CATHOLIC HERO: Katharine Drexel was born into a wealthy family in Philadelphia in1858, but when she got older, she took a vow of poverty, founded a new order of religious sisters (the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament), and devoted her great wealth to serving Native Americans and African-Americans. (The money she inherited from her father would be worth about $400 million in today’s dollars.)
In 1922, a local KKK group turned against one of the order’s schools in Beaumont, Texas, and threatened to tar and feather the pastor and bomb his church. The nuns prayed and days later, a tornado came and destroyed the headquarters of the KKK killing two of their members. The Sisters were never threatened again.
Katharine Drexel was canonized by the Roman Catholic Church in 2000, only the second American to be canonized a saint and the first who had been born a U.S. citizen. She was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in 2011.
Pelosi about Trump – “I don’t want to see him impeached. I want to see him in prison.” – June 4, 2019
Trump about Pelosi – “I’ve tried to be nice to her because I would have liked to have gotten some deals done. She’s incapable of doing deals, she’s a nasty, vindictive, horrible person.” – June 6, 2019
TUCKER: Democracy is built on debate and competing ideas – The Trump resistance has gone too far. [4:29]
TRUMP ECONOMY: The unemployment rate for workers over the age of 25 without four-year degrees fell to 3.4% in May, the lowest in records extending back to 1992.
MITCH vs. NYT: The New York Times wrote, “Senator Mitch McConnell has turned his chamber into a legislative graveyard, opting to devote the Senate floor almost exclusively to confirming conservative judicial nominations and Trump administration appointees.”
Team Mitch responded, “I’m Mitch McConnell and I approve this message.”
ANOTHER DIRTY DEMOCRAT: Misuse of campaign funds – The Minnesota Campaign Finance & Public Disclosure Board has ordered Ilhan Omar to pay $4K in reimbursements and fines and to file an amended disclosure report.
In particular, they want her to describe fully and disclose the amounts she paid for “immigration services” related to her divorce, since it’s kinda sorta illegal to use campaign funds for a divorce.
Plus, it seems that during two of the years that she was legally married to Ahmed Elmi, she filed joint tax returns with Ahmed Hirsi. Time to get federal IRS officials involved.
AOC: What is this first time representative doing chairing a committee? – Listening to this is painful. Why does someone at this level of government leadership not have an accurate and thorough briefing beforehand? [7:19]
DC DYKE MARCH: Hypocrites – The Anti-Defamation League) today issued the following statement in response to reports that the Washington, D.C. Dyke March has decided to ban Israeli flags and “related national symbols,” apparently including Jewish pride flags with the Star of David, for its upcoming march.
“It is outrageous that in preparing to celebrate LGBTQ pride, the D.C. Dyke March is forbidding Jewish participants from carrying any flag or sign that includes the Star of David, which is universally recognized as a symbol of the Jewish people,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “Banning the Star of David in their parade is anti-Semitic, plain and simple. The LGBTQ community and its supporters are diverse, and that is part of its tremendous strength. We call on the organizers to immediately reverse this policy.”
SOCIALISM: U.N. Aid agencies report that four million Venezuelans have fled the economic and political crisis in their homeland, all but 700,000 of them since the end of 2015.
ABORTION: Louisiana legislators just protected their new anti-abortion laws by passing a constitutional amendment that establishes there is no implied right to abortion in the document.
If the voters approve the measure on the 2020 ballot, it will be ratified into the state constitution. It is a necessary move to rein in liberal judges.
Section 1 of the Kansas Bill of Rights says, “All men are possessed of equal and inalienable natural rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
While that could easily be interpreted to mean that unborn human beings have a right to life, in April, the Kansas Supreme Court delivered a 6-1 decision saying it meant that women have a right to kill that unborn life in their pursuit of liberty and happiness.
TDS: Trump Derangement Syndrome is real – A 46-year-old Florida woman told police that she stabbed herself in the stomach three times with a kitchen knife because, “I’m tired of living in Trump’s country, I’m tired of Trump being president.” The officer recommended she be admitted to a mental facility for evaluation.
Clearly this poor woman has other issues. But I think that the non-stop barrage of Trump hatred by shrieking Democrats and their lapdogs in the partisan media bear a lot of responsibility for pushing her over the edge.
FBI LOVEBIRDS: UNDERCOVERS: Update – After getting kicked out of their original venue by weenies who caved to SJW threats, the producers have secured a new venue.
The play will be at the same time and place, but in the amphitheater at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, just a few blocks from the White House.
It will also still be filmed and uploaded to YouTube after the performance so it will reach an even wider audience.
The crowdfunding campaign reached the original goal, BUT the cost for the new venue is nearly double the old one, so if you could, consider donating here:
