Third Good Jobs Report in Three Months

2017_04 10 March jobs report

Although this was the highest national jobs report in years, it was flat-out ignored by CBS Evening News, NBC Nightly News and ABC World News with David Muir.

News of no real import, just incoherent babbling. You know — the usual.
Consider it a counterbalance to the thoughtful, well-constructed posts CtH does.

Making a real splash! 20,000 lesbians come out to party in Palm Springs for an annual weekend of fun in the sun at the world’s biggest all-female festival

Rapper allegedly gorges on $600 seafood meal on Gold Coast then swims off to avoid paying

A WANNABE rapper who allegedly downed plates of expensive seafood before jumping into the ocean at Main Beach has said he ‘wouldn’t go back’ to the restaurant because the lobster was ‘overpriced’.

Terry Peck, 33, was today granted bail after he allegedly chowed down on two lobsters, a baby octopus, 21 oyster shots and drank a number of Coronas at Omeros Bros Seafood Restaurant at Main Beach on Sunday evening to the tune of $620 before fleeing the restaurant.

You’ve got to be kidding! Foodies recommend swapping lamb for roast GOAT this Easter, saying the newly fashionable meat is tastier and healthier
Goat farmers say they have seen a 30-fold increase in demand for the meat
Animal is roasted in a similar way to lamb, but enthusiasts say it is tastier
But at £25 per kilogram, it is more expensive than top-of-the-range lamb

Some people enjoy leg of lamb for Easter. For us, it’s spiral sliced, honey-maple ham with gooey glaze, taters, DW’s corn casserole, and rolls. I think dessert this year is going to be jello cake.

LaVar Ball: ‘Slow white guys’ kept UCLA from winning title, Lonzo played hurt in loss

Have you heard of this clown? He has a son that played a year for UCLA. He’ll likely be drafted by somebody in the NBA. He has two brothers in high school and a real piece of work named Lavar for a dad (along with the required white woman, of course). His dad played a year or two of basketball and now deems himself to be the patriarch of a budding dynasty. He’s pitching a deal with Nike shoes for all 3 of his kids to the tune of $1 BILLION dollars. You read that right. He plans to act as his kids’ agent to negotiate his contract. He insisted on sitting on the bench for every game and making a blue ribbon ass of himself.

Connecticut HS Allows Boy To Run On Female Track Team: ‘I Do Hope I Inspire People’

Coaches at Cromwell High School are thrilled with freshman Andraya Yearwood, whose speed compared to biological girls makes the student a star.

Andraya clocked times of 11.99 seconds and 26.34 seconds in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, respectively, during the first meet of the season. Both times resulted in a first-place win.

“I have a spectacular female athlete,” coach Brian Calhoun told the Hartford Courant. “There’s nothing more to say. To approach it in any other way might create some sort of issue or conversation.”

IMAGINE… A “FEMALE” ATHLETE WITH A 5 O’CLOCK SHADOW.

Researcher: Teachers Should Allow Ebonics Because English Grammar Is Too Hard For Minorities To Learn

MRS. CLEAVER: ‘ I SPEAK JIVE’
To avoid any hurt feelings some people may feel by attempting to speak standard, correct English, Gallagher wants to eradicate the stigma associated with Ebonics — or African–American Vernacular English, a nonstandard dialect of English spoken by some black people.

“I want to center the voices of the people who need to be centered,” Gallagher, a participant in the UW-Madison writing fellows program, told The Daily Cardinal. “As a white-passing person, I have a lot of power and privilege that should be shared.”

Taxifornia Committing Suicide

Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. California has a certifiably insane governor and hordes of clueless nitwits infected by the scourge of liberalism. As Jesus said, “Father, forgive them. They know not what they do.”
They know what they do, they just don’t realize the consequences for their actions… or don’t care. It is unfortunate that the rational people of the state are compelled to suffer along with the young and the feckless.

Taxifornia Does It Again

Taxation: California’s far-left government has done it again. Not realizing its real problems are excessive spending on misplaced priorities, excessive taxes, too much debt and a far-too generous welfare state, its legislature working in cahoots with Gov. Jerry “tax-and-spend” Brown has pushed through the largest tax hike in state history.

In California’s one-party state — everything in the state, everything, is controlled by the Democratic Party and its union allies — the governor and legislature rushed through a massive tax hike on gas and diesel fuel along with higher car registration fees with hardly anyone realizing it.

The state’s already highest-in-the-nation gasoline tax will rise 19.5 cents a gallon, while diesel will go up 20 cents. Meanwhile, car owners will also see their registration fees rise from $25 to $175, depending on vehicle value. Electric car owners get hit with a special $100 tax, since they don’t use gasoline.

All told, the new taxes are expected to collect $5.2 billion a year.

Nearly $1 billion in side deals cemented legislative vote to raise California’s gas tax
“Democrats just gave us the largest gas tax increase in state history — a deal so bad they needed $1 billion in pork to buy the votes to pass it,” said Assembly Republican leader Chad Mayes of Yucca Valley. “California deserves better.”
Similar proposals have languished for years, but Brown and legislative leaders set a quick-turn April 6 deadline for action, hoping to pressure a compromise before the Legislature’s spring break — ahead of big debates to come in 2017 on the state budget and hundreds of bills.

