Dan Crenshaw Fires Back at ‘SNL’ Star Pete Davidson: ‘Vets Don’t Deserve to See Their Wounds Used as Punchlines’

Davidson said during Saturday’s “Weekend Update” segment that Dan Crenshaw, whose photo was displayed, was “kinda cool” but that viewers might be “surprised he’s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hit man in a porno movie.” He added, “I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.”

FOR THOSE WITH A SENSE OF THE MORBID OR A VERY STRONG GAG REFLEX, HERE’S THE SWILL THEY AIRED LAST SATURDAY:

Crenshaw, who is running against Democrat Todd Litton for an open suburban Houston district seat, replied in a tweet on Sunday, saying: “Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended. That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.”

Last week, disabled Air Force veteran James Berrie made national news when he called out an MSNBC crew for blocking – and refusing to leave – the only handicapped parking spot outside his local voting place. Berrie has multiple sclerosis and is bound to an electric wheelchair, but the NBC News crew forced Berrie to park in a spot that left little space for his van’s ramp, making it difficult for him to vote.

“This is suppression. If I couldn’t park I couldn’t vote,” Berrie wrote.

Berrie told Houston’s KHOU the NBC News reporter initially promised to move, but the crew was still blocking the spot when he returned 15 minutes later.
