ON BOWLING FUNDRAISERS

There are fundraisers and then there are fundraisers. Let me tell you about two that are about as diametrically opposed as is possible.
First is a bowling fundraiser started by butt-ugly feminist-lesbian-frustrated she can’t get laid liberal stalwart Sally Kohn.

I’m bowling because I believe that everyone should have access to the abortions they need, regardless of how much money they have.

Because of unfair and unnecessary laws, safe and legal abortions can be out of reach of those who don’t have the money to pay for them. I don’t think that’s right, so I’m doing something about it. I’m bowling to break down barriers to abortion access.

Tempting. Yet, instead of joining her, many social media users responded in disgust.
But my hands down favorite had to be this message from The Blaze’s Dana Loesch, in which she used Kohn’s pro-abortion promotion to donate to the National Right to Life organization.

The other fundraiser was held March 14 for the bravest 6 year old I know, my grandson, Tyler.
It was well attended, and the total amount raised from the bowling, 50-50 raffle, and the silent auctions was not made public. He’s had good days and bad days, which I will go into at another time. Both of my daughters were there, as were their mothers. D#2’s mom I hadn’t seen since about 1985. She looks old.

DW AND I WERE THERE. THIS IS MY OLDEST DAUGHTERS’ DAUGHTER. SHE’S 13 AND EATS EVERYTHING IN SIGHT. HER METABOLISM MUST BE VERY HIGH BECAUSE SHE IS ONLY GROWING TALLER.

One fundraiser was to celebrate the slaughter of innocents, the other to help a precious child of God fight a deadly disease.

      I just finished reading Nabeel Qureshi’s autobiography, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus. It’s REALLY GOOD. I could only put it down when I was literally falling asleep. Read it all in two sessions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND it.

      It gave me a much better understanding of why so many Muslims are so sure their religion is true and peaceful. And the media’s approach to Obama’s bad side is just the same. Qureshi was raised to believe a sanitized and saintly version of Muhammad and the Qur’an.

      When he responded to the challenge to apply rigorous historical method to his faith, he was APPALLED at what he found. If you haven’t read it, get it. It’s quite possibly one of the most relevant books out there right now.

    Levi Johnston – Did not remember who this was. Until I got down a ways in the article, I was wondering, is this a celebrity or is this just a story about a pathetic loser? Both, as it turns out.

    That sweater sure is ugly. And that basketball player sure is tall!

    We’re getting our first real Spring thunderstorms today. Glad it’s in the 70s. This time of year, this could just as easily be ice. Anyway, we’ve had one brief wave, a pretty good gullywasher, with another heading our way. Possibly tornadoes, but more toward OKC than up our way. We can use the precipitation. We’re not as drought-stricken here as further west, but it’s been pretty dry. Lots of grassfires.

    Drought, deluge, fire, lightning and thunder, whirlwinds, and wild temperature swings. Just another Spring day in the Land of the Red Man.

    Kohn’s grotesquery reminds me of the gross “dead baby” jokes that went around my elementary school. Particularly this one:

    Q. What’s the difference between a truck full of dead babies and a truck full of bowling balls?
