It’s Kavanaugh!

Trump Nominates Brett Kavanaugh to SCOTUS

Schumer, Leftists Melt Down Over Trump’s SCOTUS Pick ‘Kavanaugh Will Lead to the Deaths of Countless Women

Donald Trump’s decision to nominate a reactionary ideologue like Brett Kavanaugh and shift the balance of the U.S. Supreme Court even further right represents a generational assault on justice, freedom, and our country’s core democratic values.

“If Brett Kavanaugh survives the confirmation process, he will rapidly advance a fringe right agenda on the court that will accelerate plutocratic control of our economy and politics, actively undermine the steps our country must take towards greater racial equity, and directly lead to the deaths of countless women with the dismantling of abortion rights.

CtH: “Fringe right” my Aunt Fanny!  Every abortion poll ever taken in this country has shown the “abortion on demand for any reason at any stage of gestation” to be a far left fringe position. The majority of Americans support limiting abortion on many counts … parental notification, waiting periods, hospital privileges, pain-capable, first trimester only, so-called “hard cases” only (rape, incest, life of mother), etc. I’m in the “never” group, since it was always permitted for the truly hard case where the choice is save the mother or lose them both.

SORE LOSERS=> All Five Democrats Invited to President Trump’s SCOTUS Reveal Send Regrets

His kids are really young. I hope they shield them from the hearings which will no doubt get nasty.

    From Catholic Vote:

Judge Brett Kavanaugh is Catholic. Born in Bethesda, Maryland, he went to Georgetown Prep school before attending Yale University, and then Yale Law. Kavanaugh worked for Independent Counsel Ken Starr during the investigation of President Bill Clinton. President George W. Bush nominated Kavanaugh for the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals in 2003, only to have Senate Democrats obstruct his confirmation for three years! After a series of negotiations, he was ultimately confirmed 57-35 in May 2006.

Legal scholars are already debating Kavanaugh’s record. You can expect to hear a lot of commentary in the coming days, including about Judge Kavanaugh’s dissent when the D.C. Circuit upheld the constitutionality of Obamacare. Throughout his tenure on the federal bench, Judge Kavanaugh has earned a reputation as a strong judicial “conservative” both fair and faithful to the Constitution.

But before Brett Kavanaugh served as a judge, he earned a reputation as a strong defender of religious freedom. During the 1990s, Kavanaugh chaired the Federalist Society’s Religious Liberty practice group and worked pro bono on cases involving religious freedom.