Republican Backed Jerry Brown’s Gas Tax for $400 Million Pork Project

One of the more prominent deals was the one that secured the vote of State Sen. Anthony Canella (R-Ceres), who was the only Republican in either chamber to support the measure, which includes raised fees at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

That side deal turns out to have been the costliest of all, amounting to $400 million in pork for “the extension of the Altamont Corridor Express, a commuter rail line between the Bay Area and Central Valley.”

Canella’s vote was crucial, because moderate State Sen. Steve Glazer (D-Orinda) opposed the gas tax, explaining in a statement published by the East Bay Times that it was unnecessary to raise taxes rather than re-directing spending from the costly high-speed rail project.
There are no moderates in California…they just all come with different price tags

California’s Super-Bloom Endangered by Special Snowflakes

The significant winter rains that California has experienced this year has led Governor Jerry Brown to declare the official drought officially over:

Startlingly green hills, surging rivers and the snow-wrapped Sierra Nevada had already signaled what Gov. Jerry Brown made official Friday: The long California drought is over.

However, the state’s nature lovers are failing to follow some common sense rules related to enjoying the beauty and are trampling over the delicate flowers they have flocked to admire.

One of the most spectacular areas is the Wildflower Trail at Diamond Valley Lake, which is a reservoir outside Hemet. A portion of the trail was shut down March 29 and was reopened Wednesday, just five days a week. Extra staff has been added to the area to police visitors, and new signs warn people to stay on the trails.

“It happened sort of suddenly, people started disregarding the rules and trail guides,” Picht told the Los Angeles Times. “You can’t really blame them, but at the same time, we couldn’t allow that.”

In other words, these special snowflakes are killing the flowers.

Gorsuch Will Make a Difference

Gorsuch will provide the Supreme Court with the crucial fifth vote needed to sustain the Constitution as written and to protect fundamental rights like religious freedom, free speech, and the right to bear arms.

SCOTUS and Constitution

The new Supreme Court justice will arrive in time to hear the April 19 oral arguments in Trinity Lutheran Church v. Pauley, which is a case of stark, blatant religious discrimination by the government.

Gorsuch will also influence which pending petitions SCOTUS will accept for appeal.

Among those pending is Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, an important case about an individual’s right to refuse to perform a service that violates his or her religious beliefs.

Two other important petitions — Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute and North Carolina v. North Carolina NAACP — involve voter ID and election integrity.

Neil Gorsuch should also provide the fifth vote needed to quash the judicial activism present in the injunctions against Trump’s travel ban orders.  The Constitution clearly gives POTUS the authority as commander-in-chief to protect the nation, something Obama did without any liberals freaking out about it.

Stilton rails at Hillary better than I ever could

2017_04 10 Stilton on Hillary

While today’s cartoon might appear to be a clear example of blatant misogyny, it is actually “meta” misogyny which celebrates and empowers women by ironically mocking those who would mischaracterize misogyny for their own political benefit. Like this bitch, for instance.

Again, “meta” misogyny in the service of humor! Jon Swift (the author of the seminal work on politics, “Gullible’s Travails”) would totally be high-fiving us about now.

The (ahem) “news” story, if you were lucky enough to have missed it, is that Hillary Clinton has returned from 40 years of God-ordained wandering in the wilderness, fasting and having religious visions, to face the cold hard facts about her election loss. And according to Hillary, those facts are that the Russians magically hacked the election, FBI Director James Comey was a suicide bomber, and everybody in America – including women – hates women. [http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/04/07/hillary-clinton-blames-comey-wikileaks-and-misogyny-for-2016-loss.html]

“Certainly misogyny played a role,” the bitter, garishly-dressed, stringy-haired old woman whined, “That just has to be admitted.”

Well, no, it doesn’t have to be admitted. [CtH: This is EXACTLY what I thought when I read her whining!]  There are female leaders all over the world, and countless women in positions of authority – including governmental authority – here in the United States. So it seems likely that Hillary’s unpopularity isn’t so much linked to her gender as it is tied to her long history of being a horrible human being, serial liar, inept politician, rape enabler, and thief.

All of which might become clear to Hillary if, instead of looking for answers in a “glass ceiling,” she looked for them in a mirror.

Gaining Insight Into Today’s Political and Cultural Scene

I’ve been reading How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization.  It’s a fascinating book that makes a very compelling argument for why Catholic-Christianity is responsible for the moral, ethical, and legal basis for Western civilization.

When the author compares some element of Western civilization with the way the pagan world operated in Christ’s time, I am often struck by how similar the pagan world was to the way the Left wants our world to become.

I recommend this book, even if you’re no fan of Catholicism.  All of Christianity was Catholic until 1517, by which time Western civilization was well established.

Even where they reject certain Catholic doctrines, most Protestants take Catholic values for granted.  This is very evident in the Constitution, which was written by Protestants and which the Left wants to radically alter.

This book can give you a good insight into the political and cultural battles we face today and make it even more clear that it’s not so much a political and cultural battle as it is a spiritual one.
