The Left Scores Again

Two days ago: Nunes: ‘I will NOT recuse myself.’
Rep. Devin Nunes Steps Aside From Russia Probe
It’s what the left does, yell and scream that impropriety when they are the ones being improper.

After a number of ethics complaints, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., announced today that he will step aside from leading the House Intelligence Committee’s probe into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

“Several left-wing activist groups have filed accusations against me with the Office of Congressional Ethics. The charges are entirely false and politically motivated, and are being leveled just as the American people are beginning to learn the truth about the improper unmasking of the identities of U.S. citizens and other abuses of power,” Nunes said in a statement released this morning.

“Despite the baselessness of the charges, I believe it is in the best interests of the House Intelligence Committee and the Congress for me to have Representative Mike Conaway, with assistance from Representatives Trey Gowdy and Tom Rooney, temporarily take charge of the Committee’s Russia investigation while the House Ethics Committee looks into this matter,” he said.

FROM THE COMMENT SECTION:
Devin
We hate Devin
And we’ll shout him down so that he cannot speak
But please don’t think it’s in any way unique
When we stampede media from leak to leak
Devin
We hate Devin
Must remove him ere he finds that which he seeks
So we’ll drown him out with all our outraged shrieks
And stampede the media from leak to leak
(JUST A LITTLE CLASS ON A THURSDAY)

Rep. Schiff: The accusation against Susan Rice by the Breitbart crowd and by people in this building that I think are tossing around slanderous accusations without evidence.

FROM BREITBART: MEDIA CLAIMS SCALP

Malibu Hit With Prank Signs Making Fun Of Its Sanctuary City Status

After officials of the wealthy oceanside enclave home to many of Hollywood’s elite actors and power brokers had the sign removed, the prankster replaced it with another welcome sign for visitors Wednesday. This one also had “Official Sanctuary City” in bold letters across the top of the sign, and in italics underneath: “Because Our Beach Community Needs Cheap Labor. Dude.”

Both were posted below the city limit sign along a road leading into Malibu.

Pepsi Uses Controversial Ad to Gin Up Media Outrage
Then pulls ad after “unexpected” backlash

In the ad, Jenner, who plays a model, stops mid-photo shoot to join a bunch of protesters gallivanting around police officers. She decided to make peace by offering a Pepsi to one of the cops, who accepts it after a few seconds.

Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding.

“Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologize,” a Pepsi spokesman said. “We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further roll-out. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.”

“Made light of the Black Lives Matter Program”

The entire movement’s intellectual/philosophical value is somewhere around warm helium on a sunny day. I am so tired of this day to day crap.

Pepsi and the critics still don’t “get it”. The problem isn’t the attempt to cash in on a bit of trendy politics; the problem is that Pepsi backed the wrong horse. Anyone who wants to sell gobs of stuff to the kind of Americans who are actually going to pay for it—rather than loot it—shouldn’t align himself with any group which glorifies shooting ambushes.

Will Late-Night TV Go Off the Air in May? Writers Guild Threatens to Pull Plug
WGA promises May 2 strike and halt to “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Saturday Night Live,” and more

WITHOUT PEOPLE TO WRITE JOKES FOR THEM THESE TALENTLESS HACKS WOULD BE AS USELESS AS TITS ON A BOAR HOG
“In the event that we are unable to negotiate a new contract with the AMPTP, a work stoppage will begin May 2,” the guild said in the letter. “Should this occur, writing for television, feature films and digital series will cease.”

It went on: “Late night shows including ‘Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ ‘The Daily Show,’ ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ ‘Saturday Night Live,’ ‘Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ and others will go off the air.”

Yes, you read that correctly: off the air.

BREAKING: Democrats Block Gorsuch, Setting Up Nuclear Response

Democrats successfully blocked Judge Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court from advancing in the U.S. Senate on Thursday, sparking what is expected to be a bitter clash with Republicans over how the chamber confirms high court nominees.

Gorsuch failed to earn the 60 votes needed to end debate on his nomination. In response, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has vowed he will change Senate rules in order to confirm Gorsuch and all future Supreme Court nominees with a simple majority vote.

A final confirmation vote on Gorsuch is not scheduled until Friday, when 52 Republicans and at least three Democrats — from states won by Trump in last year’s election — are expected to vote to have him replace the late Antonin Scalia on the high court.

But the next 24 hours could be among the most bitter in recent Senate history.

“This will be the first and last partisan filibuster of a Supreme Court nomination,” McConnell (R-Ky.) vowed Thursday morning.
