PRAISE HIM: I saw this on Facebook “After the President’s news conference was over, one of the reporters made the observation that for the first time in our nation’s history we won’t be celebrating Easter. Well let me tell you one thing, he’s dead wrong. We might not celebrate what Easter has become in that there may be no new clothes bought for that Sunday. We might not hide and hunt eggs in mass quantities. We may not travel home to attend church with our family. But we’re going to celebrate Easter. As a matter of fact, every Sunday is Easter Sunday. Every day we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pilate couldn’t kill Him and the grave couldn’t hold Him. You think the Coronavirus isn’t going to stop Easter. More people this year will hear the gospel than any other Easter before.

“Easter is not just about special programs, although we will still have them at our church. It’s not about the trumpet call or the mass crowds. It’s the fact that we serve a living Savior who is still transforming lives today. Easter is not only about His resurrection, but our ability to rise with Him. Easter is about the hope of tomorrow and the gift of everlasting life. Yes indeed, we will celebrate. We’ll celebrate what God did for all of us at Calvary. How? By remembering Him. By loving Him. By worshipping Him. By praising Him. Easter for us is everyday. Let the celebration begin.

“Let us rejoice for our Savior is alive! He has risen! Happy Easter my friends!”

2020_04 05 Roosevelt the man in the arena

THE MAN IN THE ARENA: This week, Democrats and their media lapdogs have been snarking at The Donald for supposedly not having done enough back in January, when they were busy impeaching him, and again in February when they were busy encouraging Americans that it was perfectly safe to go to movies and block parties, etc.

TASK FORCE BRIEFING: April 4 – This is one of the very few times I’ve ever seen President Trump looking and sounding really tired. He mentioned that Vice President Pence has been working round the clock and needs more sleep. I’m thinking POTUS needs more sleep too.

The three biggest messages I got out of this briefing are:

    1. Mitigation works!
    2. The next two weeks are going to be the most important time of all to stay home.
    3. We have to beat this, so we can get our lives back.

NYC and all the bedroom communities are the worst. Detroit is hot right now. And Louisiana cases shot way up … hmm, maybe because the mayor didn’t cancel Mardi Gras (Feb 25).

CNN again tries to get a gotcha sound bite. I’m so sick of it. So is Trump. “A nasty question from CNN.” [mumble mumble from reporter] “No, yeah it is. You’ve asked that same question about ten times.”

2020_04 05 Obama fact check

VOTE REPUBLICAN: From Clarice’s Pieces at American Thinker Mayor de Blasio’s City Health Commissioner, Oxiris Barbot, is a radical who previously served as Health Commissioner of Baltimore where she “had given the city’s race rioters ‘space to destroy.’” Space which continues after her move to New York  to result in a soaring murder rate.

She boasted of seeing health policy through a “racial equity lens,” a lens so fogged that she concentrated on discouraging those arriving from Wuhan from going into self-quarantine and encouraging New Yorkers to attend the Lunar New Year celebrations in the city.

Democratic officials doubtless contributed greatly to the spread of the disease, and as we show, seem to have had a disproportionate effect on the poor — especially African Americans in these states and cities, the very blocs of voters who voted them into office.

CtH – If it weren’t so tragic, that last part would be funny. But it is, so it’s not … like far too much of what Democrats and their policies do to the American people.

2020_04 04 cuomo

CUOMO: Rep. Tom Reed (my district) issued this statement yesterday in regards to Governor Cuomo’s reckless Executive Order: Cases and deaths are increasing today in Western New York. Multiple intubations are occurring regularly. We have to protect all New Yorkers, including Upstate. The Governor said he was sending the National Guard to take our ventilators and PPE by force. That doesn’t sound like a request or working together. That sounds like force. Once we lose these ventilators they are never coming back.”

Politico reports that Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he plans to sign an executive order to give the state the power to take equipment from private hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities. He also said he would use the National Guard to collect the stuff.

Cuomo objected to a reporter’s question saying the state would “seize” ventilators, instead describing it as “sharing” of resources.

Tom Reed is right. An executive order to take stuff, especially using National Guardsmen, absolutely should be characterized by the word “seize.”

I apologize for the hardship to those institutions — ultimately there is no hardship, if you don’t get the ventilator back, I give you my personal word I will pay you for the ventilator — but I’m not going to let people die because we didn’t redeploy these ventilators.”

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Just like you promised we’d get back all the money you threw away on stupid solar projects that went bankrupt while NOT getting ventilators your own health advisors told you were needed.

It’s hard not to hate Gov. Nipple Rings. But then, I’ve loathed and despised him since January 2014 when he told me, a third generation New Yorker, that there was “no place in New York” for me and Dearest, because we are pro-second amendment and anti-abortion.

2020_04 05 fired

FIRING ATKINSON: Right firing, right reason” by Monica Showalter at American Thinker – “Doing the Friday-night news dump thang, while attention is in any case focused on the coronavirus, President Trump moved to get rid of the Intelligence Community’s inspector general, Michael Atkinson.

That’s the guy who changed the rules to accommodate the so-called whistleblower, with zero firsthand knowledge, to file his … charges with nothing more than disliking Trump as his motive. … He also stonewalled Congress when asked about his convenient little rules change.  Seems he wanted to hide something. … Trump was absolutely right to fire Atkinson.

CRENSHAW: The Left believes God and government are the same [1:25] – “It’s immoral.

2020_04 05 unimpressed

UNIMPRESSED: Satire – A poll conducted by the Pew Pew Institute shows that a majority of Americans are unimpressed with their 30-day free trial of Communism.

It kinda sucks,” 19-year-old San Diegan Britta Fowler said of the trial. “I was expecting all this free stuff, which I guess we’re getting, but I also didn’t expect empty store shelves and house arrest for everyone. It’s really lame!”

The trial was imposed involuntarily by governments across the country in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yeah, they’re giving us money but what good is that if you can’t spend it on anything you want?” Fowler asked.

We thought we’d entice the people everywhere into Communist utopia with a trial run,” USBS Secretary John Lennon said. “We thought, hey, it works with Netflix, so it should work with Communism!”
