GRAB A TISSUE: This story went viral after a Florida fourth-grader’s teacher posted it, then some amazing things happened.
“When I told my students about this day a week before, this particular child came to me and told me that he wanted to wear a University of Tennessee shirt, but he didn’t have one. We discussed that he could wear an orange shirt to show his spirit. He told me every day leading up to it that he had an orange shirt that he was going to wear.
“So when the day finally arrived, he was SO EXCITED to show me his shirt. I was impressed that he took it one step further to make his own label.
“After lunch, he came back to my room, put his head [on] his desk and was crying. Some girls at the lunch table next to his [who didn’t even participate in college colors day] had made fun of his sign that he had attached to his shirt. He was DEVASTATED.”
“Volunteers” (UT’s nickname) noticed. The college store was swamped with orders to send the boy UT stuff, which he loved.
Even better, the boy’s design has been made into an official UT store item, all proceeds going to Stomp Out Bullying!
Even MORE amazing, the University of Tennessee has awarded the boy a four-year scholarship covering his tuition and fees should he decide to attend UT and meet admission requirements.
SOME PEOPLE DID SOMETHING: [3:56] – Just for the record, CAIR was founded in June of 1994.
Ilhan Omar was either making an ignorant mistake or just bare-faced lying when she said it was founded in response to anti-Muslim sentiment following 9/11.
BORDER: President Trump’s administration won a significant victory at the Supreme Court on Wednesday afternoon when the justices voted 7-2 to allow the Trump administration to fully implement its asylum reform while a lawsuit over its constitutionality continues its way through federal court.
Under the rule, immigrants must first seek asylum in countries they are traveling through before applying for asylum in the United States.
JUSTICE: The Republican-led Senate confirmed President Trump’s 150th judicial nominee.
“These conservative judicial appointments will impact our nation for years to come,” said Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham.
SPYGATE: Prosecutors are recommending that former FBI Deputy Director and current CNN contributor Andrew McCabe face criminal charges over lying to federal agents and leaking information to the media.
GUNS: Democrats want to ban a whole lot of guns – Not the guns that protect THEM, of course, just the ones owned by millions of law-abiding Americans.
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: A new law in the Australian state of Victoria requires priests to violate the seal of confession if anything in the confession gave them reason to suspect occurrences of child abuse. For a priest to violate the Seal of the Confessional is a mortal sin, so this new law is unconstitutional. And the Catholic leadership in Victoria has already said they will not comply. The archbishop also noted that such confessions are exceedingly rare.
