TRUMP APPROVAL RATING: Given the dominance of the coronavirus situation in Americans’ minds, it is not surprising that the president’s overall job approval rating nearly matches his approval rating on COVID-19.
The latest poll showed a big jump among Independents, from 39% in April to 47% now. Forty-seven percent is the highest mark Trump has received from Independents during his presidency.
MEDIA MALPRACTICE: [11:24] – Click to see “President Trump vs. The Media montage, coronavirus edition.”
I often wonder what Trump’s approval polls would look like if the Slime Stream Media actually did its job, instead of pimping for the Democratic Party.
BIDEN: Gropey Joe’s Senate papers are stored at the University of Delaware. On Friday, he said he would not release them, because he is concerned that it would damage his presidential campaign.
The university declined to share the terms under which the papers were donated, but the University of Delaware’s charter says the board of trustees supposedly has “entire control and management of the affairs of the university.”
So it’s not clear if keeping the documents a secret until after Biden left public life was part of the donation arrangement. It’s possible that it wasn’t.
Maybe they just don’t want to talk to reporters because a bunch of the board members have close financial and/or personal ties to Joe Biden.
SENATE: Democrats and their lapdogs in the media don’t want the Senate to reconvene, because THE VIRUS (actually, because McConnell is determined to get all the empty judicial seats filled with conservatives).
CALIFORNIA: The rural county of Modoc (pop: 9,000) is defying Gov. Newsom’s mandate to keep the entire state closed down, regardless of local conditions.
“Our residents were moving forward with or without us. We really needed to create guidelines for them so that they could do this in the safest way possible.” – Madoc County Deputy Director of Emergency Services Heather Hadwick
ZING: Juanita Broaddrick tweeted back, “Here’s a tissue, Mika.”
Broaddrick has alleged for many years that Bill Clinton raped her back in the late ‘70s when Clinton was then the attorney general of Arkansas.
Broadrrick is just one of many women the Left has ignored and Hillary Clinton has slandered for outing the fact that Bill Clinton is a serial philanderer and rapist.
In 1975, Hillary Clinton blamed a 12-year-old virgin for the vicious rape that left her in a coma. Hillary said she had a “tendency to seek out older men.”
In 1991, when a number of women came forward to accuse Bill Clinton of either consensual infidelity or sexual misconduct, Hillary Clinton dismissed the entire affair as a “bimbo eruption.”
She called Bill’s long-time mistress, Gennifer Flowers, “trailer trash” and “some failed cabaret singer who doesn’t even have much of a résumé to fall back on.” (After initially denying he’d had sex with Flowers, Clinton later admitted to it under oath.)
And she called the starry-eyed White House intern who fell in love with her boss a “narcissistic loony toon” who had had consensual sex with POTUS.
Never mind that the vast power differential between the President of the United States and an unpaid intern young enough to be his daughter puts the responsibility for keeping his hands off squarely in Bill’s court.
TDS: I’m sorry for her loss, but good grief … “He believed you when you said it was no worse than the flu”?
Hmm … lemme think, would that have been back in January when the WHO and CDC were saying the same things?
Would that have been back in February when Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and the mayors of NYC and NOLA were encouraging people to flock to crowded gatherings, because it was totally safe?
Nothing says, “Love Trumps Hate” like “You murdered my grandpa!”
FEDERAL COURT: The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday that the Trump administration cannot legally withhold federal grant funds from sanctuary cities.
The lawsuit was filed by Chicago in 2017 when the Trump administration first tried to make the funds contingent on adhering to immigration policy.
GOP AD: [1:43] – “Whether Biden did what he’s been accused of is unclear. Whether Democratic politicians are gross hypocrites about allegations of sexual assault is not.” – Allahpundit
PLANNED PARENTHOOD: The Trump administration has acted to ensure that no funds from the new Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), set up to assist small businesses battered by COVID-19, will go to Planned Parenthood.
The PPP is only for small businesses. The Small Business Administration has regulations called ‘affiliation rules’ to define when small employers might be so closely affiliated with a parent organization that they should be considered one large employer.
While each Planned Parenthood affiliate has fewer than 500 employees, nationwide it has over 16,000 employees. So when applying PPP’s affiliation rules neutrally, it’s clear that Planned Parenthood is one large employer and not eligible for PPP money.
ABORTION: The ACLJ has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the state of Illinois, seeking the name of the person who decided abortion was a necessary medical procedure.
GENDER: The U.S. Soccer Federation was sued last year by the United States women’s soccer team over demands that they be paid the same as the men’s team.
On Friday, a federal judge in Los Angeles dismissed the case, noting that the women’s team had gone through extensive negotiations when setting up their contracts and that they are being paid precisely what they negotiated for.
The men’s team made a deal whereby they received less guaranteed pay in exchange for larger bonuses based on performance.
The women’s team was offered this deal, but chose instead to have more guaranteed pay upfront with less bonus money on the back end.
Had they negotiated for the same deal the men arranged, they would have made considerably more money after winning the championship.
My grammy would’ve said, “That’s the way the cookie crumbles.”
