THE PATRON SAINT OF POLITICAL INCORRECTNESS: “People today have been taught to be offended, people live to be offended. That’s why they need a ‘safe space’ and a ‘cry closet,’ and what they mean by that seems to be a space where they can be safe from hearing the voice of reason and truth,” he said. “If you speak the truth, you might not be safe… So let’s be politically incorrect, like St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of political incorrectness.” -Bishop Robert Morlino, 2018 commencement speech at Thomas Aquinas College
BE A JOHN THE BAPTIST: Click on the link and follow the directions. It doesn’t take long.
This is what I wrote:
“I strongly support the statutory requirement that none of the funds appropriated for Title X may be used in programs where abortion is a method of family planning. I believe both science and the Bible agree that human life begins at conception. Civilized people do not kill people to solve their problems.
“Furthermore, I strongly support the requirement that groups, like Planned Parenthood, that want to provide abortions, must have separate facilities for this heinous practice. For too long, such groups have taken tax dollars and claimed they weren’t using them for abortion. Fancy bookkeeping doesn’t change the fact that using taxpayers’ money to pay for a facility where abortions are performed is the same thing as paying for abortion.
“Finally, I strongly support the final section of the rule that requires recipients of Title X dollars ensure that they follow all state and local laws requiring reporting of child abuse. Planned Parenthood has a well documented history of aiding and abetting the rape and incest of pregnant minors by relieving them of the evidence of their perpetrators’ crimes. It’s wrong. It’s evil. It must not be ignored.”
