Another Piece of Obama’s Legacy Bites the Dust

Obama’s Death Panel got the thumbs down from America’s Death Panel.

2018_02 Death panels toon

In 2009, Sarah Palin was roundly ridiculed by mainstream media’s pundits for coining the term “Death Panels” to describe Obamacare’s Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB).

But what else would you call a panel of 15 president-appointed people who, with virtually no congressional oversight, were empowered to make major changes to Medicare in the name of keeping costs “under control”?

The IPAB provision was buried in the monstrosity known as Obamacare. It was so radioactively unpopular with the American people that no members were ever appointed to it and no meetings ever occurred. Yet it continued to exist on the books … until last week.

One of the provisions in the recently passed federal budget was the official elimination of the IPAB provision. Good riddance!

In Indian Country, there was no mad rush of settlers, no wild eyed invaders set to destroy all things good and stable. A few came in, explorers, traders, maybe settled in and married local. Then more. Then enough treaties had to be made with the Indians giving more and more and getting little in return. Then, the death knell, take-over. If they’re driven back, then they return in greater numbers pleading peace and love. Always, Nazis claim to be for the people and only want to help. Sometimes they’re sincer, even self-sacrificing, but it always leads to you being the next ‘good injun’. Freedom is costly. Unless you’re willing to seek out liberalism and show it for what it is, you’ll soon have death camps. The Confessing Church in Nazi Germany waited too long before protesting. Everything Hitler wanted for Germany we have in the US but a very few things. He took out the elderly and disabled before he went after the Jews and Christians. He outlawed Jews owning guns before he began the slaughter.
