Immigration: The FAKE NEWS Edition

The hypocritical anti-Trumpers’ non-stop shrieking about “Trump’s” immigration policy (which has been in place since Bush? Clinton?) are actually making me nostalgic for Stormy.

This photo of a crying child has gone viral.

TIME magazine cropped the kid out and used her image to slam President Trump.

There are just a few problems.

  • Border Patrol did not separate the kid from her mother, though maybe they should have. This oh-so-nurturing parent paid a coyote $6,000 to drag her and her baby girl 1,800 miles so mama could pursue the “American Dream.”
  • The mother left her husband and their three other children (ages 14, 11, and 6) behind without even giving them a chance to say good-bye, so spare me the “separating families” angst, lefties.
  • And while the woman has claimed political asylum, her husband says their life is fine. He is a captain at a port on the coast of Puerto Cortes and says they have not been threatened by anyone.

As for the illegals who actually are separated from their kids, because they, you know, broke the law… it seems Americans are far more in tune with this toon than are the left-wing talking heads.

2018_06 How to avoid being separated toon

Yesterday, Rasmussen released a poll of voter opinions on the family separation issue.

  • 54% of Likely U.S. Voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law.
  • 35% believe the federal government is more to blame for enforcing the law.
  • 11% are not sure.

Hey, Leftists! What do you suppose the governments of Central and South America do with illegals they catch inside their borders? Asking for a friend.

Wow. TEN THOUSAND of the 12,000 illegal children currently in government care were sent across our border ALONE. Border Patrol didn’t separate them from their families. ICE didn’t separate them from their families. THEIR FAMILIES SEPARATED THEM FROM THEIR FAMILIES. Golly, where’s all the MSM outrage over THIS horror? Hmm?

“Let’s be clear what’s going on here. The left and their media allies are whipping up hysteria. It’s based on hate, hatred for our President. It’s wrong and it’s dangerous. It’s a terrible thing for America.”

I look at that TIME cover and I don’t know how that is not a law suit

    If only…

These people did all this while Obama as President held illegal alien children in FEMA detention centers

Perhaps the system could have been fixed

My dd works at the border some times. She said the elites on both sides of the aisle don’t fix the problem because their donors benefit from the cheap labor. I’ve wondered if Trump, who is a canny fellow, didn’t up the ante on the child separation thing to force the issue into the public arena so both sides would have to do SOMETHING.

One of the duties that I perform at work is copy editing guest columns and feature stories. Each week I have to edit the religion and senior living columns. This week’s senior living column was a doozy. Essentially, it was supposed to be about siblings but then the writer veered off into crazy town. Trump bashing and pushing the lie of kids being put in cages. It made no sense, just a bunch of hysterical sentences thrown in haphazardly into what started out as a nice column. I left some of the rational sentences in, but took out the “white privilege” and kids in cages and big corporations making money from said kids in cages nonsense. My boss read over the whole column and agreed with my edits. (I should tell you all about some of the “religion” columns that I have read. Oh my goodness…)
