TRUMP: The only adult in the room – Two dozen demi-nomi-wannabes … but none of them ever talk about anything that really matters.
SWING STATE WIN: Pennsylvania’s 12th District elected state Rep. Fred Keller (R) to finish Rep. Tom Marino’s (R) term. Marino stepped down in January. The district has a sizeable Republican population so the result should not shock anyone. However, the large margin of defeat may show a bright 2020 for Republicans.
ABORTION: Cheap, Legal and Lots – Proving once again that you can no longer be a genuine Catholic and vote Democrat, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee just canceled a fundraiser for Rep. Dan Lipinski, D-IL, because he is pro-life.
The New York Times said this “underscored the extent to which support for abortion rights has become a central litmus test for Democrats in the aftermath of President Trump’s two appointments to the Supreme Court.”
REAL CLEAR POLITICS: Tracking the polls.
BERNIE: “Democrats are not saying impeachment,” Rep. Ted Lieu told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday – Well, except for all the Demi-nomi-wannabes like Bernie who are saying it and all the times Democrats have introduced articles of impeachment. But yeah, other that all THAT, they’re saying nothing.
A CBS News poll released last week showed 53% Americans believe that congressional Democrats should drop their investigations into Russian election meddling in 2016 and move onto other matters, while 44% want the probes to continue. Similarly, 58% say they’ve heard enough about special counsel Robert Mueller’s conclusions, while 37% want to hear more.
BETO: CNN gave him a Tuesday night, prime time town hall – Only 719,000 people tuned in; that was 29% less than CNN’s 2019 viewer average for that time slot.
MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace is sad face about Beto’s sinking fame. In a gushing interview on her daytime program Deadline: White House, Wallace criticized the “snarky” national press for dragging O’Rourke, asked him what the media could do better to cover him, and told him to grab one of MSNBC’s reporters whenever he didn’t “like what’s covered.”
