How Fragile Life Is

They say death is the final stage of living. Sometimes a terrible illness like cancer will drain the life from someone a little every day until there is nothing left. I watched my stepdad go from a healthy 180# to about 60# when the Lord finally released him from his pain. I have an 8-year-old grandson who has waged a battle with this killer for 2 years and is holding his own. Other times it comes in the blink of an eye. In the duration of a moment it can end.

In the last week not one but two personalities from Fox News have passed away. First was Bulls and Bears host Brenda Buttner.

Fox News Host Brenda Buttner Dies at 55

Before joining Fox in 2000, Buttner hosted CNBC’s “The Money Club” and served as a Washington correspondent for the cabler in the early ’90s.  A graduate of Harvard, Buttner began her TV career at NBC affiliate KCRL in Reno, NV. She is survived by her two daughters.

Today came word that Alan Colmes, who was the foil to Sean Hannity for years, has passed away.

Fox News’ Alan Colmes Dies at 66 After ‘Brief Illness’
“Alan Colmes passed away this morning after a brief illness. He was 66 years old. He leaves his adoring and devoted wife, Jocelyn Elise Crowley. He was a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral. He was fiercely loyal, and the only thing he loved more than his work was his life with Jocelyn. He will be missed. The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.”

The segment then aired a tribute package from Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity, Colmes’ former co-host on Hannity & Colmes, a nightly political debate show that ran on the Fox News Channel from 1996 to 2009.

My grandmother, the wizened old matriarch of the family, always said

  • “One day you ain’t gonna wake up. Then it’s too late to worry, so stay right with God.”
  • “All the money in the world won’t buy you another second when the time comes.”
  • “I ain’t never seen a Brinks truck in a funeral procession. You ain’t takin’ nothin’ with you.”

There are many times I’d give all I own just to talk to her again for an hour. She always seemed to know what to say in times of crisis.

Dem Senator: “Granny” will be “dragged out of her apartment” under Trump immigration policy

Poor granny! In 2012, Dems portrayed Paul Ryan pushing her over a cliff.

The Dems have now hauled granny back up, but only for purposes of having her dragged out of her apartment by ICE agents enforcing President Trump’s new deportation guidelines.

Interviewed by Chris Cuomo on CNN this morning, Dem Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island twice invoked the image, once speaking of “grandma” worrying “that somebody’s going to come up the stairs and pull her out of her apartment.” Later, Whitehouse fretted that the relationship of law enforcement with communities could be harmed because “somebody’s granny got dragged out of her apartment.”

AZ Sheriff Releasing 400 Criminal Aliens EVERY 10 DAYS

Well, I hope Maricopa County in Arizona is proud of themselves… electing a liberal sheriff to replace Joe Arpaio is sheer insanity. Now, instead of arresting illegal aliens, he treats them like ‘guests’. He’s now releasing 400 criminal illegal aliens every ten days in direct defiance of federal law. Hopefully, that will get funding cut off to that county per President Trump

George Will: Conservatives Will Turn on Trump By Mid-Summer

Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” Washington Post columnist George Will discussed his departure from the Republican Party and the decision by Fox News not to renew his contract as a network contributor.

Will suggested some of it was attributable to his refusal to support event President Donald Trump while he was a candidate. But later in that segment, he predicted some Republicans would change their opinions on Trump once he starts putting his policies forward.

I’m more inclined to believe Rush who said that NOBODY can turn Trump’s base against him but Trump himself. And since he is busy busy busy doing everything he promised he’d do AND creaming the media at their own game … I don’t see that happening any time soon.

WaPo introduces new emo slogan: “Democracy Dies in Darkness”

New Morrissey album “Democracy Dies in Darkness” out now, featuring the hit single “More Will Ignore Me the Louder I Get.”

As David Frum likes to say, with Trump there are many secrets (e.g., the tax returns) but really no mysteries. The public chose him anyway, and if he ever really does threaten democratic institutions in a serious way, he’ll do it with some not insignificant amount of popular support. If democracy dies, and it almost certainly won’t, it’ll do so in broad daylight, with the acquiescence or encouragement of many. That is to say, while the slogan gets the media zeitgeist right, it gets the political zeitgeist all wrong. Exit quotation from streiff: “Woodward doesn’t mention that democracies also die when their press becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of one of the political parties.”

