2019_09 10 usa proud

USA PROUD: The following has been translated from an editorial in a French newspaper that was written by a French soldier serving with a prestigious U.S. infantry battalion.

Heavily built, fed at the earliest age with Gatorade, proteins, and creatine — they are all heads and shoulders taller than us and their muscles remind us of Rambo.  Our frames are amusingly skinny to them — we are wimps, even the strongest of us — and because of that they often mistake us [the French] for Afghans. …

Even if some of them are a bit on the heavy side, all of them provide us everyday with lessons in infantry know-how.  Beyond the wearing of a combat kit that never seems to discomfort them (helmet strap, helmet, combat goggles, rifles etc.) the long hours of watch at the outpost never seem to annoy them in the slightest.

And combat? If you have seen Rambo you have seen it all — always coming to the rescue when one of our teams gets in trouble, and always in the shortest delay. That is one of their tricks: they switch from T-shirt and sandals to combat ready in three minutes. Arriving in contact with the enemy, the way they fight is simple and disconcerting: they just charge! They disembark and assault in stride, they bomb first and ask questions later — which cuts any pussyfooting short.

To those who bestow us with the honor of sharing their combat outposts and who everyday give proof of their military excellence, to those who pay the daily tribute of America’s army’s deployment on Afghan soil, to those we owned this article, ourselves hoping that we will always remain worthy of them and to always continue hearing them say that we are all the same band of brothers.”

TRUMP’S BIG BEAUTIFUL WALL: [6:49] – Fifteen miles of new fence are going up just east of Signal Mountain to the Jacumba Wilderness in Imperial County, California, just east of San Diego. As you can see in the video, it will replace the nearly useless “Normandy” style fencing.

Apparently, when the Fake and Disgusting News reports on how much of Trump’s wall has been constructed, they don’t count this, because it’s not “new”, just a “refurbishment.” Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

2019_09 10 kavanaugh

KAVANAUGH: A video has come out of Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyer saying Ford’s allegations were about abortion. Ford testified under oath that her testimony was accurate and truthful.

Yeah, right.

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-SC) says an investigation may be in order, since this revelation seems “to undermine what we all believed was a legitimate traumatic experience in her life.”

What we all believed”? Speak for yourself, sir. I NEVER believed her.

2019_09 10 justice

JUSTICE: Thank you! – In 2017, Rand Paul’s then-neighbor tackled him from behind and beat the crap out of him. Rand got six broken ribs and had to take a leave of absence from the Senate to heal. The damage to his lungs required further surgery this summer.

The man could have received up to 10 years in prison for an assault on a member of Congress. The prosecutors sought 21 to 27 months in light of his acceptance of responsibility. The judge gave him 30 days.

Thankfully, a federal appeals court has now ordered the man be resentenced, saying there was “no compelling justification” for the “well-below-Guidelines sentence.”

2019_09 10 Mao

MEDIA: The New York Slime referred to Chinese dictator Mao Zedong as “one of history’s great revolutionary figures.”

Democide: The intentional killing of an unarmed or disarmed person by government agents acting in their authoritative capacity and pursuant to government policy or high command.

PROJECT VERITAS: 10th anniversary [6:43]It’s been 10 years since the bombshell undercover videos from James O’Keefe that exposed ACORN. The videos, which took the media by storm, would lead to ACORN’s defunding.

2019_09 10 religious freedom

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: San Antonio banned Chick-fil-A from its airport, citing “a legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior” and calling the fast food chain “a symbol of hate.”

At issue are Chick-fil-A’s donations to organizations that hold to Christian teaching on sexuality. For Leftists, it’s not enough for Christians to love the sinner, while hating the sin. We must be forced to declare we love the sin.

A new Texas law forbids government actors from discriminating against religious groups or those associated with them, and removes government legal immunity from agencies that do so.

Five Texans who frequent San Antonio’s airport are suing San Antonio under the new law.

2019_09 10 euthanasia

SINGLE PAYER HEALTHCARE: Sarah Palin was right … it DOES mean rationing and death panels – Canadian Sean Tagert, aged 41, was killed by assisted suicide on August 6.

The “compassionate” officials who count Canada’s health care beans decided that taking care of him had become too expensive.

ADOPTION: This is a beautiful story [16:40] – How they found each other is really cool. So is seeing how much the daughter and her son resemble the birth parents.

“When you see something beautiful in someone, tell them. It may take a second to say, but for them it could last a life time.”

When we lived in Chicago, we walked a lot, and I had the great honor of trying to make casual interactions good ones. Passing a little old lady towing her grocery basket, looking at the ground as she walks, she glances up at me and back down again, but i had a big friendly smile – and kept a “safe” distance away – and she looked back up with a smile like a supernova.

One day I stormed out of the house upset, and was all frowny and grumbly as I passed some sad-seeming granny, and maybe three decades later, I still regret that I was not giving her a smile when she saw me.

I still remember the time I was checking out groceries with a weary looking clerk. But she had this most gorgeous color painted on her nails. I blurted out a compliment and her face just LIT up.

It is beautiful (and scary!) to see in action just how much power words can have. I was in an on-line chat where a young woman was sharing her confused feelings about her son. He had been conceived while she was living with her then-boyfriend. They had become Christians and married, but she said she was having a hard time confessing her long-time sin of premarital sex, became it had given her their beautiful son.

I wrote, “You don’t have Matthew because of your sin. You have him in spite of your sin.” She was just SO relieved and uplifted to understand this thing that merely took substituting “in spite of” for “because.”

The scary part, of course, is that if we can do so much good with a few words, imagine how much damage we do when we speak thoughtlessly or out of malice.
