As many of you know, I was out of touch with reality all during April, so am having to play a bit of catch up to understand what’s going on. If you’re up to date, feel free to skip this. 🙂
Stormy Daniels is a hooker who apparently had sex with Donald Trump at some time in the past. I’m not sure what that has to do with anything or anybody besides Melania and God, but liberals (who think we should all PAY FOR THEIR BIRTH CONTROL) have been acting all shocked and fainting-couchy about it.
Apparently, The Donald paid this woman big bucks to keep her trap shut. She routinely sells her body, so no shock there. She signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement, which is “a contract by which one or more parties agree not to disclose confidential information.”
“NDAs explicitly spell out that the person receiving the information is to keep it secret and limit its use. This means you can’t breach the agreement, encourage others to breach it, or allow others to access the confidential information through improper or unconventional methods.”
Daniels’ former lawyer told her to honor her agreement. Michael Avenatti is the Democrat operative and attorney who apparently talked her into violating it, assuring her there would be no consequences.
Uhhh … no.
“The non-breaching party is entitled to sue for damages [which] are usually measured in terms of the harm done to the non-breaching party. … An individual or entity that works with the breaching party to effect the breach may be liable for … punitive damages.”
Moving on …
Somebody leaked the bank records of Donald Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, to Avenatti, who has been given a bully pulpit, particularly by CNN, in which to try and smear Trump by association.
- Avenatti had no right to have Cohen’s bank records.
- The Treasury Department’s Inspector General is looking into how he got them.
Mark Penn at The Hill has noted that Stormy isn’t paying Avenatti.
So who is?
“[Avenatti] wants to make the discussion all about where Michael Cohen, President Trump’s personal attorney, got his money but, to have clean hands, Avenatti needs to come forward with exactly who is financing his operation, who his sources were for detailed banking information, and whether he really is an attorney solely representing Stormy Daniels or just using her as cover to wage a political operation.”
Penn suspects the Democrats and their lapdog media are trying to somehow turn the Stormy Daniels’ story into evidence that Trump colluded with Russia AND that it’s going to turn out to be as much of a nothingburger as the infamously faked dossier that was paid for by Clinton Democrats and leaked by John McCain.
- Rush Limbaugh has pointed out that the Cohen thing is obviously bogus, because Mueller knew about it all months ago. If there had been any there there, he’d have done something with it.
Or maybe, since there was clearly nothing actionable, what Mueller did do was tip off Avenatti about the Stormy-Trump liaison so he could use her to smear Trump. Just thinking out loud here.
Meanwhile, CNN has been hammering on the Stormy story non-stop, giving Avenatti all kinds of air time to flap his pie hole. But it looks like it’s costing them. Their ratings for May are down 20%.
Cry me a river.
