There was a time, lo these many years ago, when late night comedians just told jokes and chatted with actresses, musicians, and assorted celebrities. I can remember all the way back to Jack Paar (google him if you’re not that old). Johnny Carson has been the standard most so-called hosts have been measured by. Jay Leno took his place and he dabbled in political waters, but not too heavily as I recall. Today people like Kimmel, Letterman, Fallon, and especially that hateful pig Stephen Colbert, have veered from being entertainers into social commentators. Kimmel has gone from whining about universal healthcare to accusing legal gun owners of being terrorists.

House Panel Approves $10 Billion to Fund Border Wall

The committee passed Wednesday afternoon in a party-line vote, after dismissing all Democratic amendments.
The committee vote is a significant step toward implementing President Trump’s goal of building a border wall, which otherwise has been stalled. Arpaio Pardon Finalized By Reluctant Federal Judge
A federal judge reluctantly upheld the presidential pardon of former Sheriff Joe Arpaio Wednesday, saying that Arpaio was “escaping punishment for willful violation” of a court order.
U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton said Wednesday that she had no choice but to vacate his sentence and dismiss the guilty verdict with prejudice, meaning it can never be brought against Arpaio again, The Arizona Republic reported. Bolton was the judge that convicted Arpaio of criminal contempt in July and had previously considered vacating Arpaio’s sentence while still keeping the conviction on his record.

When that flap-eared dog-eater usurped the Oval Office, I could never listen to him. The push-to-turn-off button on the car radio was hit so hard, the radio is now loose on the left side.
I have yet to encounter a Trump vocalization that came anywhere near causing that reaction. I often actually like and admire what he says. I think I nodded off on one of his taxes or economy talks, but only briefly. He says the right things, in the right ways, treats every person he meets in a convivial fashion, and seems honest.
After almost thirty years of not being able to listen to a President or think very highly of him, I wonder, is Trump really all that different… or I’m just losing it in my dotage.

I think he is different because he has a playful side and doesn’t mind showing it. Is that what we need right now? I don’t know the answer to that, but I agree with you, that I don’t automatically hit the power button when I hear him speak. But I sure used to do that when Obama spoke. I figured good old Pete and Chrissy would tell me what I needed to know!

What else should he have been doing? If President Trump is sending oodles of aid to Puerto Rico, but the media doesn’t report it, does that mean he’s still a terrible person? Stilton posted a LOOOONG list of all the stuff the Trump Administration has done to assist, while the media continues to call him names.

Iowa passed a law requiring that a woman be offered the chance to see an ultrasound of her unborn baby and receive information about her baby’s development, abortion risks and alternatives, plus wait 72 hours prior to going through with the abortion. Iowa Judge Jeffrey Farrell rejected Planned Parenthood’s argument that the law placed an “undue burden” on women’s access, so the law stands.
