I remember what a stir this highly suggestive song created when it was released in 1976. It’s also the best I could come up with for a title on this sunny, cold Saturday afternoon.
The group began as ‘Fat City’, a husband/wife duo of Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert. The band was also composed of Jon Carroll (keyboards and vocals) and Margot Chapman (vocals). Carroll and Chapman were also married after meeting as members of the group, but later divorced.
Federal Worker Union Is Blocking Republican VA Reforms
President-elect Donald Trump promised to fire incompetent and dishonest Department of Veterans Affairs employees, but he will have to fight the American Federation of Government Employees—the largest federal worker union—every step of the way.
Liberals Awake from 8-Year Moral Coma
For eight years, the voices of what passes for morality on the left were utterly silent as the values of generations of Americans were flushed down the drain. Those Americans whose desires, experiences and values differed from the leftist elite were treated as worthless garbage, no longer necessary to the imminent liberal utopia, except as a source of revenue.
Rep. Duncan Hunter removes painting depicting police as pigs
Rep. Duncan Hunter removed a controversial painting from a hallway which connects to the U.S. Capitol Friday.
Rep. Lacy Clay, who represents Ferguson, Missouri, sponsored the annual art competition that resulted in this painting winning first place, though he says he did not have anything to do with selecting it. Earlier this week Clay told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “Yes, some people find it offensive. I don’t find it offensive. I find it to be an expression of what one of my constituents is feeling about what he has experienced.”
Watch a Bunch of Democrats Try to Steal Our Democracy
Congress officially certified Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States on Friday afternoon over the objections of Democrats.
A handful of congressional Democrats objected as electoral votes for Trump were counted, but they were unable to hold up the certification process because they did not have the support of any Senate Democrats.
Vice President Joe Biden presided and was forced to gavel the House into order numerous times as Democrats spoke over him with their objections.
At one point, Biden informed the Democrats that “It’s over,” causing House Republicans to erupt in laughter.
“We had one goal in mind: we wanted to make higher education cool,” Obama said. “We wanted to change the conversation around what it means and what it takes to get into college.
Everyone knows it’s true. If white people did this, there would be riots.
Don’t act like it’s not a fact.
At least 20 stores would’ve been looted within hours of the story breaking.
Mainstream media would be all over it.
But since it’s the other way around, you’ll probably see mainstream media try to sweep it under the rug like it was some teens doing a prank.
Conway to Cuomo: ‘Don’t Say That Again’ About Trump Sheltering Russia
The most volatile moment during the segment came when Cuomo accused Trump of “sheltering Russia,” and Conway slammed back: “He’s not sheltering Russia, and don’t you say that again.”
Conway charged that this activity is “just nonsense. The idea that Team Clinton is still running around doing it, people are doing it, your network is doing it constantly, and that’s what we need to push back on.”
“We’re against any foreign government interfering in our cybersecurity,” she added, which “is woefully underserved because big problems have not been tackled sufficiently in the last eight years.”
IF IT WERE NOT FOR HIS LAST NAME HE’D BE CHANGING TIRES AT WALMART
Obama set for pardon frenzy as he leaves officeA Rastafarian prophet, a former Taliban captive and thousands of minor drug traffickers have one thing in common: Their names have been submitted to President Barack Obama for clemency before he leaves office in two weeks.
Among them is Bowe Bergdahl, a US Army sergeant held captive for five years by the Taliban before his release in a prisoner swap, who is due to be court-martialed for desertion.
Leonard Peltier, a Native American activist convicted for the 1975 deaths of two FBI agents in what his supporters say was a setup, is also hoping to enjoy Obama’s good graces.
Then there’s Edward Snowden, who made the shattering revelation in 2013 of a global communications and internet surveillance system set up by the United States.
Palestinians Reject John Kerry’s Two-State SolutionTHERE IS NO NEGOTIATION WHEN THE STARTING POINT IS YOUR DEATH
Kerry’s plan was criticized by Israelis for focusing on settlements and giving away Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem. This week, a senior Palestinian figure rejected it for a more fundamental reason: Palestinians refuse to accept a Jewish state.
Governor Scott: “I have reached out to President-elect Trump. I have spoken to him and Vice President-elect Pence multiple times to keep them informed. And they told me any resources they need from the federal government they would do everything in their power to make that happen.”
He bypassed Obama.
Keegan-Michael Key reprised his role as President Obama’s “anger translator,” Luther, for one final goodbye on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show Thursday night as the real Obama prepares to leave office in two weeks.
