The NRA has done more than politicians have ever done to reduce gun violence.
The Truth About Background Checks < WORTH WATCHING!
I saw this on Facebook:
This needs to be said again.
Is anyone else bothered by the fact that our President rarely knows what’s going on in his own administration? Responding to a heroic Philadelphia cop being shot by an ISIS sympathizer the White House acted as if they hadn’t heard the story and said they have “no comment.” “NO COMMENT”? Are you kidding me? Turn a darn news channel on your embarrassment of a leader and learn about it like you learned about your many scandals.
Here’s a list of the scandals occurring under this President which the POTUS claims he learned about from the media:
-The Hillary Clinton email scandal
-The Fast & Furious gun running scandal
-The NSA spying on foreign leaders scandal
-The Petraeus scandal
-The IRS targeting of conservative groups
-The Department of Justice’s wiretapping of reporters at The Associated Press
-The Department of Justice’s wiretapping of Fox News’ James Rosen
-The VA healthcare “waiting list” scandal
Isn’t the President’s feigned ignorance of what’s going on under his nose, and on his watch, the biggest scandal of them all? How does the President of the United States not know that the government he presides over as its Chief Executive is failing in its most basic duties? How does the President of the United States have “no comment” when a cop with more bravery in his thumbnail than the POTUS has in his entire soul is nearly murdered in a major American city by a terrorist? Disgusting.

If you took all 7.3 billion people on the planet and lined them up according to material wealth, you would find the following representative of the global middle class:
- A family of four living in two rooms totaling about 200 square feet.
- Plumbing (a sink, toilet, and bathing room) is out back and shared with the family next door.
- They eat enough, although not extravagantly, and can afford some medical care, if they are frugal.
- They probably have a few luxuries like a TV, a fridge, a gas cook top, and/or cell phones.
- They need to work very hard to maintain what they have; if they fall behind they don’t have a big cushion.
Two to three billion people on the planet would consider any of the above to be a magnificent improvement over their current circumstances.
Back in the early 80s, my brother taught at Beijing University for a year. The government quartered him, his wife, and their 5-year-old in an apartment building for foreigners. Their apartment was similar to the one I had in college, with a living/dining area, plus one small bedroom, a small kitchen, and a bathroom.
One time and one time only*, a man my brother became close to at work came over for a visit. When he entered their apartment, his mouth dropped open and he stammered, “This is like where the Party leaders live!”
He and his wife and their one permitted child* were assigned a single room in which to live. They shared a bathroom, sink, and small stove with the other families on their floor. This man was a professor at the university.
My brother was a professor here at home. He and his wife owned their home, which had 3 bedrooms, 2-1/2 baths, a large living room, a separate dining room, a spacious eat-in kitchen, a 2-car garage, and about 1/3 acre of yard and garden all around.
*He asked not to be invited again, because fraternizing with a foreigner would put him and his loved ones at risk with the government.
**One of the people living on the floor was responsible for keeping track of the women’s menstrual cycles and reporting on any mother who was late. The government then sent someone to take her down to a clinic for an abortion.
- Personal stories told to me by my brother.
I saw this on Facebook via Cold Dead Hands:
I’m not trying to say that Obama and the rest of the gun-control crowd are hypocrites who pick and choose at what death’s bother them and which don’t, I….oh, wait, yes, I am saying that.
If you’re wondering why I’m harping on alcohol, it’s not as a teetotaling temperance adherent, it’s because it’s so easy to call out the lies and inconsistencies we see from the President using this as an example.
When we INSTANTLY see him resorting to “we need gun control” speeches before we know any of the relevant details after a killing, and when the facts (background check passed, gun-control zone in place) show that none of their “reasonable” and “common sense” gun laws mean anything, I want to compare it to something like this.
With so many dying from this particular cause like impaired driving each night, he could just as easily stand up and say the things he does about guns. But he doesn’t, does he? He apparently only cares about people who die from an instrument that he can stigmatize in a manner that will take away the rights of his political opponents. Cherry pick much?
If he didn’t, he’d be saying, “If we can save just one life by restricting how alcohol is sold, it’s worth it!” “No one needs 100 proof liquor!” “We see this too often.” “We need to do something.”
A commenter remarked, “Drunks make good Democrat voters; armed citizens do not.” Uhhhh …. yeah!
GALLUP: American liberals are more likely to drink than American conservatives.
