2020_02 15 gratitude

GRATITUDE: Gratitude isn’t a feeling; it’s a choice. – Neuroscientists have proven that gratitude makes you happier and healthier. The study divided participants into three groups who were all asked to keep a journal:

  • One wrote down what happened during the week for which they were grateful.
  • Another wrote down what happened that irritated or annoyed them.
  • The third wrote down stuff that happened without any emphasis on positive or negative emotions.

At the end of ten weeks, the gratitude group reported feeling more optimistic and positive about their lives than the other two groups. In addition, they were more physically active and reported fewer visits to a doctor than those who wrote only about their negative experiences.

RANK HYPOCRISY: In DC, justice is definitely NOT blind [3:03] “It was expected that Democrats would be up in arms over the news that the Justice Department retracted and rewrote Roger Stone’s sentencing recommendation memo, but once again I find myself astonished by the rank hypocrisy of Democrats. …

Under Obama and his radical attorneys general, Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, the Justice Department became a hotbed of political favoritism, pretty much from day one.

I have picked five examples of Obama’s allies being protected from justice in various ways by his administration that Democrats didn’t give a hoot about… and when you read them, you’ll understand why.” – Matt Margolis at PJ Media

I am grateful that God’s justice will prevail.

BORDER: An illegal alien who was not deported has now been accused of smothering to death at least 22 women in their 80s and 90s in the Dallas metro area.

I am grateful that those women are now happy and at peace in the arms of our loving Lord.

IVY LEAGUE: The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) has launched an investigation into Harvard and Yale. Both universities have been accused of failing to report foreign gifts and contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Section 117 of the Higher Education Act requires American Title IV-eligible colleges and universities to report any foreign gifts or contracts that exceed $250,000 in value.

I am grateful that the Trump administration is no longer turning a blind eye.

2020_02 14 bike rack

GOVERNMENT WASTE: The Falls Church, Virginia, metro has spent $3.8 million and taken five years to build two bike racks. The as-yet-unfinished, covered bike shelters will house 92 bikes, putting the price tag at more than $20,000 per bike. Methinks it would’ve been cheaper to just buy new bikes for anyone who has one stolen or vandalized.

I am grateful that God knows who is responsible and will hold him/her to account.

AVENATTI: Chad Prather’s schadenfreude spiel is a tad raunchy [3:10]Disgraced attorney and former anti-Trump media darling, Michael Avenatti, has been found guilty on all three charges in connection to accusations he attempted to extort up to $25 million from athleticwear giant Nike.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 17; he faces up to 42 years. His attorneys said they plan to appeal. He also faces trial in May in Los Angeles on charges that he defrauded clients of millions of dollars.

I am grateful this sinful man is finally paying for at least some of his crimes. May the Lord bless him with all the graces he needs to repent and be saved before it’s too late.

HATING ON CHRISTIANS: “Brave” HBO predictably mocks the two branches of Christianity (Catholic and Evangelical) that put up the most roadblocks to the Progressive’s godless agendas.

Of course, Muslims are also opposed to abortion and same sex marriage, but are never touched. It’s easy to pass this off as cowardice, since Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek, while Mohammed taught them to murder the infidels who insult him.

But I tend to think there’s something deeper, along the lines of Progressives and Muslims are both serving the same lord.

I am grateful that Jesus taught us, “They hated me before they hated you” and that the Father is always able to use these things to advance His Kingdom. May He bless those who watch this trash with the graces they need to see the workings of true evil in our sinful world and seek Him with pure hearts.

PURGATORY: [7:09]Father Mike explains what the Catholic Church teaches about Purgatory. I encourage you to watch.

I am grateful to have been taught that sinners who do not utterly reject God get a second chance even after death.

MASCOTS: I got this from Mama BuzzYesterday, I was watching some videos about Mary and thinking I would like another image of her in my house. I didn’t even speak this out loud … then, my husband came home and told me there’s a guy selling Holy images carved from olive wood from the Holy Land at the PX. So many wonderful images to choose from, he couldn’t make up his mind which I would like best. So for Valentines Day, he told me to go pick whatever I wanted! I ended up choosing this beautiful piece of the Holy Family!

GRAMMY NOTES: [2:42]For my valentine, Dearest went to Wegmans for a date night carry out … salmon, roasted veg, and fruit tort yum! Then, when he got home, he did all of my backed up dishes and even put them away!! I am so blessed. 🙂
