It’s Groundhog Day

Not that I care what Phil said or did.  I just wanted to post a link and noticed Pete hasn’t done anything yet today.  I mean, he’s probably quite busy doing real life stuff!  LOL  But we need a daily spot to share the stuff that is (or maybe isn’t) interesting, but not worth a whole blog by itself.

FAKE NEWS: NBC and ABC both ignored the facts so they could report their anti-Trump version of the news.

In 2002, 73 Democrats voted to ban visas from Islamic countries, including legislators who are still “serving” (or refusing to serve, in the case of some). Familiar names include Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, James Clyburn, former Vice President Biden, former Secretary of State Clinton, former Secretary of State Kerry, and former Majority Leader Reid.

“In the area of competence, Trump is having a better first 10 days than Bill Clinton, who completely blew the Haitian refugee crisis in the opening of his presidency; and much better than Barack Obama, who muffed the BP oil spill big time, during his. Clinton went on to become a lousy husband but a pretty good Chief Executive. Obama went on to cripple our economy, allow countless domestic terror attacks to occur, and blow up the Middle East. …

“Overall, though, Trump is off to a spectacular start — and I say that as an objective measure. While his opposition party in the media is in full-propaganda mode to fabricate an alternate reality that says otherwise, the facts just don’t bear that out.”

Obama did not ‘muff’ the BP oil spill. It was a deliberate and calculated move. All he had to do was allow the Gulf Coast governors permission to construct berms and other measures to retard the advance of the slick. He refused to grant a waiver of the Wilson act to allow foreign vessels, specifically equipped to ensnare the oil and vaccuum it up.(Bush did it after Katrina to help with the cleanup)He waited until it made landfall and destroyed thousands of small businesses and tens of thousands of peoples’ livelihoods just so he could declare a moratorium on all oil exploration in the Gulf.He didn’t give a rats ass about the people he hurt.

“After Senate Democrats began a boycott of the committee yesterday, chair Orrin Hatch executed a rule change and conducted the vote for both Steve Mnuchin and Tom Price, resulting in unanimous endorsements for confirmation. …

“What makes [the Democrat boycott] exceptionally foolish is [that] Orrin Hatch [is] one only two Republicans publicly arguing to allow Senate Democrats to keep the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees (Susan Collins is the other).

“Hatch may not change his mind easily on this point, but Democrats had better believe that they just taught him a lesson about the level of comity he can expect from the next two years or more.”

One more way that Trump is Nor Like The Other Presidents. Usually, Americans give the new guy a honeymoon period, during which approvals are higher than the votes he got.

Then, as people get annoyed with stuff he actually does, it drops. Or, if he hits it out of the park, as W did after 9/11, he’ll enjoy a bump up for a while.

Trump started out low, but is going up.

On 9/11, Bernie Kerik was New York Police Department Commissioner. He said he spent many days at Ground Zero after the attack along side then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) and Schumer, a New York senator. He said he never saw Schumer show the kind of emotion he did at the recent presser. If 9/11 didn’t make him cry, why would this little thing getting him all weepy?
