I had so many items in Bits & Bytes about Trump’s SCOTUS nominee, I decided to just give him his own posting.

WIDESPREAD SUPPORT: President Trump made the right choice. Eighteen of Judge Kavanaugh’s female law clerks, 26 state Attorneys General, and more than 160 members of the Yale University community have signed letters praising his unsurpassed qualifications for a seat on the Court.

PATHETIC: So far, pissant leftists have attacked Judge Brett Kavanaugh for liking beer, loving baseball, paying his debts, dancing with a little girl who lost her dad, and being named “Brett.”

KISS MY A**, CHUCKIE: Big shock … Chuck Schumer and other Democrat leaders want to block the Kavanaugh nomination. To be successful, they’ll need all 49 Senate Democrats to vote no, plus two moderate Republicans. Since Republicans Murkowski or Collins are pro-abortion, they may be on board. Not so much Democrats Manchin, Heitkamp and Donnelly, who all supported Gorsuch. When asked how he would respond if Schumer attempted to “whip” him, Manchin scoffed. “I’ll be 71 years old in August, you’re going to whip me? Kiss my you know what.”

NY GOVERNOR: Confirming that he is dumber than a box of rocks, my governor has announced that he will sue if SCOTUS overturns Roe v. Wade.

  • Rock #1: You can’t sue the Supreme Court.
  • Rock #2: If Roe and Doe were overturned, it would merely throw abortion regulation back on the states.
  • Rock #3: New York legalized abortion BEFORE Roe v. Wade happened, so regardless of what SCOTUS does, we can still go right on being the baby slaughtering capital of the country. Hurrah /sarc.

WOMEN DEFEND KAVANAUGH: Former female employees are defending Judge Brett Kavanaugh after a feminist group questioned whether Kavanaugh knew about the bad behavior of his former boss, Judge Alex Kozinski. “I worked for Alex Kozinski in the summer of 1992, while Brett Kavanaugh was a law clerk,” said Leslie Fahrenkopf Foley. “It was a completely professional environment, and I never saw or experienced any harassment, nor did I ever feel uncomfortable. Brett Kavanaugh is, moreover, a consummate gentleman, and I cannot imagine he ever knew about or condoned any workplace misconduct by Judge Kozinski or anyone else.”

  1. From Mark Crutcher at Life Dynamics:

“This weekend, the rabid pro-abortion senator from Maine, Susan Collins, said that she would not support a nominee to the Supreme Court who is ‘hostile’ to abortion rights because ‘that would mean to me that their judicial philosophy did not include a respect for established decisions, established law.’

“Her argument is that abortion is not even open to discussion since it is ‘settled law.’ From this, we can conclude that, had she been a senator in 1860, she would have voted against any nominee to the Court who was hostile to the right to own slaves. We can also reasonably assume she would have opposed any nominee to the Court who, in the 1900s, supported women’s suffrage. After all, male-only voting had been ‘settled law’ for over 100 years.

“Here is a news flash for you Susan Collins. The Supreme Court is not infallible and, in fact, it has a long history of discovering that some of its prior rulings were wrong. So despite all your noble-sounding gibberish about ‘judicial philosophy’ and ‘respect for established decisions,’ the fact is that you know legalized abortion cannot be defended, and this ‘settled law’ nonsense is just your shabby way of deflecting the public’s attention so you don’t have to defend it.”
