GRATITUDE: Gratitude isn’t a feeling; it’s a choice. – Neuroscientists have proven that gratitude makes you happier and healthier. The study divided participants into three groups who were all asked to keep a journal:
- One wrote down what happened during the week for which they were grateful.
- Another wrote down what happened that irritated or annoyed them.
- The third wrote down stuff that happened without any emphasis on positive or negative emotions.
At the end of ten weeks, the gratitude group reported feeling more optimistic and positive about their lives than the other two groups. In addition, they were more physically active and reported fewer visits to a doctor than those who wrote only about their negative experiences.
