STEVE HILTON: This is an excellent rant! – Washington’s political and media establishment have lost their minds. If there’s any justice, we’d kick out the lot of them and replace them with normal people who can calmly work with each other and the president to get things done.
NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE INTERSTATE COMPACT: Nevada governor says nope – Democrats are still mad that Trump won the electoral, but not the popular vote in 2016. Some Democrat dominated states have passed legislation tying their electoral votes to the results of the results of the 2020 national popular vote, not to the results of their own individual state votes.
As of May 2019, fourteen states and the District of Columbia have joined the compact. Together, they have 189 electoral votes, which is 35.1% of the Electoral College and 70% of the 270 votes needed to give the compact legal force.
Whether this thing could withstand a legal challenge is a big IF. But more to the point, Nevada legislature tried to join, but Governor Sisolak, a Democrat, vetoed the bill, saying,
“Over the past several weeks, my office has heard from thousands of Nevadans across the state urging me to weigh the state’s role in our national elections. After thoughtful deliberation, I have decided to veto Assembly Bill 186.
“Once effective, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact could diminish the role of smaller states like Nevada in national electoral contests and force Nevada’s electors to side with whoever wins the nationwide popular vote, rather than the candidate Nevadans choose.
“I recognize that many of my fellow Nevadans may disagree on this point and I appreciate the legislature’s thoughtful consideration of this important issue. As Nevada’s governor, I am obligated to make such decisions according to my own conscience.
“In cases like this, where Nevada’s interests could diverge from the interests of large states, I will always stand up for Nevada.”
BERNIE: Grassroots Bernie activists fear a repeat of 2016 in next year’s Democratic primary — This time, instead of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, they see the Democratic Party establishment rallying around former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.
BUTTIGIEG: 6,000 deaths per year don’t matter, because they’re a small percentage of the total – When Mayor Buttigieg suggested that late-term abortions were “hypothetical”, Chris Wallace disagreed, noting, “It’s not hypothetical. There’s 6,000 women a year who get abortions in the third trimester.”
Buttigieg replied, “That’s right, representing less than one percent of the cases.”
SWALWELL: Outnumbered? Uhhhhh … you’re polling at 0%. Trump is polling at 48%. Plus, Pelosi reportedly believes impeachment is “a fool’s errand.”
FAUXCAHONTAS: The Breakfast Club hosts ask her about her heritage claims and the infamous DNA test. I thought she handled it well. If I supported her at all, I wouldn’t be letting the whole issue bother me any more (or less) than I let Trump’s philandering with Stormy Daniels bother me.
