Normally this isn’t posted until after I’ve had my morning nap and scanned a bunch of rescources to find some interesting tidbits for you. I stopped after I finished delivering papers this morning at the local Steak and Shake, which is the only restaurant around us besides McD’s that’s open at 3:30 AM. There are two young girls who work there, a waitress and a cook. Most of the night business is drunks at the drive thru ordering some burgers. Not too much foot traffic, so they both come out and talk to me. They don’t have omelettes on the menu, but I talked the cook into making me one with bacon and cheese. It wasn’t bad, but then how do you screw up scrambled eggs? I’m still awake because I had three cups of coffee that was strong enough to strip paint. I’ll do what I can before I get tired, then finish after my nap. No promises.

Ramadi is now on the verge of falling to the Islamic State terrorists. Dempsey, who is chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, downplayed the possible capture of Ramadi. Dempsey said last week that the city is “not central to the future of Iraq” and is “not symbolic in any way” to the success of the campaign to defeat Islamic terrorists.
McCain said he disagrees.
“This unbelievable statement is an insult to all those brave Americans who served and sacrificed in Ramadi, and the families and loved ones who miss them so dearly,” he said Monday.
