the annual flu shot must wear a mask while at work. Every day. The one I talked to said she loved her mask. “It’s so comfortable, I forget all about it. And I NEVER get sick any more.”

And my physician told me he’d read a study that followed up on people who had been caregivers to SARS patients. None of the ones who wore masks caught the virus.

I’ve been forced to wear a mask since the mid-1980s to filter out chemicals. I use the 3M dust/mist mask which is an N95 style with a carbon layer added. It’s gray. It’s very uncomfortable, so wear it as little as possible. When I leave my air filtered oasis, I keep it around my neck where I can quickly push it up when I smell anything that’s bad for me.

LIBERAL ANGST: [Satire by Genesius Times] – America’s progressives were horrified by the fact that states that have lifted COVID-19 lockdown restrictions haven’t seen more deaths from the disease.

I am literally sick to death that more people aren’t dying in those states that have reopened,” Francis Delido of Los Angeles said. “They told us that there was going to be a second spike of cases and deaths when they lifted the restrictions—that this pandemic wasn’t over. I just can’t believe it wasn’t true.

2020_05 24 GENDER

GENDER: This week, lawmakers in Hungary approved a legislative package including a provision that forbids changing someone’s birth sex on official government documents. “Sex or gender” will be replaced by “birth sex,” and will be determined based on a person’s chromosomes and biological sexual characteristics.

Given that the complete change of the biological sex is not possible, it is necessary to state in law that there is no possibility to change it in the registry of births, marriages and deaths, either,” reads an explanation accompanying the provision.

The move has sparked outrage from left-wing pressure groups who are so “pro-science” that they reject the idea that gender is a biological imperative and that there are only two of them.
