ascension st gl

ASCENSION THURSDAY: Forty days after his resurrection, Jesus called his 11 apostles together on the Mount of Olives, outside Jerusalem. Still not completely understanding that Christ’s messianic mission had been spiritual and not political, the disciples asked Jesus if he was going to restore the kingdom to Israel. They were frustrated with Roman oppression and may have envisioned an overthrow of Rome. Jesus answered them:

It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:7-8, NIV)

Then Jesus was taken up, and a cloud hid him from their sight. As the disciples were watching him ascend, two angels dressed in white robes stood beside them and asked why they were looking into the sky. The angels said:

This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11, NIV)

TUCKER: “It’s a purge” – Also, “Trump is just doing this to give Sean Hannity material for his show.” Seriously?

CHENEY: Defending AG Barr – Cheney said that she had full confidence in AG Barr and his judgment when declassifying information. The ABC host and others in the media would have you believe that he’s going to compromise sources and methods, which is absurd. If he were reckless and imprudent he wouldn’t have stood his ground protecting the grand jury information in the Mueller report.

SPYGATE: Christopher Steele is refusing to cooperate with US Attorney John Durham in his investigation into the origins of Spygate. Steele is the former British spy who was paid by Hillary Clinton and the DNC to compile the infamous 35-page dossier smearing Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election

IMPEACH TRUMP: “There’s no witch there” – Rep. Bradley Byrne explains his new legislation to prevent another ‘witch hunt’ like the Mueller probe.

PELOSI STAMMERS: Trump tweeted a video that Dems accused him of doctoring. This side-by-side shows it is San Fran Nancy who needs doctoring.

HARRISON FLOYD: Republican candidate to Congress – Lefties are overwrought at Floyd’s campaign video showing him firing a gun in combat while saying, “I’ll fight Socialists in Congress the same way I fought terrorists in the desert.”

His response to them all was, “We all should remember and honor our fallen this weekend. Your followers’ comments are racist and read like anti-military propaganda wrapped in Marxist ideology. That’s where you stand on Memorial Day Weekend! Are you proud of that?”

American Greatness blogger Debra Heine says, “Their attempt to smear Floyd is backfiring in a big way because there are now more media voices defending Floyd than attacking him, including Red State, the Blaze, Yid With Lid and Western Journal.

“And on Twitter, the tweets by the New York Post and “Now This” are getting swamped by Twitter users mocking their idiotic, hyper-literal interpretation of the ad and some of them are pledging to donate to his campaign.”

SOCIAL MEDIA BANS: This month, Laura Loomer, Paul Joseph Watson, Milo Yiannopoulos, Alex Jones, Gavin McInnes, Tommy Robinson, Mike Morrison, and Nick Monroe have all been banned from Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter.

Remember: If you experience anything like this, you can report it to President Trump @ I’ve done it twice; the form is very simple to fill out.

anti eu

WINNING BIG IN EUROPE: Conservatives won majorities in France, the United Kingdom, and Italy, and gained power in Poland and Hungary. A big part of their platform was protecting Christian culture in Europe by stopping the large scale migration of Muslims who have no intention of assimilating.

doxy tick

TICK ADVICE: From a close relative who knows“To cause problems a tick needs to be embedded for about 24 hours. But sometimes it’s hard to know how long they have been embedded. If you don’t know how long it was embedded, what my physician usually does is prescribe one-time dose of Doxycycline that you take 3 to 5 days after the tick bite. If you take the one dose of Doxycycline in that time window, that is enough to prevent Lyme disease.

The other approach is to wait to see whether symptoms appear or not. But many times symptoms don’t appear until many weeks later, and sometimes the Telltale bull’s-eye never appears. And the testing as to whether you have Lyme disease is fairly inconclusive. My good friend’s daughter has been battling Lyme disease for years and is in a chronic state. She is in constant pain and it is really very devastating.

It is not something to panic about in any way, but it is definitely the right thing to take the one-time dose of Doxycycline if you don’t know how long the tick has been embedded. If you do come down with Lyme disease symptoms, you end up taking a 3-week dose of Doxycycline. I have had to do that twice over the years. It stinks as it really messes up your stomach. The one-time dose is a way better method to handling it.”

VEGANISM: Virpi Mikkonen believed herself to be eating the healthiest of all diets: gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, meat-free, refined sugar-free. And what’s more, she’d built a career inspiring others to eat the same way. She wrote four cookbooks and had 164,500 Instagram followers.

Early last year, she was alarmed by the appearance of a rash on her face. There were other problems: a bout of flu that was hard to shift; crumbling nails; feeling low; and, most worrying, her periods stopped. Her doctor told her it was her diet.

She’s given up veganism and the effects have been dramatic. “It’s amazing. I feel energetic, motivated. I’m sleeping better, the hot flushes and aching in my body have stopped.” Best of all, her periods have returned. She was so relieved she danced round her flat. “I thought, OK, now I am back on track.”

“Some people need animal products for them to be healthy,” she continues. “No one diet is going to suit everyone.”

FREEDOM MARCH: Inspiring speech by formerly gay man – He once believed he was born gay, but the whole lifestyle was empty and depressing. He is opposed to conversion therapy, which he believes is about trying to force someone to change who isn’t willing. He wanted to change and credits Jesus Christ with giving him the graces he needed to succeed.

WHO: Politics trumps science – Despite the well established fact that Gender Identity Disorder represents a serious break with reality and causes a host of problems like depression and high suicide rates, the World Health Organization (WHO) has removed it from its list of mental illnesses.

SCOTUS: Indiana abortion laws – The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear two cases, allowing the previous appeals courts decisions to stand.

Upheld: Babies who die via miscarriage or abortion must be either buried or cremated, not flushed or incinerated with other medical waste.

Overturned: A ban on abortions due to race, sex, or disability. I believe the conservative’s problem with this is that the law attempted to criminalize thought. In his dissent, Justice Clarence Thomas said that Planned Parenthood is using abortion to achieve eugenic goals, which should at least merit a discussion.

RECYCLING: Mindful’s remarks about how some areas are just dumping recycle into landfill got me curious about our local community’s practices. We get charged by the pound for trash pick-up, but curbside recycle pick-up is free, which suggests they really are selling the stuff to cover their costs.

Still, I wanted to know more. So I sent them an email asking for more information and the nice guy at the recycle center sent me the link below. It goes to an open letter to the community about the volatility of the recycle market, their commitment to recycling as much as is possible, and the problems we cause when we don’t pay attention to the guidelines they put out about what is and what is not acceptable.

  1. I see I’m not the only one up late tonight. 😀 I’m about beat and ready to hit the sack, but I saw this and thought I’d pass it along.

Celebrated liberal U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg argued in an opinion released Tuesday that a pregnant woman is not a “mother.”

It should say, “clerks for Justice Ginsburg, who is in a medically-induced coma argued…”

I guess when I hug my daughter on Mother’s Day for the baby she lost just a few months into pregnancy, I’m making a mistake. Silly us. She (we all) sure grieved like a mother who lost a child!
