  • TELL TRUMP YOU’RE WITH HIM: An analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) estimated last week that President Donald Trump’s border wall would only need to stop a small percentage of illegal crossings to pay for itself over the course of the next decade. Click on the link below to send an email to the White House expressing your support for having him stand firm against the Democrats on border security. I just did it and was not forced to sign up for anything or donate money. It’s well worth the few minutes this takes. For every constituent who takes action, staffers assume there are 1,000 other constituents who feel the same way who did not.

SUPPORT FOR WALL GROWING: Forty-two percent now support a wall, the highest percentage in ABC/Post polling since Trump first proposed it. Fifty-four percent are opposed.

SMOKE ‘EM OUT: “Federal employees are starting to feel the strain of the shutdown. I am one of them. But for the sake of our nation, I hope it lasts a very long time, till the government is changed and can never return to its previous form. The lapse in appropriations is more than a battle over a wall. It is an opportunity to strip wasteful government agencies for good. … 80 percent (of government workers) feel no pressure to produce results. If they don’t feel like doing what they are told, they don’t. Why would they? We can’t fire them.”

REPORT ON MUELLER INVESTIGATION: “No evidence has emerged” — They kept that for the NINTH paragraph.

MANCHURIAN MEDIA: William Jacobson at Legal Insurrection — “The people serving the Russians’ purposes are the media which weekly rolls out unproven and non-disprovable accusations of collusion, delegitimizing our political system far beyond Vladimir Putin’s wildest dreams.” He analyzes the media’s reports closely and finds little to no substance.

“THEY SHOULD’VE THOUGHT OF THAT BEFORE THEY CHANGED THE RULES”: “We don’t need one Democrat.” — South Carolina Republican and the new chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee committee, Sen. Lindsey Graham, told “Fox News Sunday” that he is “hell-bent” on ensuring that the next Supreme Court vacancy — whether it is ailing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat or otherwise — is filled by a conservative, regardless of what outrage follows from the left.

Graham’s interview is right at the beginning of the video.

UNHEALTHY VEGANS: I’m not at all surprised — A UK study showed that vegans took twice as many sick days due to minor illnesses as did carnivores. It also showed that vegans were three times more likely to see their GP during the flu seasons. I’ve suspected for a while now that veganism isn’t good for most people on a long-term basis. People who go on a vegan diet rave about how great they feel, so yeah, it’s a good cleansing diet … for a month or two. I mean, a 30- or 60-day juice fast is just vegan in a glass, right? Maybe some people can make it work long-term. If so, bully for them. I just wish that “missionary” vegans would stop preaching at the rest of us in that holier-than-thou tone. I don’t actually care what food choices other people make and I kinda resent them deciding that my food choices are any of their business.

ULTRASOUNDS PREVENT ABORTION: Ultrasounds before an abortion are good medical practice, but many abortion clinics don’t do them. And the ones that do don’t want the mothers to see the imagery. In Planned Parenthood’s world, allowing a woman to see an image of her baby on the ultrasound screen is considered a “dangerous agenda”, not because it’s dangerous to the patients, but because it’s dangerous to Planned Parenthood’s bottom line. 78% of the women who see their unborn babies on ultrasound reject abortion.

  1. 30 Dem congresscritters are in Puerto Rico.

Time for the President to exercise his emergency powers and cut off all connections with that obviously dangerous island-state. Quick! Before they start to come back to D.C.!!

    😀

  2. I wrote a comment replying to yesterday’s B&B, then decided not to send it. Since you’ve repeated the driving-on-slick-roads warning (good one about cruise control), I dug out my comment to post after all. I was gonna say… 🙂

Didn’t watch the icy road video yet, but I’ve managed to recover from some really awful slides on ice.

No matter how good one’s ability, it’s always so terrifying! Driving suddenly becomes skiing, for which tires are just not that good! Actually, it reminds me of driving Dad’s boat where left and right are opposite, which experience has actually helped me through some auto sliding.

Just the other night, on a rain-slick road, I could feel our car hydroplane, only for just a moment, but, just that fast, there’s that incredibly sick feeling of being in a fast-hurtling box that’s no longer in one’s control.

I did a little dramatic bit about loss of control a couple of years back. Kinda long, about 6 minutes, slow build-up. Starts about 12:15 on this video. I’m not recommending it. I just have to hang webworks on hooks wherever I find them because I’m obsessive compulsive like that. 😉
