2019_03 04 A hugging Grandma's remembrance card

MASCOT NEWS: Color me a Gobsmacked Grammy! – Mama Buzz had a parent-teacher conference today and gave me a couple of highlights. Bunny is mildly autistic, but functioning well enough to be in a mainstream first grade classroom with support. She’s currently reading at a second grade level and can identify and name triangle, rectangle, trapezoid, oval, pentagon, hexagon, cube, cone, cylinder, sphere, and pyramid. LENT PREP: I know today is Fat Tuesday and it’s all about party, party, party. But Lent starts tomorrow. So I really want you to give 38 minutes today … or tomorrow if you’re too busy with the Mardi Gras thing … to REALLY LISTEN to this video. Multiple tissue alerts.

BEAUTIFUL: A 10-year-old wrote this to encourage those with dyslexia.

I am stupid
Nobody would ever say
I have a talent for words
I was meant to be great
That is wrong
I am a failure
Nobody could ever convince me to think that
I can make it in life

Now read it again from the bottom up.

TAX CUTS: I love this guy!

BORDER: 50% increase – Border agents in Southeast Texas have apprehended more than 100,000 immigrants attempting to enter the United States illegally since the beginning of October.

2019_03 05 AOC jail

CORRUPTION: So much for AOC’s promises of transparency – According to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday, two political action committees founded by AOC’s top aide funneled over $1 million in political donations into two of his own private companies. Chakrabarti’s companies appear to have been set up for the sole purpose of obscuring how the political donations were used.

2019_03 04 AOC trash bags

MS. GREEN NEW DEAL: She takes plastic grocery bags, then throws them out?!?! — Uhhhhhhhhh … does she not know that they are recyclable? Does she not know that stores offer paper bags? Has she never heard of using cloth shopping bags? But she’s going to try to LEGISLATE how we all deal with the environment?!

PRO TIP: If you want to recycle those bags, you need to take them to a place like Wal-Mart or Wegmans that has a bin specifically for collecting them. Do not put them into your curb side recycling bin with glass, paper, and plastic. They mess up the recycling machines.

MRC Reality Check: Big stories the media ignored this weekend. NYC is a “gun free zone” and, no surprise, rapes are up 24% while murders are up 50%.

SOCIALISM REALITIES: Men who fled Venezuela talk about what socialism is really like.

CO2 plants

THE EARTH IS GREENER THAN IT WAS 20 YEARS AGO: And people can take the credit – The human-hating, AGW thugs won’t want to hear this, but a new study from NASA shows we’re helping the planet.

The increase in greenery is due both to added carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, leading to more leaf growth in northern forests, and to ambitious tree planting programs and agriculture in China and India.

This new insight was made possible by a 20-year-long data record from a NASA instrument (MODIS) orbiting the Earth on two satellites.

MMR vaccine

MMR VACCINE: Does not cause autism – According to a new study of over 650,000 children, the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine does not increase the risk of autism and does not trigger autism in children who are at risk.

Modern education

THE LEFT’S ANTI-AMERICAN AGENDA: How did we get from the Declaration of Independence to the State of Political Correctness? – “Every child in America entering school at the age of five is mentally ill because he comes to school with certain allegiances to our founding fathers, toward our elected officials, toward his parents, toward a belief in a supernatural being, and toward the sovereignty of this nation as a separate entity. It’s up to you as teachers to make all these sick children well by creating the international child of the future.” — Chester M. Pierce, Harvard psychiatrist, speaking as an expert in public education at the 1973 International Education Seminar

  1. Hugging Great-Grandma’s funeral remembrance card? Suddenly very dusty in here.

If you want to recycle those grocery bags, also be aware that some stores have bag return bins… and then just throw them in the dumpster. Probably not Wal-Mart. They ship them all to a recycle center in China… where they’re thrown in the ocean. 😦
