FLOODING: Michiganians need our prayers [2:40].
HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE: Dr. Drew says, “I’ve prescribed it hundreds of times. I’ve never seen one adverse side effect.” [3:18] – The Left predictably went berserk about Trump announcing he is taking HCQ prophylactically. Just listen to the way this reporter treated Dr. Drew. He really, REALLY didn’t like what the good doctor was saying!
When Anderson Cooper piously asked Nancy Pelosi, who is not a physician, how she felt about the news, she said, “I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group, morbidly obese, they say. So, I think it’s not a good idea.”
Never mind the endless bitching by Democrats that Trump had no right to talk about the drug AT ALL, because, you know, he is not a physician.
Or the fact that Trump’s doctor, who is a physician and who presumably knows all about his risk factors, had prescribed it to him.
Plus, he’s “obese”, not “morbidly obese.” Those terms actually means something to, you know, physicians.
When Trump was asked if he had any response to Pelosi’s attempt to fat shame him, the president said, “I don’t respond to her. I think she’s waste of time.”
I was interested to hear Dr. Drew say that, while he had never seen adverse effects from hydroxychloroquine, he had seen adverse side effects from Tylenol and aspirin.
I nearly died from a single aspirin when I was 25. The doctor who diagnosed me said, “Aspirin is the most common cause of drug-related hospitalizations. If it wasn’t already available over the counter, the FDA would never approve it.”
Rep. Mike Kelly took hydroxychloroquine [2:36] – His physician prescribed it when he contracted COVID-19. He’s 72 years old and has Type 2 diabetes.
But the ever ignorant Joy Behar of The View, who is not a physician, was appalled that any intelligent person would do such a thing.
WHO: President Trump warned the WHO he would cut off U.S. funds if they didn’t clean up their act with respect to China. The WHO’s blatant pro-China pronouncements about the virus hampered the world’s response and cost lives.
Trump sent them a letter saying if the WHO “does not commit to major substantive improvements within the next 30 days, I will make my temporary freeze of United States funding to the World Health Organization permanent and reconsider our membership in the organization.”
COVID-19: A blue-ribbon panel of Catholic doctors from some of the nation’s top research hospitals and universities says churches should be able to reopen safely.
The central California city of Atwater has declared itself a sanctuary city for businesses and churches that want to operate outside the restrictions dictated by Gov. Newsom’s recent order. Also, the DOJ has informed Newsom that he’d better stop excluding churches from his regs about secular businesses, because “there is no pandemic exception to the U.S. Constitution and its Bill of Rights.”
A federal judge has blocked North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper’s order limiting most church services to 10 people or fewer, because the order had not applied the same limit to businesses.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has been a busy little Nazi. His administration shut down a Brooklyn Yeshiva for violating social distancing rules. He also announced that all city beaches will remain closed. “For folks in local communities who walk on the beach, walk on the boardwalk, they can still do that. But no swimming, no lifeguards, no congregating. Anyone tries to get in the water, they’ll be taken right out of the water.”
FLYNN: On January 20, 2017, three months prior to her public statement above, Susan Rice wrote herself an email that has recently been declassified and released. It was her last day as out-going National Security Adviser.
In the email, she documented a Jan. 5, 2017, Oval Office meeting with President Obama that she attended with Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, FBI Director James Comey, and Vice President Joe Biden. During the meeting, Obama and Comey discussed the known contents of telephone conversations between Trump’s incoming National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and Russian Ambassador Kislyak.
In other words, Susan Rice lied about not knowing that Trump’s people were being surveilled. What a shock [not]. Rice was the Obama shill who went on five separate Sunday morning news talk shows to lie about Benghazi. Her lies were so blatant that even the Obama-friendly Washington Post gave her four out of four Pinocchios.
The Red State link below has a transcript of the relevant part of the April 2017 PBS interview cited in the graphic.
BIDEN: I mentioned to Dearest that I had listened to Biden’s 2016 phone calls with the Ukrainian president and was struck by how coherent he sounded.
On Tuesday evening, during an interview with Yahoo News, he said,
“Thousands of meat pack workers got sick, got co uh uh, got the virus and some died.”
“I had the job of getting out 84 billion dollars in 18 months in The Recovery Act.” (It was $800 billion.)
“The idea that you go through the 20th Century without— with just 12 years of education, er, the 21st Century…”
The interviewer claimed there are growing reports that hydroxychloroquine is dangerous.
(Yeah, ummm … it was patented in 1950 and has been in continuous use, worldwide, for malaria and about half a dozen other diseases and disorders. Sheesh.)
Then, she asked Biden (who is not a physician) how he feels about President Trump taking the drug prophylactically, he snorted disgustedly and said, “It’s like saying maybe if you inject the Clorox into your blood, you know, it may cure you. What is he doing?! What is God’s name is he doing?! … This is absolutely irresponsible!”
(Again, yeah, ummm … President Trump’s physician prescribed it to him. And while I am not a physician, I’m pretty sure they don’t prescribe Clorox injections. Double sheesh.)
Dearest thinks the Democrat PTBs will let Biden continue to make a fool of himself until it’s “too late” and they “have” to nominate their pick at the convention.
He speculated it would be someone like Obama, which got me thinking about the WaPo mag’s absurd bio of Stacey Abrams that I highlighted in yesterday’s Bits & Bytes.
PLANNED PARENTHOOD: Affiliates of the abortion giant improperly applied for and received $80 million in coronavirus stimulus funds intended only for small business.
The Small Business Administration is apparently contacting and warning Planned Parenthood to explain that their affiliates have to give the money back or else.
ABORTION: Multiple reports surfaced today that the new documentary, AKA Jane Roe, claims Norma “Jane Roe” McCorvey (of Roe vs. Wade) has been pretending to be pro-life for money.
McCorvey reportedly changed her position on abortion after befriending Operation Rescue pro-life activist Flip Benham. She met him while working at an abortion clinic next-door to the Operation Rescue’s headquarters.
Benham invited her inside, and McCorvey said she changed her mind after seeing the fetal development of a baby.
“All those years I was wrong,” she said. “Signing that affidavit, I was wrong. Working in an abortion clinic, I was wrong. No more of this first trimester, second trimester, third trimester stuff. Abortion — at any point — was wrong. It was so clear. Painfully clear.”
She then converted to Christianity in 1995. Then, through her work in the pro-life movement, McCorvey met Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life. He became her spiritual director and aided in her 1998 conversion to Catholicism.
I suppose we can’t expect anything better of people who kill babies than that they would trash her life’s work, now that she’s not here to speak for herself.
God knows the truth, and the truth will prevail.
GRAMMY NOTES: From Mama Buzz – Bunny’s “art assignment this week was to draw a square, triangle, and circle. Pick any animal then turn those shapes into that animal. She chose hedgehog. We looked up images to help with inspiration.”
