JOB TRAINING INITIATIVE: So far, 23 organizations have committed themselves to President Trump’s new initiative to help foster job training programs for the 6.6 million U.S. jobs that are currently unfilled because nobody knows how to do them. Many of these require special skills, but not college degrees.
JUDICIAL CONFIRMATIONS: The Senate confirmed Andrew Oldham to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in a narrow 50-49 vote, making him the 23rd circuit court judge confirmed since President Trump took office. The previous record was set by President George H.W. Bush who had 22 appeals court judges confirmed during his first two years in office. Later this week, the Senate is scheduled to vote on Ryan Bounds for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
