TANK MANUFACTURE: Trump visited Lima, Ohio’s tank manufacturing facility. In 2012, the Obama Administration sought to close it. He was blocked, but the number of employees at the plant still plummeted to just 75. He never visited the plant.

Trump went today and told its workers what they mean to our country. “It is here in Lima, right here, that American greatness is forged with American hands, with American heart, and with American pride.”

He also announced the addition of 400 new jobs at the facility.

TRUMP’S BIG BEAUTIFUL WALL: The Pentagon has found up to $12.8 billion in allocated funds that they say is excess to their needs and could be used to build the wall.

During one five-minute span on Tuesday morning, Border Patrol caught more than 400 illegal immigrants trying to break into the U.S. in El Paso, Texas. Officials said most of the migrants were family members or unaccompanied children from Central America, enticed to come to the U.S. by lax policies that virtually ensure their quick release into the community.

NINTH CIRCUS COURT OVERTURNED: Nielsen v. Preap – The Supreme Court overturned the 9th’s decision regarding detention of criminal aliens. The vote was along “party” lines, with Justice “Swing” Roberts voting with the conservatives.

William Jacobson says, “Equally important, the court’s focus on statutory language and interpretation bodes well for the Trump administration at such point as the litigation over Trump’s Declaration of National Emergency makes its way to the Supreme Court.”

“The bottom line is that the government has the power to indefinitely hold criminal aliens who are released from custody, so that they can be deported, even if the alien was released from custody long ago, without providing a bond hearing.”

PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS: A report covering August 2015 to July 2017 found, “The situation for Christians has declined since 2015 as a result of violence and oppression. This is especially significant given the rate of decline in the immediate run-up to the period under review. The one exception is Saudi Arabia, where the situation was already so bad it could scarcely get any worse.”

MUSLIMS KILL NINE MORE CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA: This brings the death toll of Christians massacred in central Nigeria since February up to 120. From June 2015 to June 2018, Fulani militants have killed 8,800 Christians and other non-Muslims. When mainstream media have reported on the slaughter of Christians in central Nigeria, they have downplayed the religious nature of the killings, preferring to attribute the violence to “ethnic tensions,” a “battle for land and resources,” or even “climate change.”

SATAN’S WORK: It’s not murder, but the Nazis didn’t start out killing Jews either. In the UK, Christians who believe in the reality of biological genders are being persecuted for “mis-gendering” people. It’s become an issue requiring a police investigation!

13-16 feel pain

FETUSES FEEL PAIN: This thread by a NICU nurse is hard reading – The last of 15 tweets reads, “I could go on and on about the pain the extreme micropreemies feel just from diaper and position changes. But there’s also pain from chest tubes, endotracheal tubes, drains. They feel pain. We do all we can to prevent it. Do not tell me they don’t feel pain.”

KENTUCKY FOR LIFE: Gov. Matt Bevin signed a pro-life bill into law banning abortions on babies due to their gender, race, or disability. The law took effect immediately.

The American Civil Liberties Union and EMW Women’s Center, the only abortion facility in Kentucky, already have filed a lawsuit to block the law.

Democrats accompanied by adult

BABYLON BEE NAILS IT: A number of Democrats have proposed changes to the structure of government that they think would help them win, such as lowering the voting age to 16, abolishing the Electoral College, packing the Supreme Court, and changing how Senate seats are allocated. Now, though, some of the Democratic presidential hopefuls are attacking the heart of the matter: what they call an “outdated Constitution” that sometimes “allows Republicans to be elected.”

Warren and numerous other Democrats have proposed an amendment to the Constitution that will state that only Democrats are allowed to win elections, a proposal they say will increase election “fairness.”

WORSHIPING GAIA: One has to wonder if this is a satirical comedy team, but apparently they’re dead serious, especially about the important of making as many babies dead as possible. One of them is a practitioner of “Lightworkers Healing Method, a system of Angelically-Guided Multi-Dimensional Energy Healing for Soul Purpose: http://lightworkersmethod.com/.” Sounds about right. Watching these videos, I got the distinct feeling these women were channeling spirits, which is NOT something any Christian should get involved with.

  1. [Le siiiigh! This poor old tablet has apparently learned to sense when I have typed a bunch without saving, so then it reboots. Really, just reboots randomly. Not a good sign. If this machine dies on me, I’m pretty much out of the digital world. Which one is the patron saint of lost causes again, Jude? It’s not just the equipment; might need some Dymphna, too. So, what was I typing before the crash?]

In my Episcopal upbringing, we didn’t have holy days four times a week (or if we did, nobody told me). We kids secularly celebrated Patrick’s and Valentine’s, but the “Saint” part was just figurative, like “St. Louis, Mo.” ‘Twas through Milady I was introduced to the wonders of the crowded Catholic holiday calendar, and although we didn’t practice RC (to my MiL’s disappointment), we did borrow some celebrations. St. Nick’s was my favorite.

Milady and her younger brother share Joseph in their names, as their late, sainted mother (who had the same name as Milady) reminded them on St Joe’s.

The picture of Joseph and baby Jesus is really nice. I like it when Joe is not depicted as ancient. The artist has worked the sunlight to give the baby a natural-seeming halo, nicely done. Not too thrilled about the spikes. Makes Joe look like a sloppy or neglectful dad. (Throw the kid some more wood blocks, guy!) I presume it’s a crucifixion allusion, but, ugh, he’s just a baby here! Oh, well, “art” — symbolism ‘n’ stuff over realism. Real woodworking shops aren’t that clean. 😀

Always thought Joe got short shrift in the records. We can only infer what influence he had on the human character of Jesus. And, thus, us.
