Without exception, he’s worked hard and the people have responded with turn away crowds full of joy and enthusiasm. In the reply section to this thread, I’ll post some highlights from these rallies. They could be separate threads on another day, but there’s just too much else going on.

Hometown hero, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity shared the stage with the president in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Lee Greenwood sang “God Bless The USA.” You’ll never hear that anywhere the democrats gather …. Never.

Here’s the video. Talk about enthusiasm.

Rush Limbaugh Rocks Missouri Rally with President Donald Trump
He said that the Trump rallies convinced him that Trump would win in 2016 because he had such a great connection with voters.

“The people in Washington really haven’t taken the time to understand why you voted for Trump; they just think you’re stupid for doing so,” he said.

Limbaugh praised Trump for his willingness to fight for the American people, despite the unrelenting criticism from the left and the media.

“Even now, the real anger at Trump is actually at you for having elected him,” he said.

      Ain’t that the truth!

Our editorial board bashes Trump voters all the time. I bite my tongue, because I’m so scared that I’ll lose my job, which I’ve been lucky to keep. It’s getting ridiculous. At the other newspaper, I worked in the advertising department so it wasn’t as bad. I could just go to my office and shut the door to the newsroom if it got too nasty, but I am part of the newsroom now and there’s no escaping it. There are no offices for us worker bees, just small desks in a big room. To drown out their noise, I just put in my earbuds and listen to Rush, Hannity or church sermons.

I plan on leaving work early today so I don’t have to be there during their election coverage.

Trump Rally Breaks Into Chilling Rendition Of ‘Amazing Grace’ As Trump Pauses For Fainting Woman
Trump took the stage and was halfway through his boilerplate stump when a woman fainted. The arena was very hot and very crowded and fainting is a relatively commonplace occurrence at large political rallies like this one.

Trump asked “Is there a doctor in the house?” and upon seeing that the woman was being attended to said “Take your time. Take your time. We have plenty of time, right? Don’t rush. That is one of our great people.”

The crowd stood silently. “Say a little prayer. That is good. Say a little prayer,” Trump said to the audience. A minute later a spontaneous rendition of the classic hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ began to ring out.

The hymn echoed throughout the arena as the woman was carried out of the hall.

President Trump then turned to the audience, “I want to just thank everybody. That was beautiful. At the end was beautiful. ‘Amazing Grace.’ That was beautiful. Hopefully, she will be ok.”

I don’t like to bring up Teh Won if I can help it, but honestly … can you imagine him showing this kind of grace and kindess … EVER?!

‘Go Home To Mommy’ — President Trump Sends Protester Packing, Crowd Goes Wild
“All right, get him out of here, please. Get him out,” Trump said as he directed his attention to the protester. “Out! Out! Go home to mommy! Go home to mommy.”

After pointing out the fact that cameras were pointed at the protester, Trump said, “All right, can we have our law enforcement take him out of here, please?”

  4. The Hardest Working Man In Politics – so incredible, isn’t he?

Dad was a behind-the-scenes politician. He was instrumental back in the 1960s in turning Oklahoma from the old yaller-dawg Democrat state it had been since statehood to the all-GOP state it has become, including getting the first GOP governor. He took a party full of loser RINOs in this state and turned it around, largely with the help of a lot of good old-fashioned GOTV door-to-door groundwork. We hosted Goldwater at our house. (Just the other day I ran across the old, battered pic of me & baby sister with Barry – I still remember the scene, posing in the hallway, Dad taking the picture.) There’s pix of Dad at the conventions, shaking hands with Ike and Dick. Dad knew how politics worked.

Dad died in early ’68 (hard to believe I’m a decade and a half older than he ever got to be), before I could ever really get to know him as an adult, much less talk politics with him or get on his bad side like my brothers did. We might’ve clashed during my “libertarian” days. I’ll never know.

But as I’ve watched Trump, from the beginning, I keep thinking, yup! That’s how you do it! I’d like to think Dad would really appreciate Trump’s methods, and especially his powerful party lobbying – actually re-shaping the battle lines and giving that tired old party new vigor, new direction, and a spine.

And he makes it look easy.