The thing WaPo doesn’t say is that they want democracy to die and have been using their bully pulpit for years to keep Americans in the dark.

Tom Cotton Gives Good Response To Woman Who Says She’s Not ‘Paid Protester’

CNN doesn’t know the difference between Kansans and Arkansans. But classy response by Tom Cotton, although I wouldn’t bet that they all are in truth Arkansans.
Yes, she may not be paid directly. But if she’s working/there at the behest of OFA or a Soros-funded group, yes, those organizing groups are paid to get you out there. So yes, it is a funded protest and the organizers are being paid to get you there.

Pregnant Mother of Three Supports GOP Replacement Plan After ‘Absolute Nightmare’ Experience With Obamacare

Elizabeth Jacinto, a pregnant mother of three, shared her story Wednesday about how she was arbitrarily kicked off her health care plan because of Obamacare, describing how it affected her small children and pregnancy and why she is now supporting the Republican plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
Jacinto explained that she was kicked off of her plan without any reason, leaving her children, husband, and herself without access to health care coverage.

Keith Ellison Floats Impeaching Donald Trump During DNC Debate

Ellison, who is locked in a competitive but largely amicable race with former Secretary of Labor Tom Perez for the reigns of the party, carved out the most aggressive anti-Trump posture during a debate among eight contenders Wednesday night broadcast on CNN.

“Donald Trump has already done a number of things which legitimately raise the question of impeachment,” Ellison said.

Keith Ellison Once Said Black People Don’t Have ‘Obligation’ To Obey Government

Democratic congressman and DNC chair front-runner Keith Ellison once said that “black people don’t live in a democracy” and “don’t have an obligation” to obey the government.

Ellison made the comments at a 1992 protest after white police officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King. At least 63 people died in the racially charged riots following the verdict.
“You don’t have an obligation to obey a government that considers you to be less than human,” Ellison said.

Chris Matthews Calls Trump Supporters ‘Dogs’

Former talk show host Montel Williams criticized Trump for not responding strongly enough to anti-Semitic attacks in the U.S., adding that “25 percent” of Trump’s supporters agreed with his “nasty rhetoric.”

“So the dog whistle was heard by the dogs,” Matthews said, in an apparent reference to Trump’s aforementioned supporters.

“Yeah, and the campaign is all about protecting America,” Williams said.

Williams said that there was a part of Trump’s base that wanted the president “to be more anti-everybody,” and suggested that blacks would be the next target of hatred in the United States with Trump as president.

“One, we start with Muslims. Now, we’re with Jews. Tomorrow it’s blacks,” Williams said.

Oscar Voter: Meryl Streep ‘a Clown,’ Only Got Nominated for Giving Anti-Trump Speech

One “brutally honest” Oscar voter says 20-time nominee Meryl Streep played her role in this year’s Florence Foster Jenkins “like a clown” — and believes the actress was only awarded a nomination in return for delivering her infamous anti-Donald Trump speech at last month’s Golden Globes.

“I thought Meryl [Streep in Florence Foster Jenkins] played it like a clown — she’s cute and adorable, but this woman didn’t matter to me in the end — but people are gaga over Meryl, and I think she solidified her nomination when she gave that speech at the Golden Globes,” the anonymous Oscar voter told the Hollywood Reporter.

ANTI-SEMITISM // A suburban St. Louis Jewish cemetery badly damaged by vandals is getting a show of support from cleanup volunteers, well-wishers and financial contributors from across many faiths. Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, who is Jewish, organized a volunteer effort. Vice President Mike Pence visited the site and helped clean up the cemetery.

Wow … sooo much hostility was directed at a pro-life woman at the Women’s March.

    • chrissythehyphenated

Just caught this from SCOTUS Justice Ginsburg.

Reportedly, she praised the recent women’s marches, which included many anti-Trump protesters, and said she had never seen a demonstration of any comparison in terms of the size of the crowds and “rapport” of the people attending.

Methinks she’s NEVER bothered to stick her nose out for the March for LIfe, like for example the one that was shortly after the Women’s March and was bigger and NICER too.
