My latest update from the campaign trail.
TRUMP: Minnesota Democrat stronghold shifting to Trump [3:05] – “The Democratic Party left us.”
DIAMOND and SILK: [4:42] – The Democrats are going to lose because of Democrats.
FAUXCAHONTAS: As part of her “Medicare for All” platform, Elizabeth Warren is using a very flawed study she sponsored to claim that more than half of all bankruptcies in the U.S. are the result of medical debt.
The Forbes article linked here explains what is wrong with that politically-motivated study and presents better data from an academic study published in the New England Journal of Medicine that showed less than 4% of hospitalizations resulted in bankruptcy.
The conclusions of the two studies are not directly comparable, since Warren’s gives a percentage of all bankruptcies, while the NEJM study gives a percentage of hospitalizations that resulted in bankruptcy.
But the huge disparity in the numbers, combined with the shortcomings in Warren’s study bias should give us all a great big pause concerning her rationale for destroying our health care system.
AOC: Does she seriously NOT know how to search the internet? – Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Thursday, “DC was the 1st territory in the United States to free the enslaved. It’s where Black Americans fled the tyranny of slavery & towards greater freedom, to DC. Yet today it’s where 2nd class citizenship reigns, and the right to vote is denied.”
- Vermont was the first U.S. territory to abolish slavery in 1777.
- Pennsylvania was the first state to abolish slavery in 1780.
In the District of Columbia, it did not become illegal to own slaves until 1862 with the passage of the D.C. Emancipation Act.
BETO: The Democrat lies just go on and on [11:37] – Bongino explains Beto’s gun confiscation plan and his claim that it has worked in Australia.
TULSI GABBARD: Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) launched a profane attack on President Donald Trump’s foreign policy on Monday evening. About his plan to send our troops to help defend Saudi Arabia, she said, “We are not your prostitutes. You are not our pimp.”
On other occasions, she has sneered that Trump is “Saudi Arabia’s bitch” and “al-Qaeda’s big brother and protector in Syria.”
Joel Pollak points out, “Gabbard enjoys pointing out, she is an officer in the U.S. Army National Guard. Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) prohibits commissioned officers from using “contemptuous words” about the president — whether in uniform or out of uniform. Gabbard might enjoy some leeway from a military court due to the political nature of her job, but to say Trump has betrayed the military, and to call him a “pimp” and a “bitch,” is likely a violation of the UCMJ.”
