Republican Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley sounds off.

Senator Hatch’s closing argument.

VOTE MAY BE TOMORROW: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell filed cloture on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, setting up a Friday procedural vote and a possible Saturday confirmation vote.

THIS COULD BE BAD: Republican Senator Daines is going to be walking his daughter down the aisle on Saturday. In Montana.

FARCE: “The case against Kavanaugh is constantly changing, but one thing has stayed the same: Democrats will make any argument, no matter how implausible or over-the-top, to try to sink him.” -The Perjury Farce, Editorial, National Review, October 2, 2018

POLL: A new Harvard CAP/Harris poll found 60% of Americans say Kavanaugh should be confirmed if the FBI finds no evidence to corroborate Ford’s claims, 69% say the confirmation process has been a “national disgrace”, and 75% say Sen. Dianne Feinstein should have turned over the letter from Ford when she received back it in July.

FBI REPORT: The newly-released FBI supplemental report on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh exonerates him. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley said, “There’s nothing in it that we didn’t already know. … Judge Kavanaugh is one of the most qualified nominees to ever come before the Senate. He’s served with distinction for twelve years on the nation’s most important circuit court and dedicated himself to serving the American public. We know that he will be an excellent justice because he’s been an excellent judge.”

SOUR GRAPES: The Senate Democrats who pushed for the FBI investigation are unhappy with its result. The Senate Judiciary Committee’s ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California actually scolded the White House for allegedly tying the FBI’s hands. Rep Adam Schiff decried the “artificial deadline” which was the deadline Democrats asked for and agreed to.

MIDTERMS: A month ago, Quinnipiac found Democrats leading Republicans by 14 points in generic congressional ballots among registered voters. Today, that gap is 7 points.

SELECTIVE OUTRAGE: Juanita Broaddrick, who alleged Bill Clinton raped her in 1978 in Arkansas, blasted Democrats on “Hannity” Thursday night for their double standard for sexual assault victims. VIDEO at URL.

FAKE NEWS: NBC News has recently published three different accuracy-challenged articles about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

TWITTER: “The media says it’s horrible & unconscionable that Trump “mocked” Ford last night. A day earlier they were celebrating Matt Damon mocking Brett Kavanaugh on SNL. A week before that they were covering Stormy Daniels talk about Trump’s penis on Kimmel. The media can kiss my ass.” – James Woods

Updates on the linked article confirm what I’d read, reassuring us Daines will make the vote anyway. They can keep it open for hours as necessary, apparently. He’s solid, I presume.

Some folks suggested holding the vote at the wedding.

Justice of the Peace Grassley: “All those in favor say aye” [chorus of ayes]

“If anyone has any objection to this nominee, let him speak now or forever hold his (SHUT UP AVANETTI!) hold his peace. I now pronounce you Associate Justice. Your opponents may kiss your a$$.”

By the way, the justices are on various committees, assigned by seniority. The incoming junior justice will be in charge of the committee on 😀 party planning 😀 – kegger at Kav’s after the swearing-in. Watch Ginsburg limbo!

  2. Nice collection of Kavanaugh links, chrissy. Thanks.

Extra-tasty since we had to fast yesterday with no PN articles. 😦

Mark Dice riffs on Kav’s college roommate’s silly claims.

BlogPlug: More Dice videos and many others daily at other people’s videos.

    • Argh. Ironically (or something) for my blogplug, I embedded the whole playlist instead of the single video I wanted. Well, Kav roomie is video #5 in the playlist. 🙄

Mark Dice interviews college students about safe space … is it just me or is the busty woman in the skimpy top just too ironic? (Starts around :20)

        • Been many moons since Dice did those on-the-boardwalk interviews. He should still venture into that occasionally. He could really draw out the crazy with his (usually) deadpan look and cagey questions. I also miss the way the cameraman would sometimes gratuitously follow some scantily-clad rollerblading hottie. Kept the vid fresh. 🙂

Is this the one you wanted to post?

        • Yup, that’s the vid.

Yale roomie’s claim is real weak sauce, isn’t it? They’re scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Kav would end weekend nights (and sometimes weekdays, maybe, maybe not, I don’t remember really duh) inebriated and singing loudly wearing an old leather football helmet. Roomie said, everybody did stuff like that, even I, sez he. Yeaaahhh?? So… ??

As Dice says, Cooper seems quite disappointed there was nothing more.

College roommates- reminds me of when, just a few weeks into my college freshmen first term, I conspired with Tim across the hall that his intolerable roommate should switch places with me and I could get away from my intolerable roommate. They fell for it, and Tim and I got along fine, even joined a frat together, while our former roomies drove each other nuts.

Obviously, I’m unfit for the Supreme Court. Well, I mean, I am unfit, anyway, actually…
