POLL: A new Harvard CAP/Harris poll found 60% of Americans say Kavanaugh should be confirmed if the FBI finds no evidence to corroborate Ford’s claims, 69% say the confirmation process has been a “national disgrace”, and 75% say Sen. Dianne Feinstein should have turned over the letter from Ford when she received back it in July.
FBI REPORT: The newly-released FBI supplemental report on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh exonerates him. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley said, “There’s nothing in it that we didn’t already know. … Judge Kavanaugh is one of the most qualified nominees to ever come before the Senate. He’s served with distinction for twelve years on the nation’s most important circuit court and dedicated himself to serving the American public. We know that he will be an excellent justice because he’s been an excellent judge.”
SOUR GRAPES: The Senate Democrats who pushed for the FBI investigation are unhappy with its result. The Senate Judiciary Committee’s ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California actually scolded the White House for allegedly tying the FBI’s hands. Rep Adam Schiff decried the “artificial deadline” which was the deadline Democrats asked for and agreed to.
MIDTERMS: A month ago, Quinnipiac found Democrats leading Republicans by 14 points in generic congressional ballots among registered voters. Today, that gap is 7 points.
SELECTIVE OUTRAGE: Juanita Broaddrick, who alleged Bill Clinton raped her in 1978 in Arkansas, blasted Democrats on “Hannity” Thursday night for their double standard for sexual assault victims. VIDEO at URL.
