ABUSE OF POWER: Barack Obama wasn’t just wiretapping and listening in on all of the Trump campaign and transition team calls. He also appears to have had a spy inside the Trump campaign!

ABUSE OF POWER: Obama’s victories relied heavily on executive abuses rather than legislation. This is why so much of his “legacy” deserves the rapid destruction Trump is inflicting on it.

STILL THINK IT’S ABOUT COLLUSION? According to a new report, special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating foreign donations to President Donald Trump’s inaugural committee. Funny how he hasn’t had the slightest interest in all those foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation.

WHITHER THE REPUBLICANS GO, THERE GOETH THE PAID RIOTERS: Several cities that had expressed interest in hosting the 2020 Republican National Convention have pulled out, citing the high security costs and disruptions in the normal flow of business and traffic caused by protesters. Charlotte, NC, says it is still interested.

WORD SMARTS: The Latin prefix com-, meaning “with, together, or jointly,” is a bit of a chameleon—it has a tricky habit of changing its appearance depending on what it’s next to. If the word it precedes begins with “l,” com- becomes col-. In the case of collaborate, com- teamed up with laborare (“to labor”) to form Late Latin collaborare (“to labor together”). Colleague, collect, and collide are a few more examples of the com- to col- transformation. Other descendants of laborare in English include elaborate, laboratory, and labor itself.

NOTE: This has gotten long enough, but I’m not done reading my news feeds. If I find anything else that’s worth a short mention, but not a whole blog post, I’ll put it into the comments below.

FIRST LADY Melania Trump unveiled her “Be Best” initiative at the White House this week. “The public awareness campaign encourages adults to teach children how to be good citizens. She said the campaign would also focus on the issues of opioid abuse.”

IGNORING THE ECONOMISTS: Leftists love to use the force of the government to tell employers — and, by logical association, consumers — to pay more to minimum wage workers. And then the workers they claim to want to help end up losing their jobs.

GOD BLESS THEM! When Kim naturally conceived quintuplets, she was pressured to selectively abort three of the babies. She refused. Now, she is the mother of one boy and four little girls, along with her other three children!

GOOD POINT: I saw this on FB — ” Any Dem that voted to confirm John O. Brennan as Obama’s CIA director, but refuse to confirm Gina Haspel for CIA director, are showing their obstructionism, Trump Derangement Syndrome, and partisan politics. Mr. Brennan was her boss. She followed his orders during her time of interrogating suspected terrorist. At that time, they were lawful orders.”

WRONG AGAIN: Hillary Clinton says that Trump pulling out of Iran deal makes America less safe, less trusted, and Iran more dangerous. North Korea says it will hold a ceremony for the dismantling of its nuclear test site on May 23-25 to set up Kim Jong Un’s summit with President Trump next month.

ANOTHER LOUD MOUTH THAT NEEDS TO SHUT THE HECK UP: Whoopi Goldberg challenged Trump to undergo waterboarding. Former CIA interrogator, Dr. James Mitchell, suggested the next time there’s a terror attack, Whoppi can go to an unsafe area of the world and investigate while he stays home. BTW, before participating in waterboarding of al Qaeda detainees, Mitchell volunteered to be waterboarded himself. Also, the CIA’s interrogations saved lives.
