The Swamp Claims Another Victim

It is appalling how the media takes such an intense interest in investigative journalism only when we have a republican president. Donald Trump has gone through a lot of advisers for a lot of reasons. Gen. McMaster and his son in law Jared Kushner are giving him terrible advice and Gen. Kelly is keeping a lot of important facts from him. All this is to the delight of a savage power that wants nothing more than to destroy him. If not him, then his surrogates. The latest is HHS secretary, Dr. Tom Price.

HHS Secretary Tom Price Resigns After Private Flights Scandal
Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price has resigned, according to the White House after a series of reports uncovered expensive private flights billed to taxpayers for travel.

HHS Secretary Price Resigns Over Travel; Did Obama Aides do the Same?
But let’s also stipulate a couple of things. With President Trump in office, the mainstream media seems to have regained an excitement for investigative journalism that it had lost during Barack Obama’s time in office. I’d like to see an investigation now of the travel habits of Obama cabinet members not involved in national security. I’d be willing to bet it would be revealing.

No One Embodied This Failure Of GOP Leadership Better Than Tom Price
Price’s main job for the White House was to get an Obamacare repeal passed through Congress — a job he failed miserably at. However, that failure is now likely going to be overshadowed by his extensive misuse of public money.
Instead of making the interests of citizens the priority, Republicans are left fighting for their policy in the framework created by their opposition.
The same thing happened with attempting to repeal Obamacare, the issue Andrea Mitchell was able to attack for the lack of diversity among its crafters. Democrats shrieked that millions of people were going to die thanks to evil white men while Republicans made obscure arguments about federalism.
There’s a reason Obamacare has survived repeal after multiple attempts by Trump and his allies in Congress.

Media Celebrate Tom Price’s Resignation As ‘Scalp’ For Politico
Reporters celebrated Price’s resignation as a “scalp” for Politico reporters Dan Diamond and Rachana Pradhan. The two reporters first revealed Price’s use of planes, which reportedly exceeded more than $1 million in taxpayer funds.
One Politico reporter joked that the outlet’s reporters were going to dump “a cooler of Gatorade” on Diamond and Pradhan.
Maggie Severns Retweeted Rachana D. Pradhan

.@rachanadixit and @ddiamond we are gathering a cooler of Gatorade to dump over you at your desks @ now

Flight furor: Obama officials also took pricey, non-commercial planes
Top figures during President Barack Obama’s tenure who used non-commercial planes for travel included then-attorney generals Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, then-FBI director Robert Mueller, and then-CIA director and defense secretary Leon Panetta.
Leon Panetta, who served as both CIA director and defense secretary during the Obama years, frequently used a government airplane to commute back and forth from Washington to California nearly every weekend at taxpayer expense.
The Washington Times reported then that each flight cost about $32,000 but Panetta only had to pay $630 per trip, because that was the cost of an equivalent round-trip commercial flight. It noted that the government required defense secretaries to use a military plane for travel, and Panetta had the approval of Obama to fly home every weekend.

Special counsel investigators start questioning White House staffers
Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team had been expected to start interviewing White House staffers, having already sought a wide variety of documents related to their probe of Russia’s attempted meddling in the 2016 election.
In a separate development, Fox News has learned that congressional investigators as well as federal agents are scrutinizing a Trump campaign national security meeting in March 2016 at Washington, D.C.’s Old Post Office, now the site of the Trump International Hotel.

O.J. Simpson not welcome in Florida, state AG says

“Floridians are well aware of Mr. Simpson’s background, his wanton disregard for the lives of others, and of his scofflaw attitude with respect to the heinous acts for which he has been found civilly liable,” Bondi wrote. “The specter of his residing in comfort in Florida should not be an option … Our state should not become a country club for this convicted criminal.”
Bondi’s letter came after Simpson’s attorney, Malcolm LaVerge, told reporters “there’s no question” that the former football star is “going to Florida.”

Illinois Republican Governor Breaks Promise, Signs Bill to Expand Taxpayer-Funded Abortions

Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and NARAL applauded Rauner’s decision to sign the bill. Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards tweeted that it’s “fantastic to be in Chicago as more people in Illinois gain access to the care they need.”

If he’s given up, he should’ve kept his promise and signed the bill. God’s gonna hold this over him some day.

Black Students Demand University Evict Students From Frat House And Turn It Over To Them

The demands come the same month that Cornell closed its Psi Upsilon frat indefinitely for an incident in which a student believed to be a member of the frat assaulted a black student and called him the n-word.

