Ask God what He thinks

MOVIE RECOMMENDATION: I watched the new remake of Overboard yesterday and LOVED it! And that’s really saying something, because I LOVED the original. They kept all the sweetness, but successfully reversed the genders, added some twists, and actually made the ending even better. I highly recommend it for a great date night flick.

THE MUSLIM JESUS: He is not the Son of God who died and rose to save us from our sins – John McArthur explains the Muslim’s Jesus and their End Times prophecies. Long, but worth the time.

2019_04 Nigerian Christians dead

MUSLIMS OPEN FIRE: Muslim militants crashed a dedication party at the Ruhaniya Baptist Church in Nasarawa, Nigeria, and began firing at random. Seventeen people are dead, including the baby’s mother. The father, who was also shot, remains in critical condition.

SYNAGOGUE SHOOTING: One person has died and three more were injured during a shooting at a synagogue in San Diego, California, on the final day of Passover. The suspect is a 19-year-old man who used an AR-15 style weapon, entered the synagogue, and was engaged by an off-duty border patrol agent.

Democrats are blaming the gun. Of course. God forbid they should look in the mirror at their own anti-Semitism.

BRENNAN: Brennan was CIA Director March 2013 to January 2017 — His fingerprints are all over Spygate and we now have a real Attorney General who believes spying did occur during the 2016 election.

ROSENSTEIN: On Thursday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein blasted the Obama administration’s handling of the Russia investigation, rebuked the mainstream media’s coverage of the investigation, and defended his role in the probe. It is the first time Rosenstein has spoken publicly about the investigation since the release of the Mueller report last week.

john lennon imagine

IMAGINE: In 1971, John Lennon released this song — It’s like the Progressive’s anthem or something.

Imagine there’s no heaven. It’s easy if you try.
No hell below us. Above us only sky.
Imagine all the people living for today.

Imagine there’s no countries. It isn’t hard to do.
Nothing to kill or die for. And no religion too.
Imagine all the people living life in peace.

HEY SICKOS: Quit sexualizing minors – Lawmakers in Ohio are taking a stand against the sexualization of children by introducing new legislation that would ban drag shows and other sexually-suggestive or explicit performances from using minors. It was introduced after 9-year-old Jake, who performs in drag under the name “Miss Mae Hem,” appeared in December at JD Hendersons bar in Lancaster.

Opponents say it’s “art” and “We shouldn’t tell parents they are criminals for supporting a child interested in this art form. It sends the wrong message. This is when a child, feeling alone and unwanted, will leave home and quickly be susceptible to human trafficking.”

Speaking of sending messages … how about the message the bar, its patrons, that kid’s parents are sending? It’s clear from the video that he is not particularly talented and would never be given a stage if a bunch of sick adults didn’t get a kick out of watching a young boy flaunting himself while dressed up as a girl. The kid’s mom says they carefully monitor his routines and the money (allegedly) goes to some charity or other. Ohhhhhhhhh. Yeah. That makes it all right. NOT.

2019 Earth Day

EARTH DAY 2019: Oh “darn” … Earth Day was last week and I missed it.

FUNNY: The Race by the MozART string quartet.

  1. Any particular reason why you put the John Lennon Imagine blurp in there today?

    • Perhaps because it is true. IMAGINE is the progressive’s anthem.

      • I asked chrissy why she posted it because there’s no link, no other info, it’s not John’s birthday or death date or the album release date anniversary, it’s just there. Thought perhaps I was missing something.

        • Thank you. I come here and see the best posts. My first go-to every day. It only seemed to me that the posts were sometimes random and trying to put 2+2 together.

Oh! I came back now to get more info on John McArthur. Knew about most, but not so much about Jesus as viewed by Islamic and their end-times.

Also, you and adriennescatholiccorner have feed me. As a Protestant, I have never had such a wonderful procession of Christ’s Passion (Easter) this year.

I’ll donate ASAP. BTW never donated to others until now, but have started. In this economy, we’re not living hand-to-mouth now.

Age old art question … does a piece only mean what the artist intended or do what the various members of the audience get out of it matter?

I was just thinking about this yesterday after I happened upon an old blog about someone who hated Harry Potter. “Is Harry Potter going to suck our kids into witchcraft?” was a huge topic of discussion for Christian parents when the books came out.

My take was that the stories were fun, so my kids wanted to read them, the battle between good and evil was very clearly drawn, and the “magic” was not at all like real witchcraft.

I know some parents didn’t want their kids to read the books at all, but given their popularity, I figured my kids would just sneak read them somewhere else. They’d feel guilty about it, but wouldn’t be able to talk with me about any questions they had. So I went with, “Let’s read these together and talk about fantasy vs. reality, good vs. evil, Harry Potter’s magic vs. Satanism.”

Ah … good question. Should’ve known my Mindful would wonder ’bout that one. LOL Truth is … I watched an old episode of Quantum Leap where Sam Becket sings Imagine, designating it as his favorite song ever. I was familiar with the tune, but had never paid attention to the lyrics. I was more than a tad appalled.

      • We used to tape Quantum Leap and watch it after the kids were abed. Of course this meant, there were quite a few episodes we fell asleep during! I didn’t follow his jump to Star Trek spaceship captain. 😉

        Wonder what that means! 🙂

‘Strooth, Milady and I early-on discovered we shared a deep common interest in the Beatles’ music. (She even saw them, “live” in Chicago, if you can call seeing tiny little figures far away “live.”)

John got a bad rep, starting ‘way back when he was taken as bragging when he disdainfully complained that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. (How many kids of that era now regret burning their Please Please Me albums!?) So, Beatles Derangement Syndrome goes ‘way back.

Likewise, Imagine became the anthem of a lame, stupid generation, a song now much beloved and much hated for what people think he meant (also, overplaying). I’ll just say, people treat the song like Martin Luther’s manifesto nailed to the door when it was really just poor old John’s trying to think things through, scribbled hastily on a sticky-note.

  2. NYTimes issued a profound, groveling, no-excuses apology and vowed never to publish such a thing ever again.

Hahaha. No, they published this two days later (h/t Ace♠):

GeXCrit: TY also, “you and adriennescatholiccorner have feed me. As a Protestant, I have never had such a wonderful procession of Christ’s Passion (Easter) this year.” I am so glad! It’s wonderful to know I’m not just feeding my fellow Catholics. 🙂

GenXCrit: “donate”? We’re all retired and work for free. But thanks for the thought! Comments and a little praise now and then are the best “pay” you can give us. 🙂