“We demand that the Chi Chapter of Psi Upsilon Fraternity, Inc. at Cornell University is permanently banned from campus, in addition to their letters being taken off of the fraternity house,” student group Black Students United said in its demands. “We also demand that all students involved in this heinous hate crime be expelled from this university immediately.”

Erdogan is now offering to release jailed US pastor Andrew Brunson to America, but for a PRICE!

Of course we want Brunson back but at what cost, an innocent man’s life? Even the Obama administration wouldn’t turn over Gulen because all of the so-called coup evidence given to them by Turkish officials was poppycock.

It was so predictable back in December of last year – six months after the phony coup – that Erdogan was only arresting Brunson for the sole reason of using him to get Gulen. Now that’s exactly what he’s doing and as much as I would love to see Brunson come home, I pray that Trump doesn’t do a deal like this, despite his good relationship with Erdogan.

Mistrial in art curator’s death after juror refused to ‘send a black man to jail’

A fellow juror said she overheard Juror No. 3 mutter, “I won’t send a black man to jail, that’s crazy,” as she left court after the first day of father-of-six Marlon Sewell’s trial in Brooklyn, which started on Sept. 11.

But Juror 8 didn’t say anything until Thursday — three weeks in and after three full days of deliberations that got so heated because of the biased juror’s obstinateness that she fainted in the jury room a day earlier — because she thought the middle-aged woman would ultimately change her stance and keep a fair and open mind.

Pack of teens pummel family after cutting line at Six Flags: cops

The harrowing ordeal unfolded after the rowdy teens cut in front of a 50-year-old woman standing in line with her husband, 51, and their 12-year-old son at the Gurnee amusement park on Saturday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The woman asked the group to stop using foul language before one of them “sucker-punched” her son, Gurnee Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith told the newspaper. The pack of teens then pummeled the family, dropping them on the floor.

NFL Kneeler Colin Kaepernick Donated $25,000 to Cop Killer Fund

Social justice warrior and political hero of the left, Colin Kaepernick donated $25,000 to a charity that honors convicted cop killer Assata Shakur.

Assata Shakur is now a fugitive hiding out in Cuba.
Kaepernick’s foundation made the donation to Chicago-based Assata’s Daughter’s, named after former Black Liberation Army member Assata Shakur, in April as part of a $1million charitable pledge.

She has been a fugitive from justice for nearly 40 years and openly thumbs her nose at her victim’s family while living in Cuba as a political asylee. In 1973, Chesimard shot and killed New Jersey state trooper Werner Foerster execution-style during a traffic stop. She is currently hiding from US authorities in Cuba.

In 47 of 50 Cities, Obamacare Coverage Will Be ‘Unaffordable’ in 2018 By Law’s Own Definition

On average, a family of three will have to earn a six figure salary for coverage to be affordable

“Government subsidies are available to people earning up to 400 percent of the federal poverty level, but middle-income households earning 401 percent or more of the federal poverty level are not eligible for subsidy assistance,” eHealth explains.
In addition, these families would need to incur an extra $28,939 before the plan became affordable. On average, a family of three would have to earn a six-figure salary—or $110,823.32—for coverage to be affordable.

Some cities have higher costs than others. For example, in Charlotte, N.C., a family of three would have to earn an extra $102,244.68 from what they are earning now or a total of $184,128.68 a year to afford an Obamacare plan.

Over 70 Obama Appointees are ‘Burrowed’ in Government Jobs

“appointed to career-level jobs to protect them from being ousted”
Have you suspected there are still people embedded in the government who worked for Obama and might not share President Trump’s vision for America? You were right. In fact, there are quite a few of them.

I can’t say that I am sorry to see Tom Price go. He should have known better than to fly around like some kind of tycoon on the taxpayer’s dime. But the main reason I am glad for him to go is that he failed on the Obamacare repeal, and he didn’t do any of the things that he was able to do without Congress. Remember that it is the HHS Sec. that determined the essential benefits. So a 30 year old single male has to buy maternity coverage and pediatric dental care, for example. I believe it was the HHS Sec. Sebelius who decided that nobody over the age of 30 could buy catastrophic insurance. Tom Price could have changed those things on his own and helped those of us struggling with Obamacare a lot. But he didn’t. Who is he beholden to? Because I don’t think he thought it was Trump.
